  1. Totally agree. If you are asymptomatic and do not need treatment, how can they have the nerve to charge 10,000 baht per day?? Do you get a free massage every day?? Even then it wouldn't cost that much. Pure and simple rip off!!
  2. Face masks are a controlled product??? Only in crazy, I mean amazing Thailand. You can't make this up!
  3. Its a common American expression! It means to engage in a pointless, menial task
  4. Zebra crossing is slang, but most Brits use it, the correct term is pedestrian crossings!
  5. You have a point, however I believe the correct terminology is pedestrian crossings!! You are correct Zebra crossings are British colloquialisms.
  6. Correct, you beat me to it!! The word pavement is confusing, because in the USA cars drive on the pavement and people walk on the sidewalk, in the UK people walk on the pavement!
  7. Totally agree, you will notice that the poster "Letseng" mentions farangs and not tourists, so obviously a xenophobe!
  8. Fine, you are not prepared to explain your position, so obviously you don't have one!
  9. The Covid virus originated in Wuhan, China! So calling it the Wuhan flu/virus makes perfect sense. The virus is associated with Wuhan, and indeed has commonly been referred to as “the Wuhan virus” in the press (at least prior to the World Health Organization formally naming the virus and the disease). Naming a virus after the location of the outbreak that first brought it to attention isn’t unusual. After all the West Nile virus emerged in the West Nile district of Northern Uganda in the 1930s. It is similar to the St. Louis encephalitis virus, which broke out around St. Louis, Mo., in 1933, and the Japanese encephalitis virus that caused outbreaks in Japan beginning in the 1870s. Coxsackie in New York state, Marburg in Germany and Hendra in Australia all have viruses named after them.
  10. Well it has been called the Wuhan flu/virus, or China virus! So it makes sense?
  11. I totally agree that Tom Yum Kung is delicious and deserves to be high on the list, but to mention CNN in the same breath is a complete joke. CNN are proven liars, ask the Covington kids, they cannot be trusted!
  12. Just because someone speaks facts doesn't make them an anti vaxer! What planet are you on? Long term trials have not yet been completed either on the vaccines! Nobody is saying vaccines don't save lives they do, but every drug has a side effect!
  13. Agree there is usually a reason, its usually connected to alcohol or drugs!!
  14. I believe you are correct, but it would have meant no bad publicity, good publicity in fact and potential new bookings, ergo more money!
  15. Surely if the hotel or at least the manager had any common sense, instead of threatening a defamation lawsuit with all its potential bad press. he or she would have contacted the customer who posted the review and ascertained exactly what the problems were? Then the hotel could have offered a free weekend to the customer and then the hotel would be seen in a good light at practically no cost. Instead if this gets published internationally the hotel is screwed!
  16. Sure anything is doable I suppose, but it looks like the suspension of any new TP will be now until the end of this month, there should be an announcement soon. This means only the Phuket sandbox or 7 days quarantine is now an option. This won't help the tourism figures?
  17. So lets get this straight? "Thai authorities are pressing charges against an Israeli tourist who escaped his quarantine hotel in Bangkok and will deport him after legal proceedings are concluded." So he will be charged and whether he is found guilty or not, he will be deported? So the Thai Authorities must know what decision the judge will make? Interesting??
