  1. One does need to take care when crossing 4 lanes of divided roadway when traffic is moving at speed. Hopefully others with take note, and actually walk around via traffic light, as the extra few 100 meters could mean the difference between life & death. And still, never take your eyes off traffic when crossing. R I P
  2. So it's an official crosswalk then ? ... of which I didn't see any on G-streetview, though, may have been provided after G-mapping done. Though finding it hard to believe, there's an official crosswalk though 4 lanes of traffic, if not more, of divided roadway without warning lights or stop lights. Ask requested in OP being needed.
  3. hmm ... that 2nd Amendment for Yanks comes to mind. ON TOPIC to OP ... I'd access the situation, and respond in kind, maybe. I'm usually of the 'no reason ever to hit a woman', but self defense takes precedence.
  4. Just like ICEVs, nothing goes to waste, after an oops, or the rest of the vehicle can't keep up. Definitely an after market for battery packs, and most car's packs are larger than what people have on there solar system already. Our SS has 20kWh of ESS (cost ฿185k), our car has 50kWh (46.3 usable). When the motor & battery lasts longer then the rest of the car, 10-15-20 yrs ... yea, the solar system will be ready for an additional ESS bank. 5. Big Camera stores seem to be an authorized seller in TH. With a few others listed on their 'where to buy' page. Seems to be a nice point & shoot camera. Nice specs for knock around town and low light. I'm a Sony fan myself. Would recommend Sony @6400, cost a bit more, but interchangeable lens if that interests you, and want to expand your photography. Things do start getting expensive then. Actually have 2 of them, since I don't like changing lenses. Keep a different use lens on both. Kit lens is 16-55mm, but F3.5-5.6, which is actually pretty good. Though I upgraded the lens for knocking around town, better & more range, Though TBH, use my phone for most things. Then I have a separate kit, with ultra zoom lens for wildlife, on the other camera body. That gets lots of use.
  6. Guessing she attempted to cross where you're not suppose to, and there's a barrier between opposing traffic. Instead of walking down to the U-turn, where you actually can cross the street, since no dividing wall. One being a 500 meter walk, the other is 800 meter walk, longer but safer, since having traffic signals for cross traffic & U-turns.
  7. Always wear a helmet, but aside from that, IF I can get away with it, I'll do it, if convenient. Mostly driving against traffic to the convenient U-turn, instead of the 'next' one. Won't drive on a walkway, though never needed to, or convenient to. Slowed down a lot since first getting here. Especially if with dog or wife. Actually drove more illegally in the USA, then here, speed wise, since much larger MC. Less respect for MCs in USA, so I consider driving here safer. When living in Udon Thani area, then yes, lots of swerving through slower, or congested traffic. Now, here/PKK and really not necessary. Amazing how everyone drives fairly legal here compared to NE. Never an accident here, 23+ years, knock on wood. Younger folks drive so much better here, abet, a bit wild at times, but always in control. Older folks seem to do thing unexpectedly, and without warning, along with seeming not to be confident or in control at times. Seems crazy at times, but it flows and seems to work good ... ... until it doesn't, and someone makes an oops, without a helmet. Far too many.
  8. Clapton (authentic) Most signed memorabilia is not.
  9. Common sense ... ... but technically, it's called "androphobia"
  10. For those curious about the pricing, which should be fairly correct. Notice MGs are no longer discounted/price drop. Was that just a 1 month promo ? Took MG prices of MG site. USD & THB
  11. hmm ... H U D (not the movie) ... showing a bit of ignorance
  12. Don't know if I'd make a special trip, but if in the area (not the city/100 kms away): Khai Yai Art Museum Our snaps when in the area 23 kms from the Art Museum: Alcidini Winery Think they said February is harvest season, as when we were there, nothing really on the vines. Some interesting wines; Raisin, and I picked up a few different bottles. Have tasting (or did), but charge 100 baht, which they credit toward your purchase. Very nice family run place. If that close, (2 hrs from Korat city) might as well pop down to Phanom Rung Hist Park, if haven't already. Really didn't care for the city/Korat. And yet to actually venture into Khao Yai Nat Park, though been through it a few times.
