  2. Again I would agree, however, the kid, holding a grudge, finds your address and a whole new world of pain awaits
  3. Yes, that is a huge gap and obviously leaves you almost(?) as vulnerable as having no jab.
  4. Best bet is to register in Bangkok. My Thai wife is 38 and has been vaccinated with AZ at the Emporium, Phrom Phong.
  5. And yet the article doesn't seem to suggest herd immunity is impossible, just that people are not doing what is required to achieve it.
  6. Pressing charges opens up a whole new world of grief. The right thing to do, but I can understand why he wouldn't bother.
  7. Why is renting a house like throwing money away. It is certainly not how I look at. If you have the capital, invest it and rent. That works here (not necessarily in the UK) because rent is incredibly low. The interest you earn on your capital will outweigh the cost of your rent. Renting also has the advantage of no maintenance worries, you can move if anything happens (noisy neighbors, abattoir opens up next door).
  8. Could have been German. They don't even look before stepping out. Pedestrians and cyclists are Gods there.
  9. True, but we are talking food in that case. Ain't nothing going to keep Thais from their food.
  10. Read an article on Ebola and one of the reasons it doesn't spread so far and wide, even though it is highly transmissible, is that it kills people too quickly!!!!
  11. Had an identical situation with my mother, albeit 9 or 10 years ago. Three bed family house, large garden and a life time of memories. It really will be a heartbreaking for her to leave. We took about a year to convince my mother to move, not an easy thing to do. Unless she can afford home help, a gardener, a cleaner she just has to move eventually. Sad.
  12. 16-18 currently offered the vaccine, 12-15 under consideration (I think).
  13. 100%. I am surprised this isn't used as a deterrent more often. Commit a crime; off you go, visa cancelled and/or holiday over.
  14. Had 3BB for a few years, no problems. Also had True, no problems. By and large Thailand seems to be streets ahead of the UK.
  15. True to a degree. I regularly cross at Nana, soi 4 and you have to be bold and step out because they will not stop just because the pedestrian crossing is on green.
  16. I would seriously consider splurging on the lottery. You are on a roll.
  17. "The people have said they are most concerned about assault, murder, theft, drugs and cyber crime and wish that the police would stop committing these crimes".
  18. He was lucky in way, could have been stabbed or shot. My wife goes ballistic if a I say or doing anything when driving, she is genuinely scared that some idiot will pull a gun.
