  1. As last time it boils down to picking one out of two evils. Anybody who would chose Biden to represent their country over Trump must be kidding. There are obviously better options. A mature 18 year old student would be a better option. They would still have naive honesty in their mind at least.
  2. Unfortunately, people in society cant put the effort in like you have to protect simple human rights and freedoms. I have little faith in the tiktok masses now. Can you imagine if all the foreigners joined in and visited immigration ministers office to protest. That would cause some action. But like the jewish people, it is not in our culture to organise and fight back.
  3. Its just ive heard "story" from a well educated thai lady that she called the complaints number and demanded service. Her neighbours derilict home and pool was breeding mosquitoes. They came out promptly and got the place sprayed up and cleaned up. It seems they sometimes do do something, but agree that not likely with immigration problems. Probably needs more of a big time hoochie to sort that whopper out.
  4. If you do ring it would be better to get a thai person of some good language skills to call for a bit more ooomph. I cant see them doing much when falang calls but if well spoken thais call they may start to worry.
  5. All fixed. New cluch parts installed. Pretty much rusted bits in clutch. I was able to stay and watch through the whole process. Can tell that this guy has pulled engine parts apart and is real fair mechanic. I bought along UV die to input to make future leaks easy to spot. I recommend all car owners to buy set of ac gauges and learn the basics of car ac to save lots of money. Its not hard, just takes confidence and ability to reason through youtube videos.
  6. No show. Wait 4 years. Then Show.... Time
  7. Any excuse to show Zsa Zsa. I like her.
  8. The worst would be more appropriate. Everyone despises each other here. Everyone of us are horrible trolls : )
  9. Voilence seems to be back in vogue. After all, if you are better than the competitor, you can't lose at anything and life becomes wonderful.
  10. Ashes is over. However. Come back everyone. We have to discuss how well Australia did winning the World Cup and whipping England in the process.
  11. Have you been to The Castle. More sadistic bondage style, so I've been told. Xixi. As for bars closed down or for sale. Grab yourself a 7/11. Heaps closed down and ripe for the picking.
  12. I guess, feeding back in a non smart meter means you get 1 for 1. Yes. Great advantage. If you want to take it a step further, placing a large magnet in front of spinning disc will make it stop. Oops. Sorry i dont know how that got there.
  13. I do agree, thailand should have solar everywhere. If you checkout google terrain view there is hardly any. The government is not supporting it. I disgree regarding cost of equipment. Panels, inverters, and especially batteries are too much and need government subsidy and regulation to stop dodgy equipment for it to be worthwhile to promote the solar industry.
  14. If you give me the specs ill run the numbers. One example is in above post that shows a short period to promote solar. But thats best case dreamland scenario. Modify the numbers to the other end of the spectrum and you will get 20 years. Tell me inverter size and spec. Panel numbers and spec. Battery cost and spec. Tell me the appliances and frequency of usage Theres not one correct answer. If you install yourself and have no failures, and are not cheated on specs then it can work out a lot less than twenty years. If you put blind trust in a company to install a system and are overcharged for bad spec equipment and have to pay for failures then it could easily be 20. In short if you dont have the knowledge already you are taking big risk in trusting others. A lot of money and wasted time when you could just pay a small bill every month. I've installed one small system myself and estimated 10 years payoff. I dont regret doing it but wouldnt do it again or recommend it.
  15. Are you using your AC at all? 200 baht bill on street power suggests you are only using your water heater and cooker.
  16. Allow me to show some rudimentary figures. Example. Excuse me for any mistakes. Cost of electricity in london 34p = 0.34£ 4kw inverter during sunny period 5 hrs per day with 4kw panels. 20kwh per day x 0.34 = 6.8 £ per day. 1 year electricity making value = 365 days x 6.8 £ = 2,482.£ 11,600 spent on system/ 2,482 = 4.68 years. Sounds great BUT... In reality, inverters may not work up to exact 4kw. Sunshine may be less than 5hr a day on average throughout the year. Feed in Tarrif may be a lot less than 1 for 1. In Auatralia its about 7 times less Battery degradation and replacements. Faulty equipment replacements if warranty not honoured. The above could dramatically change the pay off period to be many years more. Anyway, If you have made precise calculations over the period using actual invoices then 7 years is good.
  17. You can have my 38sq condo. 850,000 bht and she's yours.
  18. You make very good points. I was thinking similar. What if the 14 million decided to make their own territory, army, tax system.
  19. I'm wondering if there will ever be a North Thailand and South Thailand countries deal.
  20. Payback 4 years. Can you show the math on that setup? Dont mean to be rude but that seems way off.
  21. Unless you are setting up as an electronic enthusiast yourself or its a must because house has no power from the street its not worth it. The payoff period is around the 20 year period. Reliability of electronics, cost of panels and inverter and batteries. There is no government support like in other countries. Put your money elsewhere such as high efficiency appliances and insulation. Solar is just a gimmick here in Thailand.
  22. Ok ladies. Went to seri as second attempt. They quoted 11000 baht to replace compressor. Didnt want to investigate clutch problem. But i persisted and went to the dark side. Third time charm. A place hikool on google maps. Go all the way down soi kao noi and turn off. So this chap in hidden away area seemed to be the real deal. He showed me that centre nut on compressor was not spinning when clutch engaged and he said can repair clutch 2500. Im going back in couple days to get the job done. Ill ley yous all know soon. It seems all on sukhumvit hunt for the dollar.
  23. And making sure not any longer.
