common sense doesn't prevail with some people ... ... don't charge indoors, or leave unattended. Of course we don't know if 'user error' was involved, Bought new or used, just 2 weeks ago. All the LiPo batteries I've had & charged, pushing the limits of, only one went oops, and THB, it wasn't a surprise, and should have discarded long ago. Just thankful it went pop while charging, instead of while being operated in my drone. And it was not OEM, IF that matters ????

Yes, entertaining enough, though I did fast forward through quite a bit of it, when by himself. Some good chuckles along the way. 'To Catch a Killer' was also good time filler. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10275534/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_8_nm_0_q_to%20ca

What were the OEM tyres on cb500X 2013 model?
KhunLA replied to LS24's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
Don't know if makes a difference where purchased, but from this review: "Our CB500X came with 90/10 on-road/off-road Pirelli Scorpion Trail tires" https://ridermagazine.com/2014/01/02/2013-honda-cb500x-road-test/ -
Pita Limjaroenrat: Meet Thailand’s (probable) next leader
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
So I take it, you don't have a link to enlighten me, any more than I already know. Thanks for clearing that up. -
I'd actually check the TH & USA import med sites for accurate info. IF wanting to be legal. I know many countries allow, with or without prior written approval, but also limit the amount to 2 weeks or 30 day supply. Don't know, but would think that's the USA policy, as big Pharma would hate to miss out on charging you overpriced USA prices for meds. Assuming you're going back to stay, I personally would simply take a 1 yr supply with, and hope for the best. No questions, and if notice, at worse, confiscated. Would help to have some kind of script with you, and simply play dumb if noticed. You did have surgery, bring proof, and it's not like they are a marketable street drug. Do make sure you don't fly through SG or Middle East, strict drug law countries.

Coronavirus / Face Masks Intl Traveling Report
KhunLA replied to TallGuyJohninBKK's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
I seem to have an excellent immune system, as prior to covid making the rounds, I rarely got any flu like symptoms, and if so, gone in a day or so. Unlike the wife & kid, assuming same bug, and seem to suffer the 10-14 day cycle before symptom free. During covid, surly infected with one strain or another the past 3 yrs. With one day of runny nose, something I never have, and a symptom of the latest at the time, along with only flu like symptom the past 3 ish yrs. And not caring or wasting 50 baht for a test to tell me nothing I need to know. Daughter tested positive, along with many of her friends. Wife also never bothered getting test, when have a sniffle or 3 over the past few years. I really have nothing against mask wearer, just don't ask/tell me to wear one. Please, stop quoting those pushing & need to meet a profit margin on their bottom line. Believe what you want, or what you are told by them. I'll simply go by my past experiences, on how good a far superior vapor mask works or not, and realize, what they are pushing, isn't going to do much when it comes to keeping a virus out of your body. And I didn't even add how useless they are without proper goggles. Eyes simply another unprotected entry point. If going to 'follow the science' then actually 'follow the science'. Above is all my opinion of course, believe what ever give you that warm & fuzzy feeling. No, my immune system isn't perfect, as did get Dengue fever years back, I think, unconfirmed. Man, that knocks you for a loop .... about 2 weeks of 'shoot me now' ???? -

Yes, read same, as how he 'acquired' or got 'control' of the shares. Does give the EC and CC room for some discretionary leeway, if they see fit, to let him remain. As you say, we don't have the exact facts, and may never have. Next week or month may be interesting. Really hope Pita & party take the helm, as TH needs a break from the very old junta regime. Give it rest fellows, you got your millions, just retire already. -
Almost 10 Million Foreign Tourists So Far This Year
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Popped up to Krung Thep the other day, and yep ... way too tourist ???? Silom area & lower Suk & Nana soi 4 was packed, as was the the BTS, non-ish rush hour as were the walkways, T21. You probably wouldn't make the 1st or 2nd BTS train @ Asok. Actually better than pre-covid, when you couldn't even get pass the turnstiles at rush hour. Faster to actually walk if going only 1 or 2 stations, along with no need to climb up the steps. No way could I live anywhere close to 'downtown'. We were only there for convenience, as usually stay on W side of river. TBH ... couldn't wait to leave. -
EV Owners … Real life experience & help thread
KhunLA replied to KhunLA's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
~฿8 per kWh Glad you liked Garage Café, as it just happen to be at the right distance and near the U-turn on the return leg. Pleasantly surprised as we didn't expect much. More simply convenient w/decent reviews, thankfully accurate good reviews. Would definitely pop in again. -

