Very similar but we did it for 8 years and the last 4 or so times we also had to get a form stamped from the council office which had to be signed by the village head man oh and back then I had to get a new embassy letter every year and translated.... in the end I got so angry with it all the wife would deal with it. I remember one time being sent back to get a document then sent back again and yes again instead of being told "You need this, this and this" that was the last straw oh and the photo copies were the wrong way round when they were perfect colour copies.

Tourist arrivals in Thailand surge 43% to 3.1 million in October
BritScot replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
We are already booked for end of March 23. Family of 4 from Edinburgh £3,600 includes pickup and hotel bkk 2 nights. We can live with that. -
Its called history. One of the reasons we left Thailand was waking up to 6 police vehicles full of police: 3 on my drive and 3 infront of my house. All to check if I was living in my house (living there for 8 years) and not working..... Oh and they had the audacity to want a group photo with me. Felt like an arch criminal... wait I left my army uniform in the uk many years ago....

Region 8 Police crank up enforcement on entertainment venues in Phuket

Must be time for renegotiation of donations..... -
You can find depending on what your looking for and who you are buying from. Obviously once it's known Farang the price shoots up. Buying from family/extended family is cheaper also depending on the type of land and the big one TRUST! Our house in Thailand sits on between 2 to 3 Ria of land plus another 6 which was purchased from aunt's etc at about 50k baht each over time. I often saw land coming up for sale at 50k to 100k per rai.

I'm not seeing it that bad. Last month I used under £100 and its looking like this month I will use between £130 ~ £150 and I'm all electric and live in Scotland. I'm more worried about power cuts. Yes there are increases in the cost of living and those on a tight budget are in for a very rough time and those who put a little away for holidays will be using that money now....

Chaiyaphum police steamroller guns and exhausts in show in NE

Looks like scrap! Must have already been stripped of the good exhausts.... -
I think the term Pie in the Sky comes to mind. I am sure much of the figures come from migrant workers returning to thailand as well as expats and yes some tourists but all this nonsense about "Oh times are hard so people will go to Thailand is pure fantasy. The last thing any sane person thinks of is blowing £10,xxx+++ on a 2/3 week holiday in Thailand. You don't blow your savings if your uncertain about the cost of living at home (morgage rate is a very big worry for most). I think inflation in the uk is at 20%.

Yes energy bills are going up but mine aren't high enough to justify the flights to move to our house in Thailand. I have a Smart Meter and it showed my highest day yesterday of £4.50 (normally £3ish) which would predict £150 a month (I'm all electric). My last quarterly bill which I paid in 2 weeks ago was £297 which is less than £100 a month. What is concerning me is the treat of power cuts!

Tourist arrivals in Thailand surge 43% to 3.1 million in October
BritScot replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I must be far poorer than I thought as nearly £6,000 +++ for my family of 2 adults and 2 children was a price my wife wouldn't pay and she is desperate to see her family. We are travelling in March at 1/2 that and even £3,600 and that's far more than it used to be. So I think the answer is NO! -
Have you seen the cost of flights to thailand? People who are flying to Thailand aren't bothered about an extra 5p on a tin of beans....

Naked British man caught wandering around beach on Samui Island

OMG! Really? -
I never understand this quote that is perpetuated "Thailand has never been colonised"!!! Depending how far you go back in history Khmer, India and let us not forgetting in recent historical times Japan and the historical big brother China. If you know grass root thais they inevitably fall into Thai Chinese, Thai Japanese, Thai Chinese or Thai Malay and each group are proud of their heritage. Thailand did not keep any of the old empires out, Thailand was a convenient buffer for them.

Any dog can be vicious and the most loving dog can go from Fido to Cerberus is a split second in the right circumstances. The owner should be competent to train and socialise their dog starting at a couple of months old. The American Pit Bull was known as the Nanny Dog because of its loving, loyal, caring and "Protective" nature. Any dog that bites and draws blood should be immediately put down and its that simple. Note I am a dog lover, I have owned trained and worked my dogs to a high standard yet my dogs were always on the lead except when working.

Lol, calling me woke.... I'm far from it infact the opposite and as for saying I'm a dictator omg! At no point have I told you not to watch. However, I have suggested about anyone who watches this should check their moral compass and I stand by that 100%. Regardless of the quality of the football for your enjoyment you are directly condoning not hundreds but thousands killed and not even mentioning human rights abuse. Crack on and enjoy.

Seeing out the end of your day's in Thailand and you have the money to ride out any storms with good family around you is a good idea. Not all care homes in the uk are bad. My wife worked at one and it took very good care of of the resident's. Its families in the uk that don't have the same feelings for their old.

Says it all.

Try researching and you will see. The fact that it is being held there shows how currupt the organisation is and it should be dissolved. The country is one of the worst human rights violators in the world. I suppose if your OK with numbers like 6,500 migrant workers dying for your pleasure then crack on.
