    I was there a few months ago, stayed for 6 months. Everyone in Thailand is growing the stuff. How the heck is the US undercutting them... My GF grew several plants at her house and could not give the stuff away there was so much of it. Ridiculous.

    It's called insulation. A new concept said to cut the heat load in half at least. One drawback is it will keep ghosts, and evil spirits from easily leaving. So it has it's drawbacks.

    Think about the guys that pay 800K for a one year extension then have to pay to come and leave... Man these guys are getting hosed. Taking care of a Thai GF or Wife and family allot of times then supporting the government to rip you off. Got to hand it to the Thai's. No stone unturned..

    "and prevent Thai people from spending excessively overseas" It's called capital flight. 10-1 you will see laws put in place to stop the rich from transferring money out of Thailand. It won't be long now before things get really bad! But, you expats from the West don't have to worry. China will step up with a loan and help with the day to day direction of the government.

    Basically you cannot live in Thailand 3-6 months a year if you value your health at all. Funny, I don't seem to see the YouTube shills from Thailand mentioning this, or the government when pushing their agenda, retirement or travel destination.

    From the little I have read about it. The CCP has a very closed monetary system. No matter what the propaganda is you have to open up to be a world currency. Last time China tried that, money flowed out of China so fast they has to stop it. Until China opens up its currency it will never be a world currency. Period! And I personally never see that happening.

    Curious to see how this goes. With Japan having the most advanced fleet in the region and allied with the US , Australia letting the US use its soil for B-52's and intel. China rattling its sabers. Last time I heard China is threatening Australia with Armageddon. Wow. The US and China are building up for a full scale war. Which ever side Thailand goes with you retiree's better hope they pick the right side for your nationality.

    Same here, last time I was up in the hills there was an undercover police officer with in spitting distance just waiting for the farang to head back. I would not even remotely think about it now. All they are looking for now is a big payday from a stupid farang. Those days are gone for good.

    Of course I cannot own land in Thailand ,but here in the US construction materials have doubled and all around me have projects going on. So, if it is in Thailand and the US I would bet it is all over there world.

    Malay's hate the Chinese as well as Vietnam. Malaysia has some very strict rules regarding Chinese people. Don't think that just because the Chinese are the neighbors here they are liked. Thailand is just a catch all for all willing to spend a buck.

    Man gets off plane, looses ability to have rational thoughts. Shows up again in a month with a smile on his face , broke and planning his next trip.
