  1. Slight correction in my #s, and the Fortuner is 2.72X the MG ZS (ICE) price, not 4X ... oops. Also didn't have solar when EV version was ordered, but solar was planned. Sadly after I bought the ICE version 1.5 yrs earlier, so lost a bit on short, 2yr, ownership, instead of simply keeping what we had for 2 more years. Hindsight sucks, or not consulting soothsayer, as ignorance, upgraded ZS & gov't incentives didn't happen yet. Although worked at quite well, and nice to know what you are buying before you invest silly money in cars. Liked the ICE version, so easy choice moving to E version. Size of that solar system was not dependent on EV purchase, so still charge with excess solar = free. Added ESS was do to PEA's install of digital meter, and only change to the system, for off grid overnight use. Certainly not to charge the EV.
  2. I think same price, as TB finally got one to test drive, and stated 970k
  3. Make that braindead ... ... y'all going want to give that one a pass. ????
  4. SoHo is the winner for late night pizza, huge slices, tasty, and open till 3-4am, depend on day via Gmaps ????
  5. 5% a year on any car, I'm finding hard to believe. At least 10% the first year. Granted T & H will hold value better than MG, but may cost 25% or more to buy. T. Cross starts at 1.2M, the MG ZS 689k. (42% more) Even though ZS has smaller engine, (1.5 vs 1.8) has more hp/torque.
  6. Dutch Mill whole milk, about the only thing I'll drink, or prefer to. Frothing wand, and same, can't seem to get good results. So I use, an el' cheaper frother. Think 60 baht from Daiso or <100 from LAZ. And it's lasted a few years, still going. Takes a sec to find sweet spot, after frothing, but then creates a nice vortex/whirlpool, and you can get the foam to any degree you want. heat the milk in microwave, 30 ish second, 75ml for 200 ml (total) cappuccino.
  7. 'Meg 2' is out, for brainless entertainment ???? May want to watch first one 'Meg' if haven't yet.
  8. One would think not. The ICE ZS was only 700k, and anything less than 1M (ZS EV), isn't going to have the fit & finish or ride of higher end cars. EV performance vs ICEV is different subject, but also apples & oranges. We got a GRAB at Krung Thep, and it was Fortuner, and a nice one at that, and no, the ZS (ICE) wasn't even close. But also about 1/4 th the price, 700k vs 2.5M, so quite expected. I'm a point A to B car person, and think 1M (ZS EV 950k) is silly price for 4 wheeled transport. But it is what it is, if wanting something new & comfy enough to be in 3-4 hrs at a stretch. In perspective, our main house was contracted at 1.1M, so 1M for something that depreciates ... ????????????
  9. The 'ignorant' mistake I made, when buying our 'coffee' machine. As '15 bar' and I thought, if 9 is good, 15 should be better ... ???????????????? Un-adjustable and terrible extraction for espresso. OK crema if using the pressurized portafilters. Which didn't hold enough coffee for me, so bought larger naked one. Works fine, but still pushes water through too fast, and bad extraction. With all this crap, I prefer the drip cone ???? All taste about the same, and drip is easiest. Wife enjoys the crema with the machine ????
  10. Understandable if an MG3, and that's one, 'you get what you pay for'. Extreme entry level price & quality. When the MG3s hit the market here, I cringed, thinking of their/MG's past repair record. Thought to myself, hell no, I'd never own an MG. Did peak at them/MG3, and low quality, even for low price. Then when looking 2020 for new ride, figured I'd peak again, see if improved, and not enough, besides, not exactly fitting in very comfortably with my back. While there, peaked at the ZS (ICE), and priced the same as everything I was looking at. Took it for a short test ride, and I was sold on it. 2 years later, not as ignorant about EVs, govt incentive, and the MG ZS EV upgrades for same 2020 price, and it was a no brainer for me, especially since we already had solar at the house. Prior cars were; Vios (2), Mazda 2.
