NoDisplayName replied to NickyLouie's topic in Pattaya
"Your" space? Unless you've got permanent residency, you're "just" another tourist. -

Buy an automotive code scanner - 400-600 baht on lazada. https://www.lazada.co.th/products/i160795565-s193850213.html -
When I mailed packages from China, the clerk told me I should remove any tags with bar codes as the scanners at customs in the receiving country could read them through the packaging. I don't know about that, but we did remove tags and blacked out bar codes to indicate not for sale if the boxes were opened.

It seems from posts in this here forum that the express delivery services like DHL and Fedex get all the attention, and all the customs fees. I've moved to Thailand three times (long story), each time sending large boxes (10-15 kg each) by standard surface mail. The last time relocating with the girlfriend, mailing in year's supply of cosmetics and not available in Thailand stuff, plus some electrical items. Never had a box opened or any customs assessed.

I flew in with two large duffel bags and two huge cardboard bicycle boxes. Loaded onto one trolley, strolled thru "nothing to declare" lane at Suvarnabhumi. None of the staff looked up from playing fruit ninja. Also sent a dozen 12-kg parcels by surface mail to an address with a Thai recipient. Nothing opened by customs, no fees.

Fidelity brokerage account

That may be, but was not mentioned by the rep over the phone. I would assume Fidelity chose the simplest method of prohibiting all online mutual fund sales. I never asked if it were possible to purchase internationally-registered funds over the phone with broker assistance. I was allowed to keep all the mutual funds currently held, but could not make additional purchases. I have since sold all the mutuals and only hold ETF's or individual securities. -

My mistake, you are correct. You can of course sell them. You can still hold the MUTUAL funds you already own, and receive automatic dividends as shares, but you can no longer purchase new mutual funds, or purchase additional shares of the funds you own. No restrictions of ETF's. -
How big? Make sure it's dead, put a concrete pipe coupling around it. Your wife will love her new raised flower bed! Her handsome man is so thoughtful! If a smaller stump, upend a large and lovely clay pot over it and install a small solar beauty light.

Fidelity brokerage account

No provision for foreign address or phone numbers. I'm not sure what it was. Maybe an automated review of activity? Multiple swift transfers to Thailand, little to no domestic activity in the checking account. -
Landlord who refuses to do TM30

I don't believe you can register as "possesser" either, as that would require a rental contract to show control over the property. Without that, you "possess" nothing. My GF registered her rental condo as "possessor" on the Sec.38 app uploading her rental contract, and was then able to register me as residing there. Just checked with the (now) wife. She registered with the rental contract and her ID card. She did not have the owner's ID or the house book. The owner (a bit slower) also registered all six of her apartments at the same time, and emailed us her login and password for the residence. We then had two valid registrations for the same condo. -

Yes, Fidelity is the same still. Their algorithms (?) figured out I'm expat, didn't threaten to close the account, but put restrictions on. Can no longer buy or sell mutual funds, as they are registered for sale only in the US. Still have a US address (parent's address) and phone. Not good enough. I need to appear personally with proof of residence to have the restriction dropped. Some features, like changing your personal data online, require a text-message code to US phone only. In those cases, must call and speak to a live agent. -
That sounds complicated. What sort of documentation requirements will you have to fulfill? Will you have to legalize a copy of your divorce papers so that your embassy can notarize your affidavit for marriage? I can't imagine it being a simple process. What was the problem with signing for the loan with your wife?

We had planned to use the amphur in Bangkapi within walking distance of our old apartment. Learned the man that signed the certificates had died recently, and they were having a substitute from another amphur come in occasionally. We could apply, but would probably wait several months for an appointment. We provided the same documents at the Korat amphur that Bangkapi required. Nothing extra or out of the ordinary asked for. And as it turned out, no witnesses were required.
-
Where is your betrothed from? They tell me you can go to any amphur, but might get better service in someone's hometown. We went to a smaller town outside of Korat, no appointment and no waiting. Went directly to the marriage/divorce desk. Handed over the required papers, waited about 30 minutes for processing, paid 20 baht. Received two lovely certificates.

You want to pick your own stocks, or let a mutual fund manager do it? Bangkok Bank and Kasikorn have a very limited selection of foreign stock mutual funds available. Fees are high. Much better to find an offshore broker. https://www.bangkokbank.com/en/Personal/Save-And-Invest/Mutual-Funds/Foreign-Investment-Funds

Not western style mattress with box springs. https://www.lazada.co.th/products/3-90-180-8-100-i3909202769.html?spm=a2o4m.store_product.list.41.db07637dTG47GI Maybe look for a furniture supplier that makes smaller bunk beds for school dorms.

This is where you need to start looking. What happened? If you didn't change any settings, which of your programs have auto-update enabled? And when was the latest windows update? Doesn't that usually occur during the first week of the month? Maybe do a googles of recent internet postings to see if there are other users complaining of random bits of software suddenly not working properly during the past ten days.
