  1. that's outrageous discrimination and really pissed me off when I heard about it.
  2. And you probably have a passport from a desirable country and a better income than she can get here. It took me a long time to see the reality of relationships here too, but I've seen it now.
  3. You're a wise man. I came to the same conclusion recently. Why live with all that chaos and be constantly paying for everything if you don't have to?
  4. It's easier to believe that because it'd be humiliating to think anything else, right?
  5. For anyone who still hasn't worked this out, Thai women don't spend time with foreign guys because they're so good looking and charismatic.
  6. Mine was the same. She thought nothing of dumping 20 liters of cold water, just to fill up 10 liters of hot, so that she could use 2 liters of it and leave the rest to go cold. Doesn't that 'I will pay' thing bother you? That's what drove a wedge between me and my ex in the end, because I couldn't stand that attitude.
  7. People I've met all over Asia and the Philippines are descendants of Chinese. All those big red signs you see around the markets are Chinese owned jeweller's and money changers. I think they've had the whole region tied up for a long time.
  8. I was there briefly in 2018 and thought it was so nice, so I planned to come back. Then a year later everyone online was saying it had been destroyed and not to bother. I've been to Chatuchak over the last 2 weekends and the whole market is overrun with groups of Chinese barging into people. Some of the women are very easy on the eye though so it's not all bad.
  9. I'm wondering the same thing, but about mosquitos. My whole apartment is sealed off with mosquito screens. There are no gaps anywhere that I can find but almost every day, there's one or two in here biting my ankles. So I've been wondering if they're coming in via the water supply.
  10. You're on the right track but it's not the gays who are doing all this. It's the trans agenda, which is being pushed all over the western world. The gays are mostly happy to take a back seat these days but you can't go 5 minutes without having some trans propaganda shoved down your throat (for want of a better phrase) edit to add, I do follow this subject non stop on different platforms, but reading through some of the previous posts here reminded me that in Thailand you still can't do same sex marriages, so that's obviously an issue. But the majority of controversy in the west is coming from trans women in sports, changing rooms etc and from very angry and irrational trans activists.
  11. I found a large snake above the door of our outhouse in February. It scared me to death at first and it stayed up there for 2 days so I gave up going in there after a while. When I watched the videos back, I realised it had been up there eating and digesting a large tokay gecko. That thing also used to scare me to death every time I went it there.
  12. This sounds like a great idea. Now all I need to do is find a beautiful doctor.
  13. It's true that I don't know how to explain that subject very well but I do know a hell of a lot more about cannabis than the 'beer good, weed bad' crowd.
  14. On a bike in Bangkok, I can keep moving when other people can't so I'm often the only person going anywhere. And because I'm out in front, I get to choose the smoothest path. But in Pattaya, the roads are so rough with potholes and metal grids everywhere and everyone's in a mad hurry and I'm guessing a lot of them have had a drink too so lots of people cut me up very dangerously.
  15. And they're wrong about that too. There are many different cannabinoids and they work together in harmony. If you isolate THC without CBD for example, things get a bit out of balance. I have some good friends in the UK who've been very involved with this whole subject for decades. Which is the only reason I know so much about it. Every human has cannabinoid receptors in their brain. They only react to cannabis so why would they be there if we're not not meant to ingest the plant? If you believe in God, you should accept that he put all the plants here for us to eat. One of my friends eats only the leaves and seeds of cannabis plants for months at a time because he claims it's the ideal food for our health. Here's the link for anyone who's interested. http://freecannabis.net/cannabis-compendium/cannabis-a-dietary-essential/ And the rest of his story, in which he befriends Howard Marks http://freecannabis.net/contact-free/the-chronicles-of-cannabis/
  16. The main reason there hasn't been any research is because big pharma can't put patent claims on the plant and they prefer to sell us their drugs, so it would be silly of them to prove that a plant, which we can all grow for free, would be beneficial to our health.
  17. A good while ago I was staying with my parents and I made some hemp milk. You make it by sprouting hemp seeds for a day or two, spinning the sprouts in the blender for a minute with some cold water and straining it. You can feel the benefits running through your body almost immediately. My parents were mid 70s at the time and had always been anti cannabis, probably due to the brainwashing you all received in the 50s about the demon weed. Anyway, they tried a small glass of hemp milk, their faces lit up with surprise and then they made hemp milk every morning for years. No THC, no CBD, no drugs whatsoever.
  18. The ones I knew were making a lot of money in a short time and nearly all of them were intelligent and positive people. I think most of them will have realised the situation wasn't stable and invested elsewhere.
  19. You'd get a lot more benefit from the cannabis if you ingested in an oil form in that case. if you're eating it, the benefits are much greater. I suffer from the same kind of problems by the way. If they do outlaw it, could you get some on medical grounds? Eating some cbd before bed really helps me to get a good nights sleep too. I've more or less given up getting high in the daytime now and my main interest is in relaxing at night, because if you get a good night's sleep, that helps with any other medical problems you might have.
  20. I met up with an old guy who'd been selling me weed the year before in Cambodge. Him and his mates invited me to sit down and have a smoke. So I sat down and said "I've given up'' 'Oh, ok, have a beer then.' "I've given that up too'' He then actually said, "You don't drink, don't smoke, what do you do?" Which, if you're in the know was a great song we used to sing and dance to back in the early 80s.
  21. You're not kidding. I keep wanting to bring that up here but feel like I'll just get shouted down by 'the experts'. I cycle everywhere and people either crawl along creepily right up behind me or they're turning left straight after overtaking me right in front of me or they pull out into a main road as if they've only just passed their driving test. So many drivers go so slowly that I overtake them, then they immediately want to overtake me after they've forced me into the middle of the road. I've cycled all over the country but Pattaya was by far the worst. Even Bangkok was easier than that.
  22. I spoke to a couple of Thais in Chiang Rai who said they were legally importing US weed and they did have a lot of US strains. Maybe they just believed it was legal.
  23. 750-1000 was the highest I saw and those are even higher than UK prices. The growers I know in England sell good quality for £10 a gram. Nobody should be paying any more than that imo.