  13. Anyone looking for HEPA filters, I just picked these up. 10 sheets for ฿127 w/delivery. Sold as a wrap around Xiaomi & Philips purifier filters. Can use for AC units, as another use. Our AC units have purifiers already, and I actually bought for the cars interior intake for air circulation. As car's filter was clogged up w/dog hair & replaced @ 20k kms check up. So won't need to do that again.
  14. Asked & answered too many times already. No desire to repeat myself, along with 10 more replies from people who's source of info is MSM, controlled by those wanting the proxy war $$$$$$ We'll have to agree to disagree.
  15. Try starting with the USA backed regime change. The usual foreign policy. Rinse & repeat
  16. Goes back to almost a decade, but keep your ear to MSM for your up to date spin. We'll just have to agree to disagree. Have a nice day
  17. RU only had 3 goals ... ... protect the people in the regions that no longer wanted to be ruled by UA ... de-militarize UA ... regime change
  18. This guy needs to throw in the towel, before the country is destroyed beyond repair. The people have suffered enough. RU has accomplished most of what it set out to do, and the last thing is regime change. How much of the country is he going to offer up, before he & govt relinquishes power back to the people. Surely he has his millions squirreled away, and will be retiring in comfort in the USA when all said & done. Reward for the proxy war and defense contractor's profits. Enough already ...
  19. to the title ... ... simply ignore reading silly threads from silly posters
  20. Think you got that backwards, as TH appears to be way ahead of the West. EVs are very affordable here, and CSa (ATM) are plentiful. Solar Systems are inexpensive. Two of my newest toys. I don't think anyone regrets buying an EV here, unless it was the overpriced Leaf. Early buyers are upgrading to newer tech/battery chemistry. As normal when new toys come out, and they want to have first, and really should know better is just on the horizon. More so now, with the flood of EVs hitting the market. We've seen it over & over with 'electronic' tech, computer, phones, cameras, even drones. More competition, produces more options at better prices. Even our EV (MG ZS) had a ฿100k price drop since we ordered, 18months ago and received 1 year ago. As did the rest of the MG's BEV line up. Not happy about it, but no real loss for us, as saved ฿40-50k from not buying petrol within that year, and didn't lose another 10-15% on the ICE version we sold, if held another year, so another ฿40-60k realized. Pretty much a wash. Top it off, the insured value, just renewed 2 weeks ago, if totaled or stolen, is ฿1k more than price of a new one
  21. So cobalt is only an issue when used for EV batteries, which they are getting away from, with LFP chemistry batteries. Doesn't seem to be an issue when used in other products you use; Phone, laptop, oil & petroleum production, metals & alloys. Just those nasty EVs 2021 ... ... 34% of cobalt used in EV batteries (now less) ... 31% used in other purpose batteries; phones, laptops, etc " Superalloys, which are used to make parts for gas turbine engines, are another major use for cobalt. Cobalt is also used to make airbags in automobiles; catalysts for the petroleum and chemical industries; cemented carbides (also called hardmetals) and diamond tools; corrosion- and wear-resistant alloys; drying agents for paints, varnishes, and inks; dyes and pigments; ground coats for porcelain enamels; high-speed steels; magnetic recording media; magnets; and steel-belted radial tires." Hypocrisy - the practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one's own behavior does not conform.
  22. They probably wouldn't even notice, until they actually have to do something, like new debit card or passbook. I go in, and make a withdrawal every few months, and they just make a copy of ID page. Not sure, but don't think they pay attention to the rest. They might if you actually need to do something.
  23. I don't think the Yanks care about Global inflation. Here's a list of countries with 'LESS' inflation than the USA For 2023 - 2022 - 2021 2022 & 2021, I needed to put in 2 columns as there was so many ... IMF Data
