Deposit interest rates in Thai banks 2022
Celsius replied to Celsius's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Well, that makes sense. So I am correct in assuming that no bank in Thailand will pay me 5% interest? -
My country raised interest rates. Naturally the savings rates also went up. As a matter of fact back home (where interest rates are still low) I can now get almost 5% on a 1-year deposit. Depositing 500,000 bucks would allow me to live like a medium tier Cheap Charlie in Thailand without touching a principal. I think Thailand interest rates are higher, but they seem to be paying next to nothing on term deposits. Am I correct or am I looking at the wrong places?

In Thailand people are under illusion that prostitutes like them. Most likely due to a language barrier.

I think when you accuse someone of this, you need to provide some facts. Got any? Thought so.

I predict they are going to either go out of business or have to adjust to a local market. A lot of Thais came with fancy cars and were leaving with noodles and coke. Prices are exactly the same as their tops stores which completely negates the point of having a CLUB store. What Thai person is going to pay a membership fee to get a 5% discount? Most of their "imported" non frozen items are on Lazada 30% cheaper. Thais are not stupid shoppers especially now that they are squeezed for money. The foreign management yesterday was completely clueless as to how to adjust to Thai market. I heard them the way they talk to a Thai staff. FAIL

Guys I am at the club now. Expensive! Pics soon

In the pictures there seem to be 2 prices on display. To me that indicates that membership is optional and discount based.

Tops is about to enter a new market segment to compete with Makro. Personally I detest Marko and their low quality products and Tops Club seems to be more in line with Costco in USA and Canada. They will open their first store near Central Rama II. A bit far from where I live now, but wifey has a house there, so maybe I'll go check it out and take some pics.

Another one who bought FORD in Thailand despite most likely being warned not to do it. FORD doesn't even honor their own warranty in Thailand. Probably the worst purchase one can make here....worse than buying a condo....or MG -

Did you seriously write all this with a straight face? -
This store has nothing to do with Thailand. It is just one of many websites owned by xbite and I think their main site is 365games. One of their other sites is shop4world and they ship worldwide for next to nothing, but their packaging is terrible. So if you are ordering something expensive be careful. I think their website is just going through maintenance. They also sell on eBay but they stopped shipping to Thailand for some reason. Zavvi is better because they don't charge shipping per item, but actually combine it.

When I tell waitresses I love them they give me a 500b tip. Sometimes they also pay me to leave. -

Happens every day with.... PayPal Stripe Amazon Payments Transferwise Payoneer Adyen Binance Coinbase etc, etc, etc and etc.... They can all hold your money for whatever reason they please -
Whatever. No not everywhere is rubbish. My real estate back home has 10-year builder warranty and is still standing strong after 30 years, No issues whatsoever. 95% of properties are built like crapola in Thailand, Sri Racha or Bangkok or your hiso neighborhood in Tonglor. Just because some get lucky with a few developments means absolutely nothing. There is no moving of goals, just cold hard facts.

The prices from 30 years ago are up, sure. The prices from 10 years ago are mostly down. 10 years can beconsidered a long term trend. Prices of houses are up from 10 years ago. I'll get on it if I can get info from wifey. In the news yesterday the road in a housing development in Sri racha housing project collapsed swallowing some houses and cars. The buyers have been complaining about the construction problems since the beginning. After 1 year passed developer says not our proplem warranty over. The buyers stuck. Channel 8 news. Some condos on On Nut that are 2 years old literally leaking water from both windows and walls these days due to rainfall. Inspected first hand because I'm looking for a rental in this area due to wife's new job. Awful,. Now I 100% believe you about the condos you mentioned. I just don't believe there are any sales happening at asking prices. Thais are broke, Chinese are not allowed to travel due to money leaving....I mean covid. It's dead!
