My humble take on all this: don't get married in Thailand, don't invest in Thailand, don't buy a house in Thailand, don't open a bank account in Thailand, etc... Rent an affordable place, have fun, work online for a western company, use an international bank to access your money, get yourself a decent health insurance and that's it ! Honestly, don't even rent a motorbike unless you absolutely must ???? Being pragmatic is often seen as being cynical but in the end, it's the right way to go if you wanna have a smooth ride - it's all about finding the optimal balance between risks and benefits and understanding that Asians don't give a damn about your christian-oriented mindset (idealism is a western concept).

How about prices? Are they able to offer 200THB bottles because it isn't imported or are the prices essentially the same as the rest of what you can find on the market? Just wondering how they decided to play their hand ????

With such high taxes on imports, Thais should be able to start their own production at a very competitive price. Any decent Thai wine out there? Just curious...

Sorry but you really have no idea what you are talking about. The workforce in Thailand is shrinking and the population is ageing. Without foreigners, Thailand is DEAD. It's just a fact. And I'm talking Burmese fishermen, Western retirees, Indian tourists, Japanese business men, you name it...

I'm talking about the kind of girls willing to date and then marry westerners decades older than them to gain power, status, etc... regardless of where they work. Bangkok might be the main destination for people visiting that specific part of the world but that's it.
