Immigration Police to Revise Visa Extension Criteria
BritScot replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
If true it is shocking but I am not surprised. I/we left for many reasons in 2019 but the straw that broke the camel's back was immigration rules changing almost monthly, the 800k deposit and that big target on your back when criminals/desperate people realise (people have been tortured and murdered for 100k). Then there was the over hanging threat of compulsory insurance and having looked at those costs years before I had decided to buy vehicles cars and big bikes that could be sold in emergencies. When you start getting on in years stability ranks high so the treat of getting kicked out of a country looming over your head because you now don't qualify regardless of the years you've brought 10's of millions of foreign currency into the country matters not!!! No wonder we left by the tens of thousands. Years ago I'm sure I saw a figure of 150000 retirees in Thailand. -
Kuwaiti man arrested on Pha-ngan Island for 16 days of overstay
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
And that attitude was why I told Thai Immigration what they could do with their country. "It's only 800,000 baht"! And yes I had the money but its my money and I'm not about to be told what to do with it and how much I can spend. -
It is not you that the point is about it is the effect on tourists who do not expect to be carted off for not carrying their passport. Yes I used to show my Thai driving licence but people on holiday don't have plus I think under the current context that won't wash! I have had my 40m drive and road our side my house full of police and immigration checking on me at 7.30AM in the morning and I was so angry and it contributed to the decision for us to leave.

This is a forum where people share their opinion. My opinion and experiences are valid and a contribution to the community of Thai visa. The "I have no right" or my contribution isn't worthy" Wow"! I've only been staying in Thailand since 2002, I've lived through 2 coups in Thailand. I've worked as a scuba diving instructor in Kow Tow and experienced the changes on the island. I've worked as a teacher in Bkk and witnessed the changes. My experience with Thailand matters because it's 21 years long. Thailand is not the place it was and it became so unbearable that we left leaving a house we built and family to start again in the uk (a move none of us regret which includes my children). The fact I do not believe tats figures has that experience. The fact I've seen and experienced the great "Hub" Thailand was!!@@

Thai PM hints that he wants to stay on for two more years
BritScot replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
He fixed the lottery. Oh sorry that was another fail. Tried to steal a gold mine. Oh that faild and is going to cost the country millions of $. Brought back democracy. Ups another fail, locked up sanwich eating protesters and students going to protest corruption but he stopped corruption. Not again Its worse now than ever. The economy...mmmm Nope massive fail. He has succeeded in an exodus of foreign investment. -
I'm the opposit I wasn't a big fan but recently I'm a huge fan "bringing back free speech" I do not like the blood cars. However his are far better than the competition. EV on the road in Thailand on mass watch the death toll rise dramatically. The batteries make them so heavy they cut through other cars like butter. (Deaths involving electric cars isn't talked about.. shhhhhh!)

I remember when I would think like that but never ever pick someone up for grammar unless in the classroom and being paid. I'm sure you understood what was ment and got the gist of it. His remark was quite valid when just chatting and not marking exams. I read the article and first thought two people.

Neurologist Worried About Covid-Infected Tots Getting Seizures
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Try looking at uk.gov web site and other medical papers that are coming out instead of listing to the media and politicians (even the USA official organisation) and you may get a shock. Deaths caused by covid of would shock you if you bothered to search. The figure have been published but not reported by main stream media or the majority of our politicians. Just read them it is shocking. -
Freight train derailment in Songkhla Province

My first thought. -
You might be surprised at the number of deaths allowed on an exercise in the British army before End Ex is called (14 is a number I recall). Deaths on major exercises are common. In Germany training in the 1980's deaths commonly happened normally from accident and stupidity like sleeping under a 432 in the rain or being run/reversed over.