Day #3 of charging the ZS via Solar ???? Day #1 / 2 / 3 ... 22 / 52 / 77 % start, and should top up today before 1600 hrs. At least 6 hrs per day. Of course I could have simply used the grid overnight @ 7.4kWh vs 2.3kWh via granny cord. Having the E-MB for simple chores, morning dog run, and actually went shopping at Makro w/wife. Think a first using the scooter, and works if not stocking up. 8kWh solar enough to power house, 2ACs (13 & 24BTUs) & the ZS EV. Goes something like this, in stages, car, bdrm AC, main AC: -
Pita Limjaroenrat: Meet Thailand’s (probable) next leader
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Didn't delve into it that much, as totally irrelevant to my life in TH, but also not seeing anywhere stating he expected or planned on dealing with the issue. Maybe you could provide a link to that tidbit. Stating that he found it 'impossible' to get rid of his shares, doesn't change the fact, he holds them. Clue me in on what I'm missing, please. From VOA: It may come down to he said / he said, 'did' / 'did not' inform of holding shares. Both irrelevant, if letter of law followed, holding shares disqualifies him from holding office. Public pressure to enforce the rule ... .... or not. Personally I'm not optimistic on his chances of winning, when they vote to ban or not. -
Russian tourist injured in Bangkok snatching incident
KhunLA replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Yes, there is crime everywhere, and common sense helps minimize being a victim of. For the scooter bag snatcher, simply hanging your bag on the shoulder not facing traffic can be all the deterrent needed. Tracking device and return of her belongings is a nice end to the story. Bummer about taking a nasty fall during the experience. -
Pita Limjaroenrat: Meet Thailand’s (probable) next leader
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Agree, and if anything, is showed the younger generation, they now have choices. Hopefully, if Pita gets banned, it will be just him, and not the whole party. That would be a bit of a setback, and once again, a wait to next election cycle. -
I will NOT purchase another Mazuma product also, as warranty & return issues , mirror yours, and useless IMHO. One was hot water heater, krapped out, and the other was a countertop water purifier, and hassle along with high restock charge to return. Recommend avoiding Mazuma products at all cost. Along with so many other brands. Big ElectroLux fan now, and yes, tad more expensive, but worth every baht.

Pita Limjaroenrat: Meet Thailand’s (probable) next leader
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
'Probable' .. not so sure. Doubtful he'll make it pass the EC decision, and not only not be PM, but probably banned completely from office. For being the quite intelligent person that he is, how he didn't see that coming is a surprise, especially considering the same fate was bestowed on the party leader. -
Yep ... if our ZS has motor oops after warranty, and silly priced to replace, I know where the battery pack is going. Right to our solar system. Even at 50% capacity, it's would be more ESS juice than we have now.

Solar Water Heater Hurdle
KhunLA replied to Jenkins9039's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
Yes, hot water, green pipe. The exact why, I don't know, though maybe blue PVC chemicals absorbed by water if hot, so not good. You definitely want to control water temp at faucet with mixing, as stated, it can be scolding. We haven't needed to turn on our hot water heaters for some time now, as lukewarm, to very warm, and that's city piped water. Not many houses on the line, so it sits in city pipes for some time on our soi. I could easily bake bread if using city water now, as 105F to 115F. Actually perfect time for bread ???? If using water heater (3500 watts) I could brew a cup of tea. Had external roof mounted SS water tank at one house, and varied from freezing to scolding, depending what time of year. -

Exposed.... ...if exposed, your immune system stopped the infection, not the mask. Why mostly old and unhealthy people died from covid. -

I used to wear a vapor mask when cleaning chimneys and when I was done, I'd blow my nose and it will come out anywhere from Gray to Black ... masks don't work. -

KhunLA replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
That depends on the helmet. I know more than a few people who had their helmets taken. I only locked mine because I'm a hard fit and it cost more than 200 baht. This country is so safe, most have walls around their houses and bars on the windows and doors ... Open your eyes. Where I live I don't even lock the doors. If the wall and the fake security cameras don't deter them, they're coming in anyway at least this way, they won't break a window or door. -

KhunLA replied to TallGuyJohninBKK's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
Correct, as jagg88 stated, they don't work, prevent infection. 10% infected, is like 10% pregnant...IMHO Why more than 4.7 million people in Thailand had confirmed cases of covid and so many more millions probably simply didn't even know they had it, couldn't be bothered testing for, or didn't report it. -

Depends on your accommodations. Don't think I'd stay at a place I can't leave my laptop.
