  1. 65% of all Thai students enter the university and program of their choice... maybe not first choice but that's complicated... The education is largely worthless and the costs aside from international programs nominal. I worked my way thru university. They can get jobs to cover living expenses or just sideline bc they will when they graduate making nothing anyway.
  2. Giving everyone a rajabaht education will do nothing to lift the nation. At least it won't cost much. My only question is as rajabaht grads make about 10k (Chula 14k) pm why bother? Certainly it has nothing to do with the acquisition of knowledge.
  3. Except one is totally legal a d the other is totally illegal. But hey ..
  4. Can I get any encouragement to watch The Man in the high castle? I watched perhaps one episode maybe one and a half and I was bored to tears and thought it utterly stupid. Obviously, some stories start off quite slowly and maybe even a bit disjointed. Second chance?
  5. Raised by wolves. On about ep4. Barely watchable. Hope it gets better bc I'm losing interest fast
  6. Thais walking around in the open air wearing mask/s. Even my wife. Wearing a mask is insane and it always was but now more than ever. Let us just wear masks in common public areas to be civil. What idocy.
  7. Wait! So now you're talking about K visas?? They were perhaps correct all along. Why is it so important for your wife to be with you to pay respects to a father long past, see a step father ... and meet your mother? Answer... Not very. I think you should have done a trip like 50 relatives and 50% sightseeing. Especially with this comment just sounds like you want to cut the line. True or not. A K visa so your foreign wife of a few years can visit one parent. Meanwhile, been already rejected twice. No domestic sightseeing plans in US. Ermm... Maybe NO
  8. I thought the same. 36 and she thought she had a shot at marriage and with two kids. I bet she's spent. Internet must be a field of dreams. Truth to tell I married my wife at 36 but she looked quite young. So much so we got kicked out of three east coast liquor stores (38yo) bc she was carded and didn't bring her passport with her. Ironically, she doesn't even drink ...the morons.
  9. It's not even close to being the same thing. Apples and oranges. Sheesh...
  10. No, not criminal. Has she ever had an American bf? Possible she's applied before? Sounds like she probably dressed appropriately but at same time also sounds like the decision was made on her before she even made it to the window. At this point it could be just a battle against all the negatives. Perhaps a battle against all of the visa denials.
  11. No, it's always only her. Makes sense if you think about it. She was put out before she even fronted up. You might rethink your plans to take her. Maybe something in her past? Your relationship started and has continued in bangkok? Are you living in Nakon Nowhere? Let it go...
  12. The funny thing is that I had always wondered about this. Marriage is states rights. I immediately thought if it's registered at the embassy how could it do me any good whatsoever in any state I might choose to settle if I chose to settle in the United States at all. But I swear ACS asked me this in an email.
  13. Honestly dude, with two strikes I'd not even bother. Why stress more? Just go take care of your family business and come back. Are you sure her background is entirely spotless? Did she make it to an interview and then rejected? I recall when my wife went the first time and had to present herself. We discussed it at length so I can get a feel of what was going on there for the other women. I forget exactly what it was but she noticed quickly who is getting interviews and who was getting the boot. I think one of the things was if they take your passport you probably got the Visa and if they don't then you're out. But it was a very long time ago and I can't recall
  14. While not incorrect here he teaches English and so the ties are negligible at best. The embassy will again either trust the couple or not.
  15. BTW wife rec'd her second B2. The turnaround from app submission to passport in hand was about two weeks. We'd been back about 4-5 times. Was maybe on her 6th trip to US.
  16. For some reason I contacted the embassy related to being married... ACS asked me in an email if I was going to register it with them 2011. I don't know anything more about it and I did check your link briefly. But I'm positive of that. I told them absolutely not. There's no reason to waste my time we're not going to live in the United States ever.
  17. 43yo.. consider herself lucky no Thai man would be interested. Alone on walking street. Obviously she was insulted by the offer and then his retort. Seriously, when I used to live in Pattaya I knew two upscale floozies that wouldn't step foot near the place. Wouldn't even go there with the men who'd paid for their time.
  18. I would absolutely not register your marriage. This is essentially for people that plan to live in US. It accomplishes nothing except to tell the gooperment more about your personal life. Do not do this! If you're planning to remain here why bother to register there... As was stated... the big thing that will help your wife is a letter guaranteeing her job upon return. If it's not in conflict with other documents submitted have it state the duration four years with personal leave if need be All the other stuff and advice is rubbish especially contacting congressman. Land ownership, family... You should also get a letter from your school. The duration, good standing and include the work permit showing that as well. When she's doing the interview (hope) both of you might present a signed letter that you promise to return and going to bury deceased father and visit mother. Two short paragraphs. If you message me I'll give you a last bit of advice. Too bad you didn't marry sooner...
  19. I think the electoral college is a proven success. I understand it's issues and weaknesses. As much as I love the lumpen proletariat I've no interest in them governing me. Which is in part why I'm here or rather... will never return.
  20. But the time span is not in dispute ????
  21. It's worthless. There's nothing that it allows you to do or have that is not available with your passport.
  22. Pink Card = hobby for old men Good on all of you that have made PR and even citizenship!
  23. Who knows... Bipartisan lol. Not surprised. That's why I'm Independent / Libertarian At the presidental level that's just rubbish. It nulls the electoral college. Mob rule. Electoral college does not really exist at state level. I think 40/50 states have popular vote even for senatoral elections now I think about it.
  24. No law. delegates are obligated to vote as their the constituent voters. Nevertheless, they can vote their conscious. In practice it rarely happens. Most states model this but in reality it's merely a formality and the popular vote stands.
