is it just me or does it seem like half of russia has suddenly moved over here since christmas? whats going on? never seen so many in my life. and many seem to be here for the long haul. they must have some rubles in their pockets to stay here chilling on the beach with their families all year. . are they dodging the draft or something? a friend of mine told me he had a chat with a Ruskie who could speak english a few days ago. he said he was a supporter of the war and of putin and Thailand is the only place he can go at the moment since most countries dont want them and Thailand is considered friendly to Russians. go figure.

thanks everyone for the interesting replies. some good ones and some not so good ???? Sadly i fell off the wagon last night and had 2 small bottles of light beer. i think aiming for moderation would be a more achievable goal for myself. i did 6 days without a drink, which for me is PB for at least the last 5/6 years. Enjoy your day people.

hello asean now members. its been a while since I last made a thread here.. so I recently knocked the drink on the head. I'm coming up to a week of sobriety and for me that is a miracle. I usually drink every day but it was getting out of hand. I'm now working on a new project and i'm hoping that will fill the void that alcohol used to occupy. my plan is to never drink another drop again. lofty idea and i certainly know the pitfalls of such an action but I think i can do it. only time will tell. I may need to go on a short course of benzos later this month to help me over the line. i guess the point of this thread is what, if any, goals do you guys have in life? what makes you want to get out of bed in the morning? I personally think that it is important to set yourself goals throughout the day/week or you just end up in a state of stagnation. hope everyone is well on this fine wednesday morning. much love Bob.

I would pay good money to see uncle tu get his backside handed to him on live TV. That would be the tv show of the decade. He will never do it though because he couldn't give a stuff about voters anyway. He already knows he is going to win. -
I can't say I disagree with much of what you have said. Thailand is indeed a bureaucratic nightmare but that's how the Thais like it. Either learn to live with it or the Emergency EXIT door is always open should you wish to use it.

Brexit has cracked Britain’s economic foundations

The UK is on its way to becoming a failed state. Just look at the state of public service sector and inflation, it's a disgrace. I regularly talk to people who live there and they tell me just how bleak their lives really are. Most, if not all whom I know that voted for brexit wishes they could turn back the clock and vote differently. -
a thai would go to the police if they were scammed out of 4,000 baht.

Air quality in 24 districts in Bangkok exceeds standard safety level

same old same old every year. nothing will ever change unless you stop the selfish farmers torching their crops and spewing soot all over the show. sadly getting to the root of the problem is not a skill the Thais are very good at.. -
