  1. But the idea is if we show our monthly living costs are split 50:50......she isn't transferring any money back to me.
  2. AI...... Gifting money to your Thai wife in Thailand is tax-free, regardless of the amount or source, there is no limit and the gifted funds can be given as a lump sum or monthly payments. So what is to stop those of us dumb enough to get married, from transferring any money we need this way....avoiding all tax? I'm thinking if we spend, say 80,000 baht a month, I gift her 40,000 each month and avoid, or significantly reduce, any tax I might have to pay. Easy to argue then, that she is not simply transferring the money back to me.
  3. Only heard this a few weeks ago.......mental.....how can anyone play like that????
  4. There's an "onlyfans" option....wow.....must look into that....555
  5. There are potential barriers to an EO being enacted...State governments, Federal courts, Congress can all launch a legal challenge.....if there is a will to to do so......there will be a challenge, if hasn't already happened, re: the Birth Right EO.
  6. My brother actually locked the gates to the British officers mess ....re Dependence day.....!!!
  7. Fair enough, been a while since I ate in the mess......2019......full English, open buffet, eat what you want, was 2 Euros......and officers still tried to sneak their girlfriends in for a free meal! Beer was about the same 2 Euros a pint....from memory.
  8. Got some notion as I lived in mainland Europe for 25 years.......but thanks for the advice.
  9. Unless it is fitted with a HEPA filter it is unlikely to achieve any reduction in PM2.5 particles.
  10. Same in the British Army.....the prices for alcohol (and food for that matter) are a joke......at least in the Officers Mess.
  11. Yes...exactly that....in order to replace all the nice, clean, white skinned Europeans we threw out......(Brexit)....... for people with dark skin......but at least now we can spot them easily if they need attacking.
  12. There is just no excuse for these cars/lorries/buses to be pumping out fumes.....even more annoying are the airheads that chip their trucks to get an ounce of extra power at the cost of huge plumes of smoke.....absolutely criminal
  13. As of January 25, 2025, at 5:00 AM local time, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Davos, Switzerland, is 53 As of January 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM local time, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Bangkok, Thailand, is 164, I know where I would rather be......though I'm surprised Davos is 53.
  14. Apparently the products the shops can sell without a medical certificate from the purchaser must be below 0.2% THC......meaning they are basically selling cigarettes????.....?? If they comply with the law.....55
  15. AI...though not always correct.... if the tax you pay in the UK qualifies as a tax credit in Thailand and the credit exceeds the amount of tax you would owe in Thailand, then you typically would not have to pay any additional tax in Thailand.
  16. .....but in theory their only customers must be people with medical permits?......Thailand to a T
  17. Wise or lucky in those times? Quality is on a whole new level now.....as it is world wide I guess.
  18. Is that the law now? What about the 10,000 cannabis shops in BKK?

  20. I thought you just received a tax credit for tax paid in your home country? If the tax credit is more than you would have paid in tax in Thailand....then no tax to pay in Thailand. Is that how it works?
  21. Cannot see hydrogen....as much as it is hyped....... being a real contender as a major future energy source. Horrendous difficulties storing, transporting, delivering .
