It's not all Chinese, Taiwanese and original HK people are fine, the mainland tourists are often rude, loud, bad mannered and disrespectful, the less of them the better.- 100 replies

You are morally entitled to, the fraud is freezing pensions, in some countries, that people have paid into for decades. -
Non Immigrant O Visa - need for onwards ticket?
proton replied to JontS's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
This takes me back, got my visa in 2005. Then an email from TG after booking one way flight saying I would not be able to fly without an ongoing ticket. They ignored emails and phone calls so in the end went to their office in London to ask why not. Nobody in the office except staff, phone ringing all the time not answered- they did not know so rang TG staff at Heathrow who said no problem. They lied and said the rules had just been changed, only travelled with them once after that, customer service was a joke and looks like it still is. -
Netflix Cancels Highly Anticipated Prince Documentary Amid Controversy

No doubt it would have glossed over the drug use as did a complete unknown about Dylan. Only booze and fags were depicted when he wrote most of his early hits, almost all of them, when taking speed. The Dylan film was far better than the soft porn trash which won best film at the Oscars. -
Bangkok Clamps Down on Illegal Sukhumvit Condo Rentals

Airbnb should be banned everywhere, not good for legitimate Hotel businesses, residents or the local communities where most of the homes are rented to tourists trying to save minimal amounts of money. You never know who the hosts are and they can cancel your stay at the last moment. -

Dog Barking Drama: When Neighbourly Conflicts Turn Threatening
proton replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
If you complain all you will get is- All dogs bark, my dog is no worse than the others or the lie about the mutt only barking at threats. When the mrs was head of the village committee a resident came round with an anonymous letter asking him to do something about his dogs barking all day. He said they were just small dogs and he kept them in. When I went up to look at his house the problem was obvious, he was lying. There were 2 dobermans in a cage outside barely big enough for them and they were going crazy. I have every sympathy for the victims of selfish dog owners, which most of them are, but none for the annoying pests if they do get done away with. SIL had a neighbour with over 30 dogs in a small house in the next soi, the noise was incredible, the owner claimed it was his right to have as many stinking annoying mutts as he wanted! -
The Erosion of Equality in British Justice Where Race Plays a Role
proton replied to Social Media's topic in World News
If we are so racist why are foreigners risking death to get into the UK? We ended our slave trade over 200 years ago then patrolled the west African coast freeing slaves sold by AFRICANS. The cost of buying slaves freedom in the colonies from the 1830's was not paid off until this century, Britain was anti slavery well before almost any other nation and it's Empire was a glorious one. -
