Amsterdam asks ‘wild’ young male British tourists to ‘stay away’
LaosLover replied to webfact's topic in World News
Just make public urination a thousand euro fine. For the brits, public weeing is what they live for. For Americans, Don't Tread On Me is the big freedom statement. For the English, it's Whip It Out. -
A Dem coma victim beat a zillionaire Repub TV star. Endorsed up the wazoo, by name-the-failure. And Penn is a swing state. The next election is going to be sweet. Biden will be quoting The Godfather: "Today, we settle all scores".

My old age heart started racing when I read "bondage" 3 times, but then it turned out not to be the good kind.

On the other hand, full respect for getting a Burnsley bed sit diss and window licker in the same line of text. -
When 11 million of your voters depart from your party registration, you can assume they're more likely to be in the more moderate purple states, rather than deep red states. Typically, the purple states have more electoral votes than the red states. I predict AZ and GA go blue again. The repubs only hope is a civil war with trans people.

Previous thread here have described Jomtien as so crowed with Russians that they are practically standing on top of each other. I read here that 10,000 were arriving weekly in Pattaya alone. Now I learn that a mere 7,000 are overstaying across the entire country -out of 3-4,000 arriving weekly since November -including Ukranians. Can anyone explain the disconnect? Because after all the concern, 7,000 sounds like a rounding error.

Pretending that: 1) Abortion is not going to be a major issue in the election 2) That Republicans are not at a substantial disadvantage on this issue in every poll -partic in swing states -Is simple disingenuous bad faith arguing dressed up as obtuseness. They are like the dog that caught the car. They've used abortion to keep a segment of single issue voters in their column forever. Now the much larger majority of voters who disagree are going to punish them for that -many of whom are moderate republicans. We saw it in the midterms with the Dems keeping the senate because of it. With all of the state-level restrictions being attempted, we'll see it much more dramatically in the next election. Some anti-abortion politicians did win in very red states, but not in purple states. The purple states will decide the election.

11 million repubs reregistered as independents after Jan 6th. They'll most likely sit out the next election. Add in at least a few million disappointed DeSantis fans. Post court cases, expect a few million more to evaporate If even 5% of those people hold their noses and vote for Biden, it's a landslide. Meanwhile, post Roe V Wade overturn, the Dem turnout will be high. Where does Trump find the voters to make up for these defections? First, he had the war against wokeness. Now he has the war against arithmetic.

A million years ago, I did a 3 day thing where you drift around the island by Krabi. It was mainly geared to divers, but it was OK. My bit of cruise research indicates that Vietnam with its long coast line, is a popular cruising idea. My sole cruise experience had me on a boat with lot of black Trump supporters who's whole line of conversation was, "what, I can't be a black Trump supporter"? Me: "Uh, I didn't ask, nobody cares, can you move out of the way of the soft serve ice cream machine now?". If the videos of Chinese people descending on buffet lines like locusts are truthful, I'm not booking an Asian cruise, ever.

When the farang do gooders take over
LaosLover replied to georgegeorgia's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Gotta agree (without the ponderous judgement part). A bi-woman? Possibly a little hot to guys. A bi-guy? Very few takers among Jane-Average; a total groin dryer. But he knows that going in and to forget about the George Michael behind a bush in a park life-phase. -

I just don't get the obsession. I virtually never think about gay people unless The Village People are playing on the radio. Full disclosure: The Indian Guy used to be my neighbor. Even then, I just thought of him as The Indian Guy. If it were The Leatherman? Possibly a different outcome for me. The Construction Worker? Call that one a draw. Trans-wise, the equilivent would be Caitlin Jenner (or whoever). I would defend his/her (whatever) right to be that way, but I would go out of my way to not ever think about him/her with his/her clothes off. People here who worry constantly about what these people are doing or might do are a mystery to me. You would have to actively seek them out to have any involvement with them at all. The Indian Guy? A little stand offish, to be honest. Tho during 9/11, he did know a guy to call up to buy pot from. Unless it's a ladyboy reach around scenario, as has been delightfully explored here a few times, I think it's deranged to give trans people even a passing thought, let alone worrying about if they're going to ruin society. -
How are the Russians paying for it all?
LaosLover replied to Jenkins9039's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I've been thinking about attending a fitness camp (AKA a fat camp). 2 of my inquiries assure me of "no Russians". Unprompted. It's a selling point. I have no issue with Russians even if they love Putin. Even terrible people have the right to dodge bullets. -

