Getting Work Permit for company with Thai wife
A friend of mine is an employee of his Thai wife's business. No issues with the WP. This is in Isaan and the business has been trading for maybe 15 years already.

Sneaking around corners on motorbikes
So Britain has as many sh!t drivers as Thailand?? Did I read your post properly. I just spent a dozen days in England and had to avoid three "sh!t drivers" (one particularly persistent idiot was in a car park). It takes me about a month to reach the same tally up here in Nakhon Nowhere.

Sneaking around corners on motorbikes
Context. Motorcycles are involved in around 80% of road traffic accidents, injuries and death. Note how the smart guy in the red pickup easily drove past the "carnage" totally unscathed.

Taiwan seeking answers over hit and run death in Bangkok
Wow... seventy-five quid. Can your friend even afford to get married?

Anyone else hate the shirtless?
If you say so 😮 What I said was........ 'Should be a law against these shirtless, old guys with man boobs'. Why are "old guys with man boobs" renting so much space in your head?

Anyone else hate the shirtless?
And your righteous indignation is just too funny. Thanks!

eVisa uploaded docs issue
The application was submitted last Saturday. How long does it typically take to get a response and/or the visa? My mate says nothing in his email as of yesterday. He got a message from his card company that Kasikorn had taken his money within a few minutes of submitting the application.

Do you have any breakdown assistance ?
Meanwhile, back on topic. https://allianz-assistance.co.th/roadside-assistance/en/ This was the company that roojai contracted their roadside assist to a few years ago. Used them three times for flat battery, jump-start service. Once in parking at Suvarnabhumi airport, once in Pattaya and the last time up in Udon. All very efficient. Then I bought a new battery.

Bye bye Thailand, thanks for nothing!
ROFLMAO...thanks!

Foreigners who order spicy dishes but modify them to be not spicy.
Could be worse, @georgegeorgia gets frustrated when the high temperatures down in Australia reminds him of shirtless foreigners in Thailand. What's wrong with you people?

Anyone else hate the shirtless?
So the high temperature in Australia reminded you of shirtless foreigners back in Thailand. I see.

COVID-19 infections rising, public advised to wear face masks
Yes, seen that as well in the AIS shop and also with airport/airline staff, so it is safe to assume that employees with high interaction with the public are either following their employer's advice or just doing the mask thing anyway.

eVisa uploaded docs issue
Tried that but I was still unable to view the actual docs as uploaded to verify if they were the correct ones. So binned that application and rattled out a new one, paid (with a little pop-up about the service being unavailable, try later) but it shows the application as accepted with the 30 quid payment receipt. We will see what Monday brings.

German backpacker speaks out about rape ordeal on Koh Chang
Meanwhile, back on topic, a SINGLE, YOUNG FEMALE gets sexually assaulted. Now do you honestly think she was "asking for it" like your absurd hypothetical gold chain wearing, money waving nocturnal drunk? What's wrong with you?

German backpacker speaks out about rape ordeal on Koh Chang
The suggestion that her gender and age is some sort of excuse, that's what could possibly go wrong. What's wrong with you?

COVID-19 infections rising, public advised to wear face masks
I am in the UK and there a growing concern about the "100-day cough" formerly known as Whooping cough. https://www.euronews.com/next/2023/12/08/cases-of-100-day-cough-are-rising-in-the-uk-heres-what-you-should-know-about-whooping-coug#:~:text=Cases of whooping cough - sometimes,Health Security Agency (UKHSA). Not a lot of social distancing over here and no masks either.

So how about that racial profiling!
Coming back from a weekend on South Padre with my American girlfriend, we were stopped at an "internal" border patrol checkpoint where they were asking where we were headed; back home to Houston. They weren't too happy that I couldn't produce my UK passport. I wasn't too happy that I was expected to do that when we hadn't even left Texas and I don't look or sound remotely like a Mexican. Meanwhile, back in Thailand, just deal with it.

Best solution all things considered. Thanks!

eVisa uploaded docs issue
Helping a mate do a 60-day TR eVisa online from the UK. The wrong file got picked for the flight info and hotel info got uploaded instead. The yellow edit button allows me to upload the correct file, but the blue view button doesn't open up the file viewer to see if the correct file is in place. It just sits wiith the blue dots going in a circle. Since their website gives a new file name to whatever is uploaded, one can't tell if it replaced the wrong one either. Before we go ahead and pay for the application, just wondering if it is editable or just bin the application and start over. Thanks NL

Residents refusing to pay maintenance in gated village.
I rented a villa on the "dark side" that had transitioned from developer to home-owner's association (HOA) in the months prior to my lease. I observed that involvement was slow (as usual) but garbage collection was the first service to be withdrawn from the few homes that weren't willing to pay for the service. Some of the cheapskates, a mix of Thai and farang, would rather remove their waste using their own vehicles or pay a third party to come and collect it rather than pay the community fees. When the HOA opted to install a full-service 24-hour security system with a card-activated barrier, the 'lock-out' got easier to enforce but I did see a local resident in a late model BMW trying the 'do you know who I am?' malarkey with the guard. The HOA needs to engage with a lawyer and have legal protections. For example, posting the names of the non-compliant home-owners is a fast-track to defamation charges, whereas identifying the delinquent properties by house number or more anonymously as red-colored blocks on a map of the village is more difficult to challenge while havuing the same effect, ie. "We know who you are".

And you seem to have not even bothered to try and watch the video.

Pattaya police explain alleged bribery in child prostitution case
Indeed, unlike me you prefer to howl with the wolves. It doesn't take a lot of balls to to that. And you raised the odious apologist concept of "pedohysteria", very ballsy.
-
Pattaya police explain alleged bribery in child prostitution case
No, because unlike you, we don't stoop to defend what in this instance is so obviously the indefensible.
