I've had few give me the evil eye, but calves were around, and I was eyeballing them, so fair enough. Aside from that, never had a problem, and wouldn't be concerned myself, as even I could probably outrun one. Wouldn't take my eye off them if nearby or walking past though. Domesticated or not, still a recessive instinct'd wild animal.

Dining out, western food in not cheap, usually. Especially if at a 'farang' managed restaurant. Thai places, not too bad. We cook & dine in mostly, as just do a better job at it. Have a couple favorite local restaurants, and I'll usual order what we can't or won't make at home. Nice just to get out of the house once in a while, and not have to do dishes. Don't agree with folks saying 'meals' start at 40 baht. Plates & bowls of food start at 40 baht, but yet to have 1 fill me up, and count as a meal. A meal out of late, runs about 200 baht for me. Maybe 300 baht, and I won't have to make a sandwich at the house 2 hours later ???? We 'waste' more money on our coffee & sweet tooth stops, as can hit 3-400 baht for 2 of us, easily. That's only a beverage and pastry each, 40-60 X 2 & 65-125 X 2. Pretty much our only vice, as neither of us drink alcohol much, and never out of the house.

Hmm ... my first 2 were in UT, and the first one, I had to ask 3 times, before they agreed to do it. Think they got tired of me asking, but didn't need to get anything from embassy, and pretty sure it was just the blue book, in 'girlfriend's' name (not married), and PP. Same with 2nd one, (UT), as still not married, using just the new blue book & PP. Current one, same, but married, and @ PKK

If you knew what was in the scheme, you wouldn't have made your previous comment, how the system is against the poor. As it would be the poor, subsidizing those making far better salaries. Again, up to $125k a year. How many citizens not having a college degree, not making $50-$125k a year, do you expect to subsidize those college grads making up to $125k a year. Not prob, can't afford all the krap you have, but we'll pay your student loan for you. No deflection there.

So you post an opinion, but didn't read or understand the OP, or the policy it is talking about. Actually, if you search the internet, you'll find more than a few stories of high salaried folks, who simply don't pay back their student loans, especially federal insured loans, as no major repercussions. you pay for, I don't want to If the fed comes after you for repayment, just buy my stuff, w/payments to show you can't afford to repay student loan, as it will burden you lifestyle. The system is screwed up.

Anyone considering the folks who couldn't afford to go to college, or qualify for loan, now working a job, not paying as much as a college grad, who got the loan, education, and now working a better salaried job. They would have been forced, via their tax $$$ to subsidize someone's education, that they couldn't afford for themselves, and to folks making much better salaries, up to $125k a year. Does that sound fair ... ????

Yes, being married seems to makes everything easier, unless getting a divorce without paperwork protecting yourself. Although, 1st & 2nd yellow book, I was not married. Only with current yellow book.

Sold houses in between books, along with living in rentals, and not having yellow books. So no, not transfers and started from scratch. New houses, not done, when old houses sold. Wife not even having her blue book yet for new houses.

Did you read who would get their loans forgiven ? Far from the 'class' that need a hand out on the high end of allowed salary, up to $125k yearly income.

No need to pay more than 5k THB for comfy housing, if that's your choice. Personally I'd choose townhouses over condos, as probably wouldn't use the amenities, (pool/gym) if having. Prefer less neighbors, ground floor entrance, and parking right in front of the house. Usually more m² for the same price w/kitchen for home cooking, vs a condo or rented room, on that low end price point.

That's a complete different experience, and so glad I've lived where I have. Some of these stories, Bkk, Phuket, Patts, Jomtien are just crazy. Things they won't do, or will do, but with silly paperwork required.

They will have a 'support' vehicle, and if on the tail end of the riders, a great help in not getting run over. Even that has not helped some though, as remember reading news-blips of an oops into a group of cyclist. I've driven those routes numerous times, and a few iffy spots I wouldn't want to be cycling at. Nice ride though.

Again, docs care about one thing, if you are male or female, as treatment is different for different ailments that only each may have. Here's to add to the silliness, as if a doc needs to be told, you don't identify with any or multiple genders ????

It's not needed, but I find it very convenient to have. Just saving trips to Imm & paying for a CoR is enough. I've had 3 yellow books, and one of the easiest docs for me to acquire here. Only thing easier to get, was Pink ID, and taking 5 mins at the same office, same day. Not sure why others find it complicated. Simply walk in, ask for it, provide blue book & PP, and walk out with yellow book. Really was that easy each time. Twice in Udon Thani, once at PKK. Some DLT offices, at least my local one, still wanted a CoR to renew DL. So I went to a different one, actually on the way to Imm @ Hua Hin, (100 kms from home) and they accepted the yellow book. Saved me a further drive & 500 baht, along with probably a half to one hr wait at Imm for the CoR. In that aspect, the yellow book has been easier than getting the CoR, as need the same paperwork, actually less, than asking for CoR, as Imm (UT) wanting to see a lease the one time I got one.

Rainy season finally arrived, so out the door for couple O&As. About 10ish days. When home, daily average 30+kWh most of the time. A short stretch, 6ish days, and about 20kWh a day. While O&A, produced about 5.5kWh, and consumed about 4.5kWh a day, to keep 2 frigs and couple lights on.
