How often do you read a tragic news article stating "Cop stops speeding van and writes a ticket just before it crashes and explodes killing all but one". In the USA we have a saying "I carry a gun, because a cops too heavy". They can't be everywhere all at once. Fiction.

Not sure what you mean about reserved appointment. Their sign now says "only 100 applications per day" . That's 75 before lunch and 25 after. The lady said this problem is only at Pattaya for the long wait. She said for faster service go to Rayong or Bangkok. I had a previous appointment I missed because I moved and would've had to do a resident letter, change of address, etc. So I skipped it. It was a month wait for a November 7th appointment. Now, almost 3 months unless I want to go to another location. I have my IDL so it's no biggie for me to wait. But on a visa on arrival w/30 extension and no plan to apply for Non-Imm Visa, I wouldn't bother.

No matter what, you don't have time. I went to Land Transport on Thursday, 1-12, and got my appointment. The soonest date on the "falang" side of signup tent was for April 3rd. Doesn't sound worth even attempting it, to me.

I bought a wallet from a street vendor in 2016 on Walking Street. He told me how real quality they were. I still carry it. It's a great wallet. Cost me 300 Baht. About $10. Has all the bells and whistles, made of horse leather. Made by Imperial. Still going strong. I actually looked at a condo to rent there a few months ago. The owner had 2, both in the front arm facing the sea. The one I looked at was on the North (or Pattaya) side. His renter had swapped and now lived on the opposite side. He literally "baked" from the sun from sunrise to noon or later. Same problem with the other two "wings". They bake all morning or all afternoon depending on the floor level. Almost all seaside units were empty in the north wing from what I could see when I went there. The side I was looking at, according to the owner, didn't get sun until late afternoon. I was quite nice and a great view. Floor 18.

Today is Friday the 13th! Lucky day for me. I finally received my passport back from my agent with a Non-O visa, and retirement stamp until March 2024. Previous comments were correct regarding once they (immigration) had my documents all would eventually be completed. I realize my issue was the stress caused by lack of communication. I actually went to a VERY busy visa agent office and spoke with a rep that was actually English first language regarding how the police would react catching me at a checkpoint without proof that I'm not on overstay. He told me the police would just look at the agent receipt and be done with it. So, as they used to say in one of my favorite cartoons And, thanks for your replies.

A few do, but, it requires extra training and a special "Upper Floor Elevation" permit. They visit my place on the 10th floor all the time.

That's hilarious. If we're all climate deniers, why do Obama & Biden both live in multi-million dollar beachfront homes. Obama's has about an 8 foot elevation. Well, not exactly. I don't believe my agent has let me down. They were previously my landlords condo unit property managers. They have been there a long time. I guess it's safe to say that my concern is most likely linked to lack of communication. When it began, I was told 2 to 3 weeks. Now into week 4, I ask when? All I get in response is "Do not worry", and "No you will not be on overstay". I still get nothing like "Yes, it is coming in 2 or 3 days". With one day to go I'm concerned about being caught in a checkpoint without proof of authorization to be here. I have only a receipt from the agent to CMA. I do not distrust them, I actually like them. My present landlord also has properties managed by them. I'm just used to having my ducks in a row. I cannot do anything I need to do here without my passport. I don't like feeling uncertain about my legality here, it's very stressful.

My receipt is from the agent that notes the purpose, Long Stay Visa, and the amount. I would assume the agent rep was handed the receipt since they have the responsibility to pick up my passport when completed. I will go see my agent and get a copy of the receipt from immigration to carry until they finish. I hope it's done today or tomorrow before my permission ends on Saturday. Thanks for your reply.

I don't need a witness. I have witnesses if one is requested, I need to find out the status on my O-Visa. My stay technically ends Saturday.

I didn't do it for the ease of stress. When I did my first 30 day and my Resident Cert, I had to stand both times for a very long time. My back has "issues" with that. I think they'd think I was crazy if I attempted to pace the floor, through a crowd, for an hour.

I've done that before, about 6 years ago. I left, now I'm back. In 2016 my Non Imm O-A took one day. I've been told that all in country Visas have to go to Bangkok for approval. However, I cannot verify that. It's the first Visa that seems to be the issue, not extending it.

Thanks for the reply. I actually walked into immigration on the 9th, saw my envelope of documents handed over the windows to a "waiting" rep, he came out and took my picture. I was there 2 minutes. I am aware that immigration is very busy now and I'm not trying to reflect that my agent has failed me. It's just that I am in fear of getting stuck in some checkpoint without permission to stay document in my possession. I have a receipt from my agent. I can "hope" that would do, but hope, is kinda like a wish, they don't work either.
