  1. I've been looking for VT5 and VT7 on Dongtan beach. I like to walk and there isn't many places with decent walk ways. That's why I like Jomtien / Dongtan area. I hate typical (cheap) condo; long room with one window at far end. I want two windows on opposite sides to get cross ventilation. Does it exist for less than $ 150 000? Where do I get it for less than $ 80 000? Thanks!
  2. I didn't know stats are this depressing for new home buyers: https://www.fool.com/the-ascent/research/average-house-price-state/ Not fun to be young and starting life in Sun shine states when 90% goes for housing.... "Overall, median and mean home prices have made similar gains. Between 1980 and 2020 the median home price has increased by 416% and the mean has increased by 420%."
  3. I don't they are for International calls. International Roaming is supported on your plan and is charged from money in your PayGo wallet. Rates for international roaming are located at ultramobile.com/paygo/international-roaming.
  4. I also have Ultra PayGo $ 3/m deal. I get everything done in two US banks with it. They SMS "security codes" to it to transfer money and don't know I'm overseas. I never use it to talk. That's very expensive from/to overseas. I keep $ 30 in Ultra Wallet with Auto-pay $ 3/month. Cheap & easy.
  5. A friend from LA has had condo in Laughlin, NV for 20+ years and he likes it. Very low fees and casinos have cheap meals (if you don't gamble). No state tax. Hot & dry too. But nothing to see... just desert. Looks like the cheapest place for me if I can stand boredom. Any one been there for longer time than just to visit? I only have made weekend visits whish is OK. 6. 2,5 yrs ago I used this company for 6month visa. It was reliable, cheap (about $ 85) and I could pay by credit card so no risk. I plan to use them again when I need to go. https://www.cheapvietnamvisaonline.com/ And there are many on line companies again to issue visas. Just do your search. The way those cheap visas work is this; They put big groups together and submit all at once to the Vn immigration. Then, after arriving to clearance airport, you just check your name on the list on the window and when they call go to pay "stamping fee" $ 25, then wait and get stamped passport back. I didn't know any on the list (mine was 80% Russins!) but all went smoothly. I wish Thailand would be this easy and cheap!
  7. After done some Zillow scanning I found there's unlimited reasonable places to rent and buy in the US. My own problem and limitation is poor heath if cold and damp so that leaves the most expensive areas only places suitable to buy and I'm not willing to pay $ 500 000 for a shack. Same goes to rent. I easily could accept to rent if reasonable in CA/AZ or HI. Those "dirty farangs" are finding out same; "Even with sky-high real estate prices, US properties are still a relative deal for many international buyers. A typical property costs $28,570 per square meter in Hong Kong, $26,262 in London and $10,947 in Toronto. Meanwhile, it is $8,250 per square meter in San Francisco and just $3,170 in Miami. "
  8. Yes! Specially for Americans. They have forgotten all terrible things war did to them and now we get the most liberal rules for visas. (Of course, they want US dollars... but still) 12m visa for $ 150 and so on. I also met something I never seen in Thailand; Smiling Immigration officer ????
  9. Does anyone know if 45-90 day "visa free" is possible already? Thanks! "There are certain countries that made agreements with the government of Thailand so their citizens can benefit from the visa exemption when entering Thailand as tourists. These tourists are allowed to stay in Thailand for 45 days to 90 days without the need to apply for a tourist visa from the Thai Embassy."
  10. I like SuperRich! Very good rates. Was able to exchange THB (800 000THB) back to Euros. Got shiny new 200e bills which turned to be for real... I first tried in my Bank Bangkok - no go. Just excuses by manager. One lady there took liking to me (?) and whispered; "Go to SuperRich next building". Q: How much is the minimum and maximum per transaction/passport/day? Maximum 800,000 THB for exchange THB to foreign currencies No maximum for exchange foreign currencies to THB
  11. I was thinking opening USD account at Bangkok Bank. They only ask $ 1000 minimum. But also a "letter" from somebody "important" as recommendation. The other thing is they don't list transfers in USD to any place on earth possible. Only "to THB account". I already have regular Saving Account with "stone age" paper book. It has been dormant (Covid) for 3 years. Don't know if there's money and I still can get them out. Nobody answers to my Emails. So, any way to get USD account from overseas? Or just go and ask at the branch? USD account Requirements which I don't have: Passport and one of the following documents: A reference letter issued by one of the following institutes or organizations Embassy or international organization International institution, e.g. pension certificate issued by overseas organization An overseas bank where the customer holds an account sent via SWIFT Trusted individuals such as a Bangkok Bank staff member or customer, government officer, director of a private company, government or private educational institutes located in Thailand trusted by the Bank Trusted companies, e.g., an employment letter from the company if the customer is in the process of applying for a work permit.
  12. I think you and others are right regarding hurricanes lowering prices in Florida, specially on the beach. I didn't think that. I should have because I went by terrible Andrew destruction in Homestead on the way to Key West. It was like war zone... So, no condo on the beach in Florida!
  13. Thank you - again - ubonjoe! You always have very good information ????
  14. Here's all info you need to know; https://vietnamvisa.govt.vn/vietnam-visa-on-arrival/ Be sure to have cash, pics, letter and passport. When I visited first time via HCMC it was confusing; No signs which line of 4 to go (there were hundreds of tourists) and it took over 2 hours to get to the first counter. I asked young Asian (from Taiwan) who guided me through. After giving papers you go to sit and wait to be called to pay. No waiting there. Then to Immigration and you're free. There were only 2 hard working clerks plus cashier but I wasn't in hurry and they were friendly. I liked Dalat very much and will go back soon.
  15. You are right, they are high, but if I pay 100k less that pays higher fees, say $ 200/m, for 41 years... Sample for $ 100 000 condo w $ 300/m fee. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/700-Village-Green-Ct-APT-212-Lake-Worth-FL-33461/2062931107_zpid/ Am I missing something? I could live there.
  16. Having given up to find reasonable condo or house in CA, NV and AZ i started to check FL properties between Ft Lauderdale (good airport) and W. Palm Beach. I put 0 - 100k on Zillow. To my surprise there are PLENTY of nice looking small studios for sale for less than $ 100 000! Why? What's happening in FL? PS. I need an address in the US and short time vacation place.
  17. I usually always take a bus (down 1st floor); "The cheapest from BBK to Pattaya is bus which costs ฿119 and takes 1h 59m." If I can't use it I go up to taxi drop-off level and grab one there. When they pick up there they don't pay airport fee so they offer cheaper ride ????
