Chon Buri Resident Receives Enormous Water Bill
I'm going to guess the decimal was in the wrong place or key was stuck when entering meter reading. 163,000 / 400 baht avg water bill equals 407.5 months or 33.916 years of water. Even if they were piping Fiji water into the house that seems very excessive.

What about this Samsung Washing Machine? Should one buy it?
I bought the same washer but 14 kg size for girlfriends mother. It did not have pump. Had cement and tile pad installed for it to be up higher than drain pipe. It was 6690 week after Christmas. Approx $200 for a Washer is pretty cheap. Only 7 months old but big family and no problems. People talk about all these fancy extra options. Millions of people get by without these options with no problem.

Best tires for Scooter. Michelin, Pirelli, IRC?
I know this is reviving an older thread. I recently changed from the IRC tires. They were good tires for a city like Pattaya if you are not racing around. The reason I changed is the IRC tires developed cracking all around the sidewall (I have many photos) and the date code says they are 2 years and 6 months old, bike parked in shade most of the time. Trying the Michelin City Grip 2 because they seem to offer great all around performance and people say they last a long time. The tire seems to ride a little softer, will see how they perform over 6 months and more.

Pocket money for my son
No time to read all posts. Like people have mentioned better to give him X amount a week and let him learn to budget and not spend money foolishly. Then he would need to ask if he needs to make a bigger purchase or explain how X amount may not be enough.

Shameless Buriram school insists janitor pays 25,000 baht pickup bill
Sorry Mr. "deputy head of Na Pho Subdistrict Municipality. " The 37 year old Toyota needed repairs after you drove it. Worked fine for the Janitor when he left for Bangkok. Seriously though, a 37 year old Toyota needs 25,000 baht or about $704 of repairs. In the US most people would quickly pay this bill if the work justified it.

Motorcycle sales fall 10% as Thai Honda faces sluggish market
June 27th Bangkok Post reported 1,000 factories closed due to flood of cheap imports. Depending on the business the Tax on Foreign Sourced income is definitely having companies analyze the potential impact and make changes. The weaker baht to USD may also be a factor.

Thai police refute claims of substandard bulletproof vests
I haven't seen the photo in question but have seen the YouTuber Edwin Sarkissian shot a vest and they may be confusing the weave of the fabric thinking it looks like plywood. Again have not seen the photo.

Move Forward MP Advocates for Legalising AVs and Sex Toys
Regulated in a shop with it not visible from outside okay. I can see this spreading like Marijuana shops all over the place for everyone to see. I love Thailand and do Not want all the families, friends and children to have the se x toys in view from the sidewalk.

Small dog bite on wrist
I've seen locals use a slingshot in the dogs direction and a stick. As a foreigner the stick is your best option and facing the dog. When you turn around is when they come up behind you to bite.

Uncertainty Surrounds Approval of Thailand's Submarine Deal
No Thai knows how to operate a Submarine. No idea but guessing quality of underwater mapping for structures and objects is pretty dated. Then you are at the mercy of company that foreign government can restrict from exporting parts. This is right up there with the buying new VIP aircraft story.

Pattaya Arrest: Thai Woman Accused of Drugging, Robbing Tourist
One story mentioned them knowing each other for 4 years. All of us would start dropping our guard by then. Temptation of expensive items finally got the best of her again. You display expensive items and you are inviting attention from others, some may think the gold looks better on them.

How close have you come to being electrocuted in Thailand?
Guy hired to replace electric Hob looked at my voltmeter, ignored it and touched the wires to check the electric. On nightly walk the voltage detector was out on the table so decided to test some of the electric poles and wires that are directly on sidewalk. Probably 10% showed high detection level. Thai Massage shop ladies asked and girlfriend told them what I was doing. One moved her motorbike away from the pole.

Withdraw with foreign atm or wise transfer safe 2024(tax wise)?
Just read Por 162 published on 20 November 2023 in Thai Language on the Revenue Departments website. Additionally Foreigners Pay Tax2024.pdf has some pictures indicating what will and will not be taxed. You will need to track and possibly prove it was assessable earned income from prior to Jan 1 2024 so it is Not Taxed when remitted to Thailand

Thanks for all the tips. Girlfriends mother's house has this problem. Clogs up all the spray nozzles. Probably going to look into some type of water system that best reduces the scaling.
