Is this some installment plan thru the seller where they charge your card each month? In that case, sure, you'll get your VAT back, but only the amount you actually paid. You prolly won't get a refund for future VAT payments.

I read somewhere that the latest Thai reg is for main breaker RCBO. Not worried if I lose all power. If it trips at night, I have flashlights. I can switch off all the MCD's and go from there.

I'll look into ABB, but for now the choice is between Chang and Schneider.

I've got 10 MCB's in the house unit, selection of Schneider, Square D and Chang, with a 2P 63A Schneider main breaker. Would like to replace the main breaker with a 2P 63A RCBO unit. Chang and Schneider appear to be interchangeable. Chang is available locally, Schneider is a bit of a drive. Not sure if I want to order online. No desire to switch out the 10 MCB's. Can live with one RCBO to rule them all. Any reasons NOT to go with the Chang instead of Schneider?

Just how much did you pay for these "bags"?

I won't wear a helmet, makes me look stupid
NoDisplayName replied to scubascuba3's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
Hahah, for the three "confused" members. Many of our local riders buy a full-face helmet, but only wear it when approaching known tea-money stops. At all other times the helmet is worn on their wrist or elbow........to protect their thinkin' parts. -

WISE Fees
NoDisplayName replied to happydreamer's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Before we get our pantyhose in knots;...... I'm sure most of us have WISE convert from USD to THB, send THB to our local bank. This notification is for USD sent via SWIFT. If this were the send THB fee, it would be cheaper for me to send a free SWIFT from my broker, let Bangkok Bank convert to THB. -

Lazada Wallet - reality check. Can foreigners use it?
NoDisplayName replied to connda's topic in General Topics
Had wrong item delivered a couple weeks ago. Went to my orders page to submit return request . Seller didn't respond, system timed out after a couple days. Lazada scheduled pickup (no charge) and full refund was issued, including delivery fee, before returned item was received by seller. Not a store credit, not a voucher. Just plain old baht to the wallet, with no expiration date and no requirement to use at the same store. Over the next week, used those baht to place orders with three other sellers. When you go to checkout, select "lazada wallet" as method of payment. Unfortunately, you can't "top up" without having a bank account linked, and lazada doesn't have the option of partial payment from wallet with remainder cod. -

Refund goes to the wallet, but as of now, still no way for foreigners to transfer from wallet to bank account. Wallet balance can only be used for additional purchases. -

Riders around here are smarties. They know their noggins are hard and dense, but their wrists and elbows are weak and delicate. -
Speeding pickup truck shatters young life in Nonthaburi accident
NoDisplayName replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
But do they? Pickup driver was passing a car parked in the street on the wrong side with that driver appearing to be fetching vittles from a moto-sidecar, at the same time an oncoming scooter was moving into the center of the lane to pass the parked car. Pickup driver would have been focused on that. He's got plenty of valid excuses, doesn't even have to resort to brake failure or micro-sleep. We don't even know if he was speeding........that's just the headline. -
Speeding pickup truck shatters young life in Nonthaburi accident

So..........you're saying the responsible father DIDN'T leave his four-year-old child unattended beside a busy street? Oh, wait.......he DID. Daddy needs to be prosecuted for child abuse and reckless endangerment leading to serious injury or death. Hopefully he can share a jail cell with the hit-n-run pickup driver, and both of them can ponder their life choices. Although truthfully, the pickup driver may have been texting and unaware he'd hit a child, so there's that. When the police eventually locate him, if there's no serious damage to his 2-ton vehicle, a glancing blow might not have made enough noise to be heard over the stereo. -

Partially, yes. But I'd rewrite it to apportion a big helping of blame to the inattentive parent(s) neglecting a four-year-old, allowing him to play in a busy street.- 15 replies

What if I want to return a used car?
NoDisplayName replied to Epidote's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
To be fair, when the OP says he bought from a "tent," one assumes the worst, that being the small lot on the outskirts of town selling cleaned up beaters, literally "polished turds." We all read the stories of lot mechanics filling springs with tennis balls to fix the transmission, JB-welding cracked transmission cases, and repairing rusted out frames with duck tape and spray paint. They'll make all sorts of promises, but once it drives off the lot, it's the buyer's problem.