Shouldn't the only appropriate response in this girl-friend chasing cohort here be: Please go gay like crazy -more for me? -
It doesn't look like a JoeBlow poster like me can start a topic here anymore, prob a good idea given the feverish delusion I see in this branch, BUT: How does Trump win again in a million years? Who is the person who didn't vote for him the last time who wakes up today and says, "I love what I'm hearing, how can I have more of this?" The last time, there was Obama-fatigue and the very American impulse to try something new. As I, a mere layperson understands it, to win you have to get all the same people as the last time to vote for you, plus some NEW ones. Meanwhile, Captain Popularity has turned Arizona and Georgia at least light blue, against all odds, for the first time in history. I can def see how a ton of soft republican suburban women now toss him under the bus over gun control and abortion. I can see how the young turn out en masse to bin him. Even right wing Chinese people are mad at him for his baffling and stupid anti-Asian racism. Where are the people in sufficient numbers in an epileptic fury over Hunter's laptop to put him over? Can any Trump head here lay out a plausible path to victory for me?

Tucker is like late period Elvis: coasting on the hits, no longer in his right mind. People needed Elvis for the revenue, so nobody said no to him, but everybody knew he was dreck. After he called Trump poison who he passionately hated, he said it was because he got a little emotional after the mid-terms. And his audience bought it. He brings in the revenue, but look who advertises on Fox: Crypto and Pillow salesmen. Never a car company or even a beverage ad. Fox makes their money on the low end of the market, where you never go broke because you never run out of idiots.

Me? Same. I'm in the Cameron Highlands. The air is like Switzerland. I had two small Hitachi's going full time in Chiang Mai. For me, it wasn't down to which air cleaners I wanted, but what I could get in the store, which was not the preferred model everyone is recco-ing. Funny story: my next door neighbor is a dedicated vegan -who's been keeping his windows open for fresh air. We lent him our air purifiers while we're away. Mysteriously, his long-running headaches have gone away. Now he sleeps with one on either side of his head, like headphones.

Love your posts, HeyB. We're in the same church, different pews. My fave righty, would be-funny diss is that liberals are stuck on "Orange Man Bad". Putting imaginary, learning-impaired speech into the mouths of people who disagree with you goes hand in hand with wistful yearning for never going to happen "outrage". The hey day for this was say, 6 months after the election. The world has moved on. If you bought an "I drink Librul Tears" mug to drink coffee in at the office, people just think you're a loser now, not a bold iconoclast. Brits and commonwealth type senior citizens enjoying (by US standards) lavish social safety nets who are in the thrall of someone who would take away their healthcare in a heartbeat are essentially turkeys voting for Christmas.
-
Demo-rats is a daily weak jibe over on Breitbart -where fantasies of librul mental breakdowns abound; like they do with the poster who I quoted, who I generally love -when he's talking about hookers. I'm making fun of low info types who say it -and by extension, you -who can't get even this most obvious of jokes. We're talking: shrieky denials, desperate threats, and now demented, never gonna pass legislation. Sounds like "a meltdown" to me. Biden is dull but worthy, Trump is out of gas, you are searching for a clue.
-
I surf Breitbart for laughs. Also, The American Spectator for deep paleo-Trump goofiness. This belief -also held here by socialist country-born teat suckers cosplaying as Trumpian rednecks- that libruls are in a head-exploding dither due to right wing manliness is a literal wet dream. The dems run next time on abortion and voting rights. 4 years and covid have picked off a few hundred thousand confederate flag goons. A huge cohort of gen Z will hit age 18 and be itching to vote blue. Uh-uh. It aint my side having the meltdown.

Thailand is no longer the Land of smiles.
LaosLover replied to bob smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
A smile from someone you don't know is essentially meaningless and worthless. Who knows for sure what they're smiling about? I say this as a former resident of Appalachia. Smiles are ten a penny walking down any street. But it's usually about loving Jesus - you're just in the way. Me? I like a good kaaaaaa that seems to just trail off. They're still plentiful on the ground.
