  1. What's so difficult about it? You wave one down, taxi stops, you say 'how much to xyz?' he says '300', you say '200', he says '250', you say 'ok let's go'.
  2. Hanging would be a lot cheaper. They only need a length of rope and a stool. Britain's ridiculous with the way they throw people's taxes away on easily avoidable nonsense.
  3. What a load of b----cks If you think someone who wants to wait until the proper tests have been done on a new drug is an extremist, I've got a bridge to sell you. People who couldn't wait to get injected with an unknown substance are incredibly dim, or brainwashed. Or both.
  4. I smile at them and say hello and usually get nothing back, so I've switched to giving them the evil eye back now. Occasionally I sense that someone's friendly and we have a pleasant exchange but that's rare.
  5. None that I've ever noticed. I've tried them in Thailand and other countries and every time, the price at the end of the ride is higher than the price which the app gave me. I dont trust them at all.
  6. My neighbours aren't too bad but when I'm out and about, the old folk look really grumpy over the last few years. Probably because they're wearing masks but if they had any sense, they wouldn't bother.
  7. Nope. The main interaction I have with Thais is them giving me the evil eye over their mask.
  8. How do you know that? Have you done street interviews or an online poll or something? Whenever I give up smoking weed, I love the smell of a joint. I've heard people who've never smoked say the same thing. I haven't smoke tobacco for years but the smell of a joint is always quite pleasant to me. But...I do understand and accept that some people don't like it.
  9. Transgender means they are transitioning from one sex to the other (not actually possible) The term ladyboy is common in Asia but is offensive to Western trans people because it literally means 'a guy who dresses like a girl'.
  10. Reads like a episode of Banged up abroad. Yet another fail for the great British justice system.
  11. They're not really on the ball with all this gender stuff are they. A ladyboy is a man dressed as a woman. A trans woman is a man who thinks he's a woman.
  12. A Thai friend recently posted a professional looking video saying how proud Thailand was to be 95% Buddhist. Just had a quick look and Cambodia is 97% Buddhist.
  13. Countries which claim to be Buddhist should not be involved in any kind of war
  14. That's what they tell you yeah. I thought I had a good relationship with my younger missus in the Philippines, until I saw her flirting with a young local guy across the street. Another story from Phils; I was at a beach, went swimming, 3 women came towards me, got talking.. one of them ended up almost having full sex with me under the water. Afterwards she told me she was married to an old white guy.
  15. I think you'll find they're attracted to your money and nothing else. Considering the average job is 12 hr shifts for naff all wages, hanging out with an old fart and letting him bang you now and then is an easy gig. I would definitely extend that to Thai wives too.
  16. What do you do? Your life sounds just fine to me. I nearly had something similar in CR but the wife turned out to be a scammer, so I left her.
  17. I had to throw away 250g of good quality bud years ago. Found some mould in the jars, read that smoking it can pass the mould into your lungs and I didn't want to do that to myself or anyone else so it had to go. That was a very surreal moment in my life, especially considering how skint I was
  18. that's not a bad price, if it's any good. It's quite hard to find good charas these days, even when you're in Nepal
  19. I don't remember where I saw it but what does it matter? Some people responded that being told to get over losing their country pissed them off. When you say no one was bothered, I'm guessing you mean you and whoever makes whatever news source you follow?
  20. I need to do some last minute adjustments to my plans because of the closed border. Just want to make sure I'm going to the right place. I arrived 50 days ago with a TR 60 and need to extend for a few weeks. Is it Immigration Division 1 I go to?
  21. I've just started following a guy called Th101uk. Him and his mate discovered a fast food business operating out of a home office controlled migrant hotel. That story went mainstream this week. Apparently, the Brit tax payers put them up in hotels while the government give them loads of money and let them work doing deliveries and fast food. Seems like the corruption runs very deep.
  22. Yeah, just looking into it all. I can cancel the room for free in Siem Reap and if I save the $30 visa to Cambodge and all the travel costs, an extension here works out cheaper.
  23. I heard they blocked that too. But regardless, I'm just weighing up my options. I might extend my visa because I'm leaving in 3 weeks anyway.
  24. Call me a conspiracy theorist but lots of people believe that's always been the plan. Not only in the UK but France, Canada, Australia, Germany etc. Just keep annoying the locals til they snap.
  25. Jeez what a nightmare. I've only just heard of this border crisis and I've got a train to Surin booked and hotels paid for in Siem Reap next week. This country's a pain in the ass to live in with all the constant flip flopping they do with everything.
