That's a sad list. Not much of a motivation to go with that list.

PhiMai is a nice little town, and the Khmer ruins there are quite nice, though dwarfed by Phanom Rung. The museum part, if still there, was along the road into town off hwy#2, and should stop there first. PhiMai actually quite close hwy#2. If you go to a lot of the Khmer ruins / museums dotted around the country, you'll notice (the fine print) many, most of the artifacts are from PhiMai area & Phanom Rung area sites. Prasat Muang Singh Khmer temple in Kanchanaburi, was rather nice also. Three of the better (only) ones I've visited. Ban Chiang, Udon Thani is also nice, and try to go there during the yearly festival. Quite the archeological find, and had to rewrite the history books with that find. Pre-dates other finds, concerning manufacture and use of metals

Khao Yai Art Museum, Pak Chong area, was interestingly different, if in the area. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Khao+Yai+Art+Museum/@14.5961804,101.3283344,20677m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m6!3m5!1s0x311c321d533d6e5b:0xffa4217c0d50d043!8m2!3d14.5531545!4d101.433381!16s%2Fg%2F12q4v3875 And a winery may interest, though harvest season is Feb. so don't expect much in the vineyard. Again, only if near by: Alcidini Winery https://www.google.com/maps/place/Alcidini+Winery/@14.5434865,101.5999862,666m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x311c3b4561e8e2d5:0xa974f1f8820d8ef!8m2!3d14.5434813!4d101.6025665!16s%2Fg%2F1hc76gfj4

Headed somewhere soon ourselves, undecided though. Nong Bua LamPhu come July, but want to go somewhere S before that. Waiting for some rain actually, so a bit greener, and clearer skies, though skies (blue & cloudy) quite nice now locally. Love rainy season, in between the rains.

Been there a few times, but apparently before 2012, as no G location mark, at least on that phone/ID/account, as had more than a few. I've done most of Isan and east coast, beyond Rayong to Cambo border. Use to have the wife ferry over to Laos, from Nakhon Phanom for a Bailey's restock when there. Visited the original Uncle Ho house, with original coconut tree that he planted still there ???? vs that fake replica of Uncle Ho's house at Udon Thani ... blasphemy I tell you. Ubon never did nothing for me, Nakhon Phanom & That Phanom were good for a visit, and chill riverside.

Mine is strictly R&R now. Just chillin' in a different location, different hill/valley, water view. Bungalow, balcony, veranda, waiting for a different species of something to fly or crawl buy. Coffee or smoothie / sweet tooth fix w/view. Was actually going to start a thread, with 'pitstop' w/a view, if in the area thingy. But canned the idea, as sure to get too many trolls, telling me they don't care what or where I eat, as they'd rather enjoy there barstool view/people watching.

Maybe a good money laundering project. Stabilize it with some pilings, patch & paint above the waterline, and you have a restaurant/bar, with a couple rooms to rent out. Or yet, another new coffee shop ☕ -
There's a risk factor with any chemical inhaled, ingested into the body. Plenty of chain smokers of whatever that didn't die of respiratory ailments. If relief of decades of pain, or living circumstances is only a sacrifice of a couple years life expectancy, or not, then possibly well worth any risk involved, or not. I'm certainly not giving up BBQ, beer, butter or sugar, so a little ganga now & then isn't going to do me in any earlier, hopefully. Not after being an habitual smoker for about a decade, decades ago. Some of the krap movies I've been watching lately, you have to stoned to tolerate. And still didn't help. At best, put me to sleep early and out of my misery ????

Does Voltaren/diclofenac require prescription in Thailand?
KhunLA replied to cdemundo's topic in Health and Medicine
@cdemundo the Thai generic is, was only ฿5-10 per tablet, in 10 tab bubble pack. Don't think I've ever paid more than ฿80 for a 10 tab strip. Been a while since purchased. -
Probably does, except the other parents are happy to be rid of their kid. How is this guy financing his stay ? There in lies in danger, if illegal activity. 10k reward, PoPo should be finding him soon. Off topic ... in USA, parents have no right to control their kids at any age. If kids disagree, they sue for emancipation, since being mentally abused.

Maybe time to scuttle it, for a new artificial reef somewhere and have it actually put to use. -
Lots of bargains out there still. Daughter and partner just bought a condo (damn expensive), and way below their sales promo price. Building was suppose to be finish during early covid, and their unit won't even be ready till August. Guessing construction was stopped for quite some time. Surely plenty of 2nd hand available from those buying just before covid, due to loss income, whether from employment or expected rental income. Land prices have gone up, considerably (5-9X) locally, since we bought, 7 yrs ago or built (contracted), 2.5 yrs ago, and to build the same now, would probably cost 2X. Still inexpensive here, compared to other markets.

Does Voltaren/diclofenac require prescription in Thailand?
KhunLA replied to cdemundo's topic in Health and Medicine
Already stated, long term continued use of diclofenac has some issues, and not recommended. I've taken it (tabs) for decades, but never more than a few months at a time, if that. Only if I aggravated my back. Never an issue, and more like a week or two, as normal use, after warning got some press. Prior, guessing a few months at a time, with very long breaks, years, in between use. Most things you can get without a script, and generic diclofenac is extremely inexpensive here. -
Travel in another city
KhunLA replied to Jack1988's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Wife does the check in at hotels, and if they ask me for ID, then I give them my pink ID or DL, as they can't do a TM 30 without the PP info, so Imm never knows where I am. I've never done a TM30 after being O&A, and they've never questioned it, even when using PP. Actually never knew it had to be done yeas ago, before they change the rule. -
Don't know about quaintness, but I get bored, doing, eating, seeing the same thing over & over, and simply need, want a change. At one time you must have thought the same, or you would have simply stayed in your hometown, or someplace in the past that was acceptable. I simply have to explore, to fill a curiously or a break in boredom. A small sampling of past decade, since having 'location' on phone and Gtracking. A lot missing, Issan and East of Patts to Cambodia border. No tracking first 10+ yrs here. Lot's of repeat visits, every year, except to places not shown. Guess I wasn't too impressed first time and once or twice was enough, in the first decade here. Coffee shops or restaurants with a view seem to be a top attraction for me of late. Most TH 'attractions' don't do much for me any more. Same same, not very different. Google a list of attractions at most locations, and you get a few mediocre Nat'l Parks, and yet another Wat. Photography hobby, quest for a snap of another species of bird takes me a little further and slower through some area. That's help fill in some time the past 5 years. Don't fly the drones as much lately. Many times the journey is more satisfying than the destination.

Move Forward Party to Submit 45 Bills for Amendments and New Laws
KhunLA replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It will be a work in progress ... long, but at least started, hopefully. 90 yrs of power transferred to the military/people, and basically nothing has changed in those 90 yrs. Maybe this generation and this administration can start that change ... ... IF ALLOWED -

IF not elected, then nominated and or appointed and approved by elected members of Congress put their by voting US citizens. It is what it is, don't like it, pay attention & vote ... next time. Hopefully there for their qualifications, not their race, religion or gender. Quick quick quick, (don't Google), name your reps in; district, state & federal legislature ... .... yea, that's what I thought ????

Yes it does, with original ฿247k gov't incentive. Seems most new models on the market are only offering ~฿150k Thankfully MG ZS's gov't incentive is still ฿240k, if wanting something shorter & sitting higher ????
