My Pattaya Hotel Room and the Unexpected: Not a Happy Ending
NedR69 replied to BigLek's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
After the decision to ride on a long sweaty bus ride from BK, and to stay next to Soi 6...sounds like you got what you paid for. Brits sure like to write short stories about their cheap charlie adventures. Maybe save up for a holiday with enjoyable experiences so you won't have to write about your vivid imagination. It's good the couple left and didn't attack you -

That would be a scary situation for patients and staff. Wishing them all safe. -
Not sorry, I don't speak Australian, or Indian...but does "not this little black duck" translate to something like "no phuking way"??

I'm not sure about all Chase cards, but my Chase Sapphire was replaced/received in about 72 hours after calling when I got a fraud alert. I used it at a pet store in Khon Kaen and had bs charges attempted with eBay/Hong Kong.

Will Thailand always remain a Third World Country?

You covered almost everything, but I'm not sure if locals are oblivious, or maybe just believe the magic amulet and the holy strings on their wrists will fix their lives. -

Foreign Scammer with EM Bracelet Targets Pattaya Women
NedR69 replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Monitoring bracelet, usually worn on the ankle. Can be for location, or it may be for alcohol detection. For location, it could be due to domestic violence. For alcohol it could be due to alcohol related vehicle crash, possibly causing injuries or fatalities. The alcohol monitor doesn’t track or detect location. if it was domestic violence…and if he is from some countries, he would not be allowed by the court to travel. And unlikely to pass through security because it can’t be removed. -
We use Fascino. Our doc at BK Hospital Pattaya suggested Fascino.

Anywhere north of Hua Hin or north of Rayong has air quality problems. Never heard it was from rice fields. In Isan it’s sugar cane crop residue burning.

British Tourist Knocked Out by Pattaya Club Bouncer
NedR69 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Big greasy continues its downward spiral from any similarity of a safe destination. Even though the narrative seems to indicate the tourist was the initial provocation, the story doesn’t support the guard trying to de escalate the problem before resorting to a near lethal response. -

Transfer money from Thai bank to UK bank
NedR69 replied to Negita43's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
In Sep last year, I transferred from BK Bank to my USA bank. BK bank had a fee for this, it was still the second best option to move money out of Thailand. BK bank sent USD to my US bank. The rate was good for going from thb to usd in Sep/Oct. Better than Wester Union or even the bigger crooks - DeeMoney. It was a wire transfer from my bank branch in Pattaya. You can also exchange your THB for your currency and carry it back if you're flying. It was my first choice. -
Expats How Do You Deal With The Toxic Air Pollution in Thailand?
NedR69 replied to Mitkof Island's topic in General Topics
Wear a mask when I go outside, even if for ten minutes…wear a mask. In a car, motorbike, anywhere outside. Start wearing a mask about 1st week of January and usually by early May the air is better. HEPA filter - I bought a Smart Air HEPA, the Sqair model. Measuring the indoor PM 2.5 with a handheld detector. Keep windows and doors closed always. -
Thailand Sets Sights on Nuclear Power Integration by 2037

Wondering what country will operate the plant…this country doesn’t even have Cat 1 aviation rating, and I can’t see them working on anything near a reactor. -
