‘Big Joke’ Jeered For Literally Kneeling Before Potjaman
TimeMachine replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Good to see all things looking rosy. Thaksins back. Prayut had a good run and left happy. Crowds staying away from picnics. All peaceful. Beautiful ! -
Agreed. That's one sides argument. The other side is saying something like. Israel is encroaching slowly on areas that is not open to be encroached upon. So Palestinian side is fighting back. Something like that. I'm not a know it all on the topic, but I hear both sides and have read small amounts of history. So I'm open to criticism.

Wow. Evil knows no bounds I guess. I cannot say I'm good because I'm Australian as there are probably some pretty evil Aussies. Well I know there is so, I guess evil Israelis do exist. Why does it seem evil is growing in this world now. It was so rosy in the 80s. Haha. Just kidding

High electric bill
TimeMachine replied to DonniePeverley's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
Yes. Or plug in everything and see the meter spinning like crazy. Turn of items one by one while checking. Isolate the hungry items. Most likely AC units especially if non inverter type. -
Using earthed computer cord with unearthed power outlet
TimeMachine replied to george's topic in The Electrical Forum
It won't stop the tingle it will stop the deadly current if the problem gets to be a heavier current. If you can guarantee it stays at a tingle then that's not a problem. Add crocs to the list. -
Enough hassle day to day. Don't need to add more. Deal with what you got. Hello darling , you look wonderful today. See you for dinner. Sleep. Repeat.

Using earthed computer cord with unearthed power outlet
TimeMachine replied to george's topic in The Electrical Forum
All things considered above. The different actions explained by all are warranted. Using a device that zaps you may feel like a fun novelty at the time. But if no remedies are found I would not suggest just keep using the device as it is. Unless death is just an accepted albeit unlikely option. 1.sort out Earthing. 2.install RCBO breaker in switchboard or atleast plug in rcbo adapter. 3.remedy device so it doesn't zap. One of the above. My preference is rcbo. -
Using earthed computer cord with unearthed power outlet
TimeMachine replied to george's topic in The Electrical Forum
That's why I mention rcbo. If the problem is ignored and it is a more dangerous issue with rcbo installed the chap lives. Otherwise, open the chassis and investigate because unlucky as it seems if it's a problem that can leak more voltage at the chassis to pass more current through the body the chap could kark it in their pants. -

Why not a leaky capacitor that's failed or a frayed burnt cable leaning up against the case? Has the chap opened the casing to check and make sure? -

TimeMachine replied to george's topic in The Electrical Forum
Yeah. It's concerning if any chassis should pass current to you. If the resistance of the path from live to chassis should decrease then it gets dangerous without knowing the leakage path. I've got a convection style microwave that zaps me a bit. I know the element is the cause and I have rcbo so I know I won't die. But this chap should get the appliance grounded or rcbo. Keep safe chaps. -

I'm curious. Is there earth leakage safety cut breakers at the location? The breakers that have the push button on them. -
I guess suspicion is that compressor is not pumping to pressure or low on gas. The tech will attach gauges and confirm pressure and probably have an ear for knowing what the sound suggests. If just on startup could even be something to do with a startup capacitor affecting compressor.

Im guessing some are hiding their solar as an off grid with the old spinning disk. I wouldn't dare do such a thing. If I recall correctly , a person has stated after being found out they simply put in a smart meter. Hello! Is that person around? Can u confirm. Not enough feedback yet for me to know how aggressive the rules are, especially out in the sticks

I don't want to put the kodbosch on your system but the risk of early failure of batteries is still a possibility. Let us know in 10 years the cost of another lot of batteries and how the actual sums have turned out. You can do the math to make it look good. You can do the math to make it look bad. Time will tell. I am guessing that prices are coming down slowly and my feeling changes slightly over time and hope it becomes more of an easier decision to do solar. If you are not savvy on all the details be wary to do solar. Talk to people that have had it for awhile. I don't deny some would end up lucky.
-
There are quite a few negatives that kill the good in solar. I still stand by my recommendation of forgetting about solar in Thailand because of the lack of support for it by government, the expensive and need of replacement of battery , reliability of equipment, unfairness of elec authority pricing. It's just a big gamble. I would put the money in energy saving stuff like extra insulation, double glazing, efficient electronics. I would install just the most basic backup off grid 2 panel 200ah lead acid battery system to run a fan and light for when the power goes out if that's important. The days of the 10 amp AC are gone anyway. Unfortunately, governments prefer supporting selling electricity. Just go with the flow.

Just a small tip that may save u hassle or at least help diagnose exactly what's going on.. Inspect your filters on indoor unit. Easy to do. And inspect the coil on outdoor unit. If either is very grimy it will affect cooling. Does outdoor unit make more noise than usual? Can you hear or see the indoor unit fan spinning normally.

Not completely , you put extra detail. No I don't completely agree with the premise of what you are saying, because the Israel situation is not a single daughter being raped of mine. Or the repetitive atrocity of your example. It involves something far more reaching and involving many more people who are revengeful and atrocities being perpetrated on both sides most likely that we can know mostly sketchy details of. So , we have conflicting views over a small discussion. Imagine if we were neighbours how life difficult could be. And the solution. I agree with you or you agree with me. No, not likely. The solution, I don't know. Personally , I would move out and buy another house. But Israelis and Palestinians probably don't have that option. I find different races/cultures have slightly different mindsets and handle disputes differently. I think both sides are making mistakes and highlighting the disgusting nature of humanity.
-
Sure. There is no rule to knowing what is correct reasoning of morality. You have given your reaction to your example, but not all would agree to conclude like you. I used to use the term common sense, but can't anymore. I would think it be common sense not to have Joe Biden as President of the most powerful nation on the planet. But he is says I am insane or the lines are moving.

Light coloured or dark coloured car choice.
TimeMachine replied to Asquith Production's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
I find white cars show the settling dust, and swirly scratches less than black cars. I find grey and black cars are harder to spot on the road i and wondering if there are statistics on accidents with black compared to white cars. As for heat , can't seem to tell any difference myself. -
Actually I find it all very vague. Probably because it's coming from media and other onlookers. I see two vague stories and understand each had a right to be upset with each other. My final thought as it stands now is that Israel are kind of saying eff it, lets kill em all. Much like US when they went into Iraq as retaliation for being pissed off with a group of evil trouble makers. Another response from Israel could be to stick with defensive and weed out Hamas over time thus saving innocent lives. So next time armed Hamas soldiers attacked they could kill directly them same soldiers. I know it's a slower and more difficult way, but again , at the cost of innocent lives. The idea of breaking an egg to make an omellete doesn't work with human lives. Again, in my opinion. There is no perfect scenario I suppose.
-
Sure , but still think knowing what retaliation is for is important. For example , if someone raped my daughter I would do horrendous things to that person that would make me seem quite evil. Anybody can be driven to do evil things. So we definitely must study the cause and affects further in my opinion. If I was judge and juror I would want to know the full story as best I could.
-
Let's say the Israeli government has done something to upset Hamas. I mean before the Hamas attack. Something that made Hamas do what they did. What were those things? Are Hamas explaining well enough? Is it land issue? Or religious issue? All of the above? At the moment I see both sides capable of killing in retaliation. So one retaliation is justified? Which one? Both?

I didn't give advice to not get a return flight. In fact I tell my friend that he may face problems. I'm just stating what's been happening. It does seem that they have been ignoring the rule and "MY ADVICE" is you should be vary careful going into Thailand without a visa and not having a return flight. Better?
