Chadchart Urges Residents To Get Booster Shot After Covid Count Climbs
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Yes they did! I am sorry but doctors and government around the world were saying this and it was used to push digital ID's. Presenters on TV in the uk especially Dr Hillery who was advising people to wear masks while swiming in the sea....... The Internet never forgets. -
You have confused me (which isn't hard). I miss remembered or confused the territories gifted to thailand by the japanese for being their allie WW2. However I am correct that America prevented war retribution Thailand should have paid (they wanted influence in South Asia). Yes America ploughed vast amounts of money into thailand which I believe should have made thailand as prosperous as Japan and South Korea but the thai elites did what the thai elites do best! I still can't get it out of my head as I'm sure I've read some territories land remained the same (gifted) by Japan.

Iran said to promise Thailand to not target Israelis visiting country

Assassinate is a bit strong I think. If I killed/murdered a rabid dog who had killed hundreds if not thousands of people I would be inclined to be generous with the term euthinise his ass!!! -
Most Esaan Constituents Prefer Thaksin’s Daughter For PM: Poll
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I've read so much over the years and the glee in which many on here cheered when the tanks rolled in. If use all think taksin was currupt then he was a meer novice to this crowd. Facts scream the truth: Taksin drove the country to prosperity, one just has to look at the figures. Apart from GDP growth in double figures (I seem to remember 14%), English language skills and literacy were far higher (just look at the rankings). Under his watch the poor were far better off as were farmers plus us foreigners were treated better (English teachers pay has crashed). The attempted theft of a certain gold mine that backfired and will cost the country billions in compensation then there is the mass exodus of foreigner investment from the country in its aftermath but wait there is more shakedown of toyota over the prius which toyota just pulled the plug on. This cost the country dearly. An auto motive industry that is only one more stupid action away from leaving Thailand. Give me the Taxsins any day of the week over billionaire generals with this fact prove how currupt they are. -
Maybe im wrong so I will apologise but I'm sure I read that in the 1930's The south was part of Malaysia then Japan walked into Thailand and because Thailand joined them they thanked Thailand by giving them the southen provinces. These should have been given back to Malaysia at the end of the war but USA prevented it (declaration of war was lost in the post excuse) as well as war retribution the uk wanted. Think this post well be deleted!!!

IMF expects Thai economy to outperform global peers in 2023
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Never would as there is not many options for women who are left with a child/children: earn or starve so I will never ever decry them. My personal experience of village life was a very high percentage of the village males never seemed to work but not as many women didn't work. I would have put the figure well above 30 percent closer to 40. Just my experience (I also never worked or my wife). -
Agency Taking Action After 1,000 Rai Of Corals Found To Be Diseased
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Eastern Thailand
This breaks my hart. Thailand used to have some of the best scuba dive sites in the world. My favourite in the gulf was Sail Rock. In my 250+ dives in the gulf what I saw was thai destruction of the seas and corals and the life there of. Anchors getting dropped on dive sites as divers below dragging across corals, discarded nets caught on coral, long-tails and boats crossing dive sites and divers below and rubbish in the sea.... I last dove there in 2007 and it was really bad then. You used to beable to see 30/40m+ on a good day. Last dives did on a good day it was but a few meters to a couple. So very sad. -
Netizens Blast Building A Drain Higher Than The Road
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
The question I would simply ask is after seeing roads in Thailand being built: is that the level the road should be with the correct levels/amounts of each layer ie seal coat, surface course, tack coat, binder course, prime coat, base course, sub-base course, compacted sub-grade, and natural sub-grade. I've also never seen a road in the uk meing resurfaced with a micro sprayed layer of tar. -

What has that got to do with my statement? Unless you mean prostitution is informal Labour? However, there is no prostitution in Thailand and if there were it is illegal hence criminal....... -
I think the uk isn't perfect. Legal immigrants are treated like human beings and set paths are available for all plus you are not required to report or have 6 vehicles full of police and immigration police turn up at your door at 8am to check you live at the same address you have lived at for 8 years, have a property book for. There is a big however, I'm very envious of thailand on how they deal with illegal immigrants and have been known to just take someone to the border and send them on their way.

Over 130 cars sold illegally by “car for cash” dealer seized by police
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Maybe but I've never heard of it. The storage would prohibit it as you can't exactly park it in the shop. I just had a look and pawning vehicles I've just found are for luxury/sports/prestigious vehicles not bobs pickup. You can however refinance. -
Over 130 cars sold illegally by “car for cash” dealer seized by police
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Only if they have the V5C document and in the uk anyone can check if there is finance on a vehicle. It is not straightforward and something that is very uncommon in the uk, infact I've never heard of it! -
I found it a pain and after 8 years at the house I built and with a yellow property book in my name having to report like someone on parole never mind the annual duplication of paper work with stupid photos of the family standing outside the house and sitting on the bed. Compare that to the UK.... chalk and cheese.

Uk if it has any outstanding finance on it. Refinancing but stricked financial regulation apply. If a bank lends you money to buy a car/anything and you are not in a financial position to pay back the loan then its the banks fault however if you lie on the application that's fraud and big trouble...... -
