Basically, the entire United States Government has become useless to the average citizen. Nothing but a bunch of taxpayer paid office slugs.

Last I heard was that if you did all by the book, after year one of 800K in the bank and 65K per month for one year, you could drop your deposit to 400K on approval. True that UK, Australia, Oz, and USA embassies won't help with the income verification, even if it's government pension/social security. As for the USA, it's because they're lazy government employees that wouldn't have jobs if the government didn't give them one.

Not to bash, but I received new, top of the line (lol) Phonak hearing aids from the Veterans Administration in the USA in August 2022. They didn't make it through the 45 day trial period. Contacted the VA from Thailand. To bad. Contacted Phonak, they didn't even respond. They went in the trash. The one that still works is a different manufacturer, also provided by the VA, but 5 or 6 years old. I plan to use ear phones with my phone when necessary unless someone can point me to a decent hearing aid location in Pattaya. No plans to go back to the US.A

Guess you didn't understand my point. Again ........ The US Embassy, IS, The United States Government. The Social Security Administration IS the United States Government. How is it that the State Department, that runs the EMBASSIES, can't seem to verify SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS ONLY? They can find anything they want to know on the planet, accept for maybe Joe Bidens MILLION$ hidden in his offshore accounts. I'll tell you why they won't do it ............ They're LAZY. That comes from paychecks for doing little to nothing every day of their lives. Move on? I'd did. I'm here with no plans to go back to the dem run pathetic country I left. AND ..... Why is it the US Embassy was happy to take $50 a head to NOTARIZE possibly fake submitted income letters and now that they can actually VERIFY Social Security Benefits legitimately ...... it won't? I believe what the question actually was, is ..... "If my income is a government retirement pension/social security, and is NOT TAXABLE in my country, will I have to pay taxes on it here?" If the Thai government is going to tax my social security, which is not of a sufficient amount to be taxed in America, will I have to pay taxes on it here? If so, as I've stated elsewhere, I'm outta here. It's just the last straw. There are too many other negatives that are required to tolerate. Example: Phil-Health, top tier, $300 a year. Living in a Jomtien condo. We have 2 water machines. I was getting diarrhea. Started putting 2 drops of bleach in each 1.5L bottle before refill. Fixed me right up. If the service guy doesn't clean the lines well, bacteria builds up in the lines. Works for me. I cook with tap water when I boil noodles & such. Getting younger every day.
