A real shame. I am walking around Bangkok Narathiwas area and even tho it looks like I am going back to Canada i still like it here very much. So many nice and quiet areas that are not tourist areas with relatively cheap real estate aboit to get even cheaper.

My wife's family literally came from China on the boat. They are Chinese. Her parents were granted Thai citizenship through some agreement in the 50's, I'm not sure. The last time I went to Phuket, I took one of those minibuses. They stop mid journey to upsell you all kind of prepackaged c$$p. Do you really want to deal with this? At least in Pattaya you don't have to deal with that and the beaches are cleaner.
