  1. The World Bank isn't credible. Corruption thru and thru just like the World Health Organization in my opinion.
  2. Why did it take so long to start the evacuation? Two planes? Really? Is that all they can come up with?
  3. I have a will for the cash in the bank and all my personal belongings but THANK YOU for your opinions. End of conversation on this end but you can continue to ramble if you want.
  4. WOW! Another one who wants to decide what I should do with MY money. Incredible.
  5. All I promised was a brown envelope. Don't keep me waiting. I'm on my way. Leaving now.
  6. Once again you think people should do things YOUR way. This "conversation" is over. Enjoy your day. By the way, if a kid can't get by with $1m in addition to their income from their job then they have an issue.
  7. Yes, and the poor WILL get some of it. I bought an annuity so it will all go away when I pass. Thanks for being so judgmental. My money and my decision as what to do with it. You seem to think people need to follow YOUR rules when it comes to THEIR money. Doesn't work that way cowboy. Sorry!!
  8. Deal. I'll be on the corner of the street over by the restaurant in an hour with a big brown envelope for you. You are welcome.
  9. WOW! Unfortunate comment. No, I don't hate everyone. Everyone I know has plenty and don't need anything from me. Your mind certainly works in a very strange way. Thanks for jumping to conclusions. Personally, I don't think anyone "deserves" to be left money. Many rich people are leaving their kids the bare minimum, so they hold a job and contribute to society. I agree with them. I didn't work my tail off for decades to makes someone else's life easy.
  10. My last charge in the US was .072 per KWH until you add in the frivolous Customer and Facilities charges plus taxes. Then it jumps to .147 per KWH. The "charges and taxes" cost more than the actual electricity. Incredible.
  11. I'm not a "spender". Never have been. That's how I was able to retire at 59. As Warren Buffet says.... once a saver, always a saver. I have more income than "outflow" so I suspect you are right and I'll need to start cutting some of it loose on frivolous things or living a fancier lifestyle than I need.
  12. Yes, a will is imperative for everyone. One for your assets in each country where they reside. As for me, I don't want to leave money to anyone so I put most of my money into an annuity that will stop payments when I die and not be continued to anyone else. It's best to check with a good lawyer to have the document put together asap. You never know when the next day will be your last.
  13. It's a personal thing. Some people love to be alone (like me) as there is no one to bother them, make demands, tell them what to do, etc. Doesn't mean I like to be alone ALL the time. I'm just comfortable in my own skin and don't need other people around. I have plenty of friends and acquaintances to hang with when I want but am happy being alone as well. On the other hand, I know plenty of people who simply either hate to be alone or are afraid of being alone. My brother is a prime example. He's been married 3 times and jumped into the next one months after the previous one ended. His first wife was twice as big as him, his 2nd was twice as old as him and the third/current is twice as ugly as him. Once I was visiting them and his wife pulled into the driveway and got out and I thought it was a man. YUCK! I'd rather be castrated than have to have ANYTHING to do with any of them in the bedroom. I often tell people that my parents had another son, but I don't have any siblings. I can't accept that I'm in any way related to that guy.
  14. I'm not angry. I'm just sickened by the likes of people like you. RIP.
  15. prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, community, or institution against a person or people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized. You referred to ALL Native Americans as Tonto. I fictional Native American character on a TV show. I would love to see you walk up to any adult Native American male and call him Tonto just I could see your butt get kicked in a major way. But of course, you wouldn't do that as you're a scared little wimp who thinks he's funny making classless remarks hiding on a msg board.
  16. No, the problem is that you are an unfunny racist loser.
  17. Depends on your weight and how much you consume. Everyone is different. Genetics plays into it too. Irish are well known for being able to handle a lot of booze. Native Americans have a very hard time with alcohol tho. No need to worry about things if you aren't having health issues. I've seen a few interviews with people on their 100th birthday and they are always asked what the secret to their longevity is. One said smoking 3 cigarettes every day and two others said a couple of beers every day.
  18. "Is it just me or is the average expat that lives in Thailand a loser?"......... yea, pretty much just you.
  19. Yea, in the past 30 years the world has changed a LOT(and not for the better). I'm glad I was born when I was because I don't want to see what this crazy world has turned into 30 years from now.
  20. “…those that have earnings from occupation or business abroad or wealth that is located abroad…and has brought these assets into Thailand must factor this into their personal income tax for the year.” "will see all income from abroad taxed as personal income tax regardless of whether it was earned income or savings." So if you transfer money there from your savings you have to pay tax on it. Sounds like the only resort is to use an ATM to withdraw money. The ATM fees will most likely cost less than paying tax on transfers. These jokers are doing all they can to make life more difficult for expats and drive them to other countries. Amazingly stupid decision.
  21. If his competition was a large fat foreigner then there was no way he was going to win a drinking contest.
  22. Apparently, it really wasn't much of a "dilemma" for the guy as he was thinking with the right "head" and chose to end it. Having parents in law like that would mean a constant sucking of his money into their pockets. I applaud this guy for making a great decision.
