  1. Her father Femi Adegoke was a GP who later founded a publishing company in Nigeria and became an activist for the rights for the Yoruba people. Her mother Feyi was a professor of physiology in America and at the University of Lagos. Her family lived in the middle classneighbourhood of Surulere and she was a student at the private International School of Lagos. Badenoch has described her background as "middle-class" but said in 2018 "Being middle class in Nigeria still meant having no running water or electricity, sometimes taking your own chair to school" Mmmmmm……father a GP who founded a publishing company, mother a professor in the US, lived in a middle class area………but had no running water or electricity……doesn’t really add up methinks.
  2. You can’t make statements of this nature (on this forum) without providing evidence. Please provide links to support your statement.
  3. Seriously, no one is interested in what kids you had or where you lived…..fella…..555
  4. Where do I suggest, claim, indicate she was lying about her employment record? *Upon what are your claims based? *’On' is a preposition….you really should try to avoid ending a sentence with one.
  5. Just weekends…..yes, apart from the school and college holidays, then I might get more days. Private company building bespoke houses so we worked weekends….cheap labour. Were you working for your dad?….No. Father died from oesophageal cancer when I was 14. Mainly mixing cement…….for some reason by shovel…no cement mixer??…... Ditch digging, pipe laying, soak aways. Don’t tell Brian you are asking these questions…..you’re not supposed to be interested.
  6. No, it’s not her experience…..it is just what she said was her experience…..she’s just being a politician……much the same as Starmer…..I’m not a fan of either. I laboured on a building site, weekends, for three years from 16 …..I wouldn’t be arrogant enough to claim I know, empathise, or understand working mens lives on the back of that.
  7. Weizen!!! An acquired taste…..dunkel yes, weizen no….555
  8. ….that made me laugh…."it’s what she (a politician) said"…….5555
  9. So you know her peer group, amazing insight, but my suggestion that a full time A level student only does occasional shifts is derided…..555
  10. So coming from a privileged, wealthy background, living with both parents, but doing the occasional shift at a fast food outlet as a teenager, qualifies as understanding the life of single mothers......555
  11. "that also helped her understand the life of “single mothers” struggling to make ends meet"....what previous experience was that?
  12. Sadly, it seems some on here would rather risk brain damage, serious injury or death, than be told by a government what might be in their best interests. One might assume they have already suffered a brain injury.
  13. He is correct.....by their very nature coups ride roughshod over any laws in place.....it's in the nature of the beast. What the law should ensure is the death penalty for the instigators.
  14. Thai Police to Crackdown on Crime During New Year Festivities........ A good start would be if all the RTP stayed at home and didn't extort money from the bar owners.
  15. I can see that being used in court as mitigation.....sorry, it was dark and we shot the wrong person......TiT.
  16. I invest in Heavy Finance and have a return of 11%....????? As does every other Heavy Finance investor.....how many other bond holders have scooped the jackpot at 3.65%.......5555
  17. That's a tough one......is your statement based on hatred or is it just pathetic?
  18. Badenoch's attempts to take bites out of/score points against Starmer are already starting to wear thin. She would do much better to stick substantial matters of State and try to be more Statesperson like, than student politician who is out of their depth and sniping for the sake of it.
  19. How about this for a gamble.......met SWMBO.....together for three days in total............got married......that was in 2006.
  20. True, but a single ticket in the national lottery has a 1 in 13 million chance of winning.......slightly better that 62 billion. The difference of course is you still have your pound with the premium bonds......but inflation soon whittles away its purchasing power.
  21. I did mean to reword it so that wasn't an option.....but then forgot.....that's how old I really am.....:-(
  22. I just knew someone would say that......well done....555