  11. Yes, I bought an MG do you really need to ask why MG Motor Named 'Carmaker Of The Year' 2022 UK: Car of the Year 2022! MG ZS EV wins top award The MG4 EV is crowned 'UK Car of the Year 2023' AU: MG ZS range claims Drive Best Overall Value Car NZ: MG HS Plus EV Wins Best Car of the Year 2021 Sweden: MG ZS EV voted 'Car of the Year 2022' by leading car UAE: MG HS named Middle East 'Car of the Year' for 2020 MG ZS EV voted 'Family Car of the Year 2021' by Flemish (?) 12. Nobody suggest to stop posting, just change the tune. Answer: MG is a much better, reliable car now, and a great value. They can't make them fast enough.
  13. I think you meant their 'quality built, inexpensive value for your money, family car' Give a rest .... take a hint. We tire of that broken record of yours. Pick another tune ... ????
  14. Didn't miss it, just don't think it's exclusively about MGs. Not as short sighted as some.
  15. Why 'join Phetkasem, if out for a ride toward the hills. We are still talking about bicycle riding ... yes ?
  16. Yea, it does say 'Chinese cars', so you may want to reread it yourself. Along with this in the text of OP: but then they buy chinese cars when EU cars or even Japanese are so much better
  17. 2 reasons, weren't available, so moot subject, and Atto & OGC both very new models, and I don't do new models. Give them time to work the kinks out. Even after available, I'd still would have gotten the MG ZS or EP, as better specs & value IMHO Definitely more bang for baht. Buying an MG was a tough decision for me, until I test drove it, and did a bit more research. As I don't know anyone that had a high opinion of them in the past. Not a good track record with the need for constant repair (USA models). They did go belly up, for whatever reasons, and surely the product was part of it. As far as the price itself, I can afford any reasonably priced car in TH. That it was priced right, is just a plus.
  18. Part of 'globalization', and been that way for decades, so you might as well start to warm up to it. Best thing that happened to MG Motors, SAIC took over, and now a good value product that actually makes a profit. Every new model seems to be winning a 'Best Car of Year' award somewhere. Why pick on MG, when CH makes cars for most manufacturers. SAIC alone (one of the Big Four in CH) produces 19 models of VW already. Along with 3 Audis & 12 Skodas models @ 6 different facilities in CH.
  19. Lower price isn't an MG thingy. Priced right now, and as stated, a bargain. 3 yrs ins, 2 extra, so 40k value, nice. Been pricing ins lately, as ours up in 2 months. 20k+/- seems to be going rate. Can get lower payments, but lower coverage, higher deductible.
  20. Changed hotels, no buffet brekkie ... ????
  21. Best Soc Sec COLA in the last 23 yrs since he took the helm, also the highest inflation. Good for me, bad for US citizens. Nice exchange rate also, Trump out @ 30 to $1, Biden in, hit 38, now 35+/- to $1. IF he craps out in office, or gets booted, for simply being senile, then it will get even better. Harris as president ... there's a scary thought. 2024 BIDEN 2024
  22. It's the actual numbers of, and how they drive up the cost of living in tourist areas. Not only for those living there, but for domestic tourists. Planning an O&A, and the hotel prices at Krung Thep are just getting silly. Not to mention the strain on the already lacking infrastructure, and damage to natural environment so the tourist have access to the beauty, while ruining it in the process.
  23. It's a sorry state if these are the only 2 left standing to run. Don't care for either of them, but me me me, Biden is a better choice ... for ME. Not so good for USA.
  24. I had older Saeco for a short time, as someone gave it to me, from Hua Hin, a freebie, as it stopped working, and he didn't want deal with. Older machine and damn heavy. Did it all, grind/brew. Not very well though. The low water sensor was defective, so machine sensing low water, wouldn't function. I rewired, a bit of soldering and bypassed the sensor, and it worked. Didn't care for it, sold for 1000 baht ????, think, maybe 2k. Original said he paid like 50k for it.
