Soldiers in Lopburi camp hospitalised after severe punishment
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Central Thailand News
If you require torture to train then two things may happen in theatre: one, live granade placed in your kit, stray round in your back or two, soldiers will not fight when required. -

Frozen in time: British expats losing out on pensions in Thailand
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
While it is sad every British pensioner would have known this before they became expats. They should have taken steps to avoid this. The easiest step is to move back to the uk for 6 months! Job done!!! -
Frozen in time: British expats losing out on pensions in Thailand
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Your obviously deranged and lacking in knowledge. First illegal immigrants in the uk are not allowed to work so do not pay tax or contribute second, they get tax paid handouts like: free accommodation, free medical/dental (prioritised before tax paying Brits), free money to spend as they wish, free phone, free, free, free more than British people. Infact the hotel barge they turned their noses up at could have homed, greatful homeless veterans. -
Thai tax riddle: Elite Visa holders off the hook?
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Lol! Use are the ones they have their grubby little finger on. The 800/400k banking con, the produce your life history and 6 months bank statements every year and the on parole 90 day reporting. It will become part of your annual reporting documentation "Tax declaration". Easy pickings. Question is: will they Tax your 800k/400k in the bank every year as new income? Welcome to Thailand. -

Murder of Woman Found Bound in Apartment: Dead at Least 3 Days
BritScot replied to Georgealbert's topic in Bangkok News
I never understood this jealousy thing. In my life so far, I've split many times after investing time and money in relationships. Many times I've left with a couple of cases and a black bag or two in the boot of my car. Even having my dog and horse stolen. But, I've never shed a tear and simply enjoyed single life again but ultimately falling into the same trap again and again. Now married to a very good Thai for the past 18 years. The question is would i start crying if it all went up in the air and the answer is, NO! I can survive being single but would hate ending up in a Thai prison. That risk is worth it if my children or wife was intentionally harmed. -
If all the evidence is he arranged the flights for his partner then that's very weak because how many men arrange/book their partners/wives travel arrangements and in most cases pay for said travel? I know I do. Unless this guy has been really stupid with his money, he will most likely still be well healed. However two women from Thailand could quite easily come up with a cunning plan!!!

Father and Son Found Murdered in Pickup Truck in Kalasin's Rice Field
BritScot replied to Georgealbert's topic in Isaan News

Things like"must have said something/done something and I've lived here 20 years and never xxxxx. All the while there are murders in their villages that they never hear about all around them... -
SRT Directed to Expedite Sino-Thai Railway Completion by 2025
BritScot replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
If my memory serves me, this was a dream back in 2004, if not before but no foreign investment/gifted to them. Then quiet till Mz Yingluck tried. However, the generals acted as if it was their great idea. Buying up land making/taking up fantasies of a new eastern economic hub all the while driving out foreign investment from the country. The generals in 2014 held a big ceremony for the start of the High speed railway. Question is: how many inches have they completed of the not so high speed train line and how some bank accounts grew and buy how much? -

Thailand banks could be forced to share hacking costs
BritScot replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
A bank should be held responsible if money is stollen from an account and compensate promptly 100%. UK banks cover upto £80,000+ in your accounts. Credit cards will claw back and compensate dodgy purchase scams. So why can't Thailand and stop charging to take money out of an ATM if in another province, its one country. -

Famous DJ, 63, Arrested for Sexually Assaulting Teenage Girl in Roi Et
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
I feel sorry for the girl but her moral compass seems off a bit plus the strangeness of the story. She has a baby at 15 (so sex at 14) then tries to palm the baby off to a 17 year old boy (if I read the story right) she then wants a man to take her to the police (which her family could take her too) but instead the man has sex with her (stupid idiot and again moral compass way off and criminal). Then reports rape! Or, was it pre planed shake down for money, financial help as has been known to happen. Or, was she taken advantage of (most likely), promises made but then retracted? Poor stupid kid. Don't have sex at 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 or 20, wait till you have a very solid relationship and married or a ring on your finger. Promiscuous sex only benifits Men who will take advantage of it 7 days a week and twice on Sunday's. -
What is wrong with you? Why make such a statement? If anything foreigners who support wives and girlfriends who inturn support families prevent this from happening. Whereas Thai men running off leaving their wife and child causes this to happen. In a country with no support for vulnerable and unemployed these things happen. Desperation! No money no food = starvation and death.

Tourist confronts teen pickpocket in Bangkok’s Sukhumvit Soi 11 - video
BritScot replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Uneducated statement if meaning British! Fact! Great Britain's empire was not suppressed, infact the total opposite. The counties that were in the British Empire were protected and the warlords, caliphates, kingdoms were defeated protecting their people from being taken/sold into slavery or just beheaded on a religious whim. One in India had a policy of beheading over a hundred thousand men and women a year who were not of the same religion. GB left countries far better than when they entered them always. Try doing some world travel and compare. -
Don’t kill the golden goose! Tax reforms may drive away expats
BritScot replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
A very uneducated statement. If you hate expats so much why bother with a site that was originally started for expats? A little education about the people you have zero respect for: first they help the Thai economy with 400k or 800k sitting ideal in a Thai bank account which allows that bank to lend times 10 ie for every expat a bank can lend upto 8 million baht to Thai as expats can't even get a credit card. Those beer soaked expats may well be supporting a wife, children and even family members something many Thai men seem to have problem's with and who often disappears when their wives become pregnant. Other expats may have businesses that employ many Thais and normally those employees are treated far better than their counterparts with Thai bosses. You can also talk about the business all expats support and contribute to from food, restaurants, auto industry and even those expats who partake in the ceedy side of Thailand may partake a little private entertainment which contributes to short time hotels and helps indirectly support those children Thai men have abandoned. Think before you type very arogant and derogatory terms and as a foot note: expats are both male and female!!!! Phew!!!!
