  1. I've used this free service for years: https://www.freefilefillableforms.com/home/default.php Easy to use, has all the forms I need - 1040, schedules B and D, schedules 1 and 6, forms 8949 and 2555. Accepts foreign addresses and foreign income without W2.
  2. Surprised he didn't claim it was brake failure during a micro-nap.
  3. Lazada........ https://www.lazada.co.th/products/western-style-incerun-official-store-i1128628977.html?spm=a2o4m.store_product.list.49.291232d5n4ijJj
  4. Wait a minute........didn't they just legalize pot? Amazing!
  5. Didn't this kefuffle occur on January 5th, and hit the news on the 15th? Just asking.
  6. The man said the information would be reliable. He never said it would be truthful.
  7. You've got an eVisa in the database and a print off. That's needed for immigration when you land. The IO will put a stamp in your passport with an "admitted until" date. The police in country may check your passport, they will look for this stamp indicating how long you can legally remain in Thailand. I don't believe they have any need to see your eVisa, but you will of course keep it with your passport. The lady on instagram was extortionated for 27,000 baht. She had a valid visa-on-arrival that the police claimed was not official. They lied.
  8. It could be worse. Much worse. If he'd been caught smoking in public, he'd face a 5000 baht fine. That's so much more than 500 baht and a fruit basket.
  9. I can't see this as legitimate. This was a roadblock set up in the big city teeming with foreigners, with seven cops on site according to the lady, plus all the officers at the station. It's not conceivable that none of them were familiar with a "visa on arrival" stamp. https://livefromalounge.com/thailand-visa-fees-on-arrival-january-2019/thailand-visa-on-arrival-visa-image/
  10. I'm not a lawyer, but....... I assume the separate smaller company is set up to shield the larger corporation from liability. Mamma can't be sued for the actions of the babies. I would wonder why.
  11. Bangkok Bank stopped doing the money transfers using the ACH domestic transfer system a couple years ago. That's why Fidelity removed your linked account. You can still send a free wire transfer from Fidelity by phone, but you may have difficulty sending to a Thai account if not in your name, and you'll have the receiving Thai bank do the currency exchange at a rate favorable to them. You can do a free ACH transfer from Fidelity to Wise online, then Wise can convert at a much better exchange rate and send baht to your thai bank account. Depending on the transfer amount, Wise fee should be offset by the better exchange rate.
  12. Wife took the photo with her cellphone from the balcony. She didn't want to get any closer. The snake was not harmed, it's just the angle of the photo and the way it was trying to wrap around the non-lethal snake-catcher-stick. I released it by a pond near our property where it slithered off into the bush.
  13. You have to admit it appears those technology students HAVE been studying.
  14. What snake is this? I'm guessing (Indonesian) rat snake. Lives in a burrow in our front yard. This one about 1/2 meter long. Had one living under the spirit house about 2 meters long. We have a pond directly behind the house, so plenty of frogs. And rats in the attic.
  15. You say you already have a Thai will with your son as executor. What directions for disposal of assets did you include in your will?
  16. And to translate into English: "higher power" = physics "ask for permission" = read owners manual
  17. Good for TAT! Getting heaps of free publicity in exchange for a visa that costs them nothing.
  18. True in Korat will let foreigners install landline/fiber in their house. The clerk will probably ask to see a work permit, but a call to the head office will grant approval if you can show a bank passbook. We have unlimited package, 399B/month. Free install, router included. Up/download speeds 90-110 mbps.
  19. The article is incorrect. This won't be true high-speed rail. 150-160 will be the top speed in the countryside. Top speed in the urban zones will be around 80 kmph. No worries about road access or crossings. The entire route will be on piers well above ground level. Construction standards should be fine, built by Ital-thai or some chinese company. The scary part comes when you consider.........maintenance.
  20. Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the high-speed bullet-train coming into Hualamphong station.
  21. But the requirement to maintain funds in the account is ongoing. No reason (other than the extra step and 100 baht fee) to complain about them confirming you're still in compliance before transferring the stamps. On the other hand, "technically" they simply refuse to transfer, saying the extension was for the old passport -- a new passport needs a new extension. Sure, the rules might say differently, but as we all know rules are just suggestions, depending on the office.
  22. You added [800K?] after "funds." Did your agent specify that immigration asked to see 800K in the bank, or just "bankbook showing funds?" Seems reasonable that they might want to check the account balance to see if there's actually the required amount sitting in the bank, in which case it would be 400K.
  23. Just to clarify, you have a 30-day visa waiver in your passport expiring soon, and you are using an agent to apply for a 30-day extension? NOT applying for a non-O visa plus extension?
  24. My wife has a Kasikorn account. I regularly log onto her Kbank account to check balances. The TH/EN toggle does work. (using Firefox) Use KBiz to register/log on to your personal accounts. The name is just a marketing thing. A new window will open. Don't know about KBank, but my Bangkok Bank ATM cards don't have my name on them either.
