  1. With one of these:- https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcThNgExp6_H6SP6qOs9_lMCTGtXPiM86Mb56Q&s https://www.morphyrichards.co.uk/products/mico-microwave-toastie-maker?srsltid=AfmBOopz-_bsLXqp71ooAnws0Bb9InHLcxnks-FuPA2qRTIk-oCfMOn3 Got mine in the UK from Morphy Richards but have similar products on Amazon. I would have thought Lazada would have something similar also. Works perfectly.
  2. I see that you are one of the minority of Aussies who want to become a republic rather than remain a monarchy.
  3. Well that's about as clear as mud. Anyone else none the wiser after reading the article?
  4. Not a Man City fan (Spurs unfortunately....) but collected just over £300 on them this evening. Thought they were due to give someone a spanking so backed them minus 1 goal, minus 2 and minus 3. Never in doubt and the winnings will pay for a few nights out when I travel back to Thailand in a couple of weeks.
  5. 20 baht a day on water isn't going to break the bank and a pad gaprao moo is twelve quid in the UK so your point is?
  6. The other side of that coin is that cheating Brits don't have to be around a complete prick.
  7. I know you are an Aussie, you know you are an Aussie, most posters on this forum know you are an Aussie. So why do you persist with this nonsense?
  8. I have just read a brief article which advised that after 5th April 2025 you will only be able to top up gaps in your NI contribution records for six previous tax years, rather than going back to 2006, as you can currently. Need to get in quick if you plan on making top ups under the current rules.
  9. Who, Aussies? This is about a Brit, not one of yours.....
  10. Not for me. Her knee looks like an old man's face and that is a big no-no for me......
  11. He is so deluded he actually thinks people are going to be upset and view this as some sort of punishment 😂.
  12. One instance when the plastic bag over the head might have been appropriate.
  13. I know that but the OP I was responding to didn't. Hence my post.
  14. Keeps

    New McDonald's

Should do good business from the 'munchies brigade' with that Weed shop right next door.
  15. Ha Ha. I actually responded with a suggestion for Fish and Chips and still made it on to the OP's Ignore list! Hate to think what he would do to those discussing Indian food and German buffets......
  16. Wow. Responding to a topic 11 months later and still trying to 'shoe in' an anti Brit comment. Not sure if you are bored, sad or both.
  17. Agree. Whenever I send money from my UK bank (Barclays) to Thai Kasikorn, Kasikorn deduct 300 baht for their 'fee'.
  18. I would stick to using the term Fish and Chip shop if I were you. Otherwise, people may be confused regarding what you are actually looking for.... usually chippie slang, disapproving. a. : a woman who has multiple sexual partners : a woman who is sexually promiscuous. b. : a woman who engages in sex acts and especially sexual intercourse in exchange for pay : a woman who is a sex worker.
  19. I know that but the OP has never said he wants/needs a new UK bank account from what I have read. He wants a financial outlet that will allow him to deposit funds and subsequently transfer amounts to his Thai bank in the event of an issue with his current UK bank. An international bank account may be a solution to his problem.
  20. I had an upper molar extraction undertaken in Chiang Mai end of November at private clinic. The tooth had split in half and couldn't be repaired. X-ray, injection, extraction, dressings and pain meds. Came to 1,000 baht all in.
  21. Lastly, an article from Which? detailing which banks will allow you to keep your UK account as an overseas expat. It's a bit out of date (November2023) but I would imagine the majority of the information is still applicable:- https://www.which.co.uk/news/article/which-banks-allow-you-to-keep-your-account-as-an-expat-aIiEs1i49WTf
  22. HSBC seem to offer an expat bank account:- https://www.expat.hsbc.com/international-banking/products/bank-account/
  23. Do you mind sharing which UK Bank you currently have an account with? I believe that some will allow you to maintain an account as long as a certain level of funds are held within certain products. For instance, Barclays have their International Banking arm:- https://international.barclays.com/campaign/uk-bib/?cid=mm04soc_sc17bib_ppc_may_refreshppcgeneric_international_account&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5ZLsq8vmigMVkaRQBh2KTgZYEAAYAiAAEgJGsPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds It does not state anywhere that you need to be a UK resident to have this account. In fact, I noticed the following under the 'Important Information' section:- For guidance on rules governing your use, please contact a legal adviser. In particular, this site is not directed to, or intended for use by, residents of the United States, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan or India. I would take from this that there is no problem if you are residing in Thailand. There is a minimum financial requirement of £100,000 but I would imagine they have some 'vanilla' low risk products which may match your income needs. You also mentioned a 'substantial' amount to be deposited. Other UK High Street Banks probably have similar International banking divisions. Worth speaking to an alternative to your current bank so as to not put them on alert that you will be moving overseas until such time you have a suitable arrangement in place.
  24. Pathetic. I assume from this post that you are an 8 year old girl?
  25. His comment regarding Monzo would lead me to believe it is going to be an issue going forward otherwise I would not have mentioned it.
