An easy way to eliminate the rat problem is for the govt to put a bounty on them. 20 Baht for each dead rat turned in each morning. You'd have hundreds of people out on the street each night collecting the vermin. If they'd force people to place the trash in a sealed container as well that would help.

The Thai military isn't able to successfully protect a pen of chickens from a fox. The Philippines is allowing the US to reopen several military bases there exactly to keep China in check. California had a far lower amount of water in their reservoirs after a 2 decade drought yet it was resolved in a few short months after heavy rains and now they have more water than possibly ever. No need to worry. Things seems to eventually work out with Mother Nature.
