Bad not necessarily bad? A while ago I was reading there is new research and testing done in US in regards to the bad type of cholesterol having two different parts to it , bad bad cholesterol and bad good cholesterol. Anyone followed up on that type of research? I asked Australian doctor about it a long time ago but he said it's only new and in America where testing is being done.

As far as I'm aware in Pattaya at least falang cannot register wills anymore. They changed the rule years back. I have a bit of anxiety wondering if my partner will face any problems when I'm gone. Actually I have no faith in the system and as I age I will transfer my wealth away and liquidate all assets. I have an exit date set for myself. I plan to exit on my 75th bday. I hope I don't get hit by a bus before that.

I've installed 5 hisense inverter. All still working fine. The initial reason was because the reviews on several sites including product review au was excellent. One of the model is HAWV12KR. 12000 btu. They go on sale at big C. Around 8990 is a decent price. I saw there was a TCL for 7990 a few months back that I would not hesitate in trying.

Yeah. In Australia no need for a lawyer. You can do probate by yourself online for free. Not sure why two officials are needed in Thailand. A lawyer and a judge are compulsory. I'm wondering how much the actual court fee is to have the honour of talking to a judge? I was offered to sit in some court cases while visiting at the Pattaya court house, but passed. Didn't think it was a good idea to intrude on others private matters.

Have you had time to check the thermistors. If it started after cleaning it may be that thermistors have been knocked off their perch.

Heading to Japan, TOMORROW...

Isn't that the ball stretching? -
Replace Hamas with British Empire and Islamist with Christian and caliphate with empire. We humans are all the same. Mine mine mine want want want. There are more examples but just to be clear, I'm against humanity as a whole. Not on any one side.

Marrying a 17 year old Thai girl in the village
TimeMachine replied to Adumbration's topic in Marriage and Divorce
Younger than 15 out in the villages can be ok if approved by all parties. It happens, but not sure what central Bangkok authorities have to say about it. I've read 15 is the legal age for adult behaviours. I don't like it. Too young in my opinion. Should be 28. -
Humans killing humans. That innate desire to take as much for yourself. From each according to his religion, to each according to his land.

My preferences would be for lg or hisense. But it's good to see reviews on internet without being to critical. For every complaint probably 1000 happy with their purchase. I would stay away from Samsung but nowadays all will be similar. As they say, to one's own choose a mobile phone.

Inverter AC also has dry mode function to efficiently reduce humidity. There should be no difference. Inverter AC cannot remove humidity same as non inverter is not something I would trust. But like you say if that's what you experienced I can't understand why. The inverter can run just as hard as a non inverter when it needs to such as in dry mode.

There shouldn't be any difference between a 9000 btu inverter and a 9000 btu standard. Their cooling capacity should be the same. If the inverter types could not cool I suggest that they were speced incorrectly, faulty batch, low on gas, installed with errors , undersized etc.
-
Newer inverter type AC would bring up an error code if there was a problem with the thermostat. I'm guessing you have a standard type. If so upgrade to a new inverter type. You will get your money back in electricity savings. It's not worth spending money on an old type AC. If on the other hand you already have an inverter type can you tell what the model number is?

I used the women's toilet today
TimeMachine replied to Chris Daley's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
All good. I'm ok with whatever after visiting men's toilets and have female cleaners come in while I'm whizzing. It's all completely natural. We all peep and poop! -
There is more details to discuss when bringing up wills for discussion. But to keep it short, I recommend you go to your local court house. I went to Pattaya provincial court and there on level 2 is the help office. I have visited there and discussed all details about probate application. I did my own will. For my situation probate was quoted at 30k by a lawyer there whereas Magna carta wanted 130k. So a lawyer situated at the court will most likely help you out at a reasonable rate. Probably helps if you go with someone who speaks Thai and English well.

Looking For Knowledgeable Auto Mechanic For old Car
TimeMachine replied to bhatmasterson's topic in Chiang Mai
I can recommend a good old school truatworthy mechanic on dark side of Pattaya. I could tell he was honest. Sukhumvit rd mechanics are charging high for unnecessary work. They wanted to replace compressor at 10,000 baht but Instead new guy said no need. 2000 baht to replace clutch only. PM me if dark side pattaya is convenient for you and I'll look up details for you. -
Haha. Sorry. Actually I have a bag on my kitchen bench and have an orange a day. It keeps the doctor away.
-
I guess there lies the problem. We can agree to disagree. That's always a good way to settle. I don't think we can end up convincing each other.
-
Yes you can but you can't offend people while doing it by saying others talk nonsense.

Keep the wrinkles in it champ. Everybody can give their opinions.

Driving Licence Renewal - Certificate of Residency - Problems
TimeMachine replied to peter267's topic in Central Thailand
Just letting you know if you have your own country's drivers licence you can get an international driver's licence if part of the group that provides and accepts to them. The proviso is that your "usual" place of residence must be your home country. If you assign your usual address as Thai you should get a Thai licence. A lot of grey area there. Don't think any police officer is going to argue that last point with you when you hand over international licence along with your home licence. They will sight them and say on your way sunshine. The term "usual" does not have the meaning of the most time. So you can stay in Thailand 1 year but still have your usual address legally as your home country. If there are time restrictions for certain countries they will be stated clearly. -
Pita Shares TIME100 Next Honour With All Thais
TimeMachine replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I'm glad the chap has moved on. He was prepared for the fight, but the people could not keep up. He should enjoy his life now. He has done enough and showed what is possible and more importantly what is not possible. -
Did you write this just after visiting immigration? The trick is this, pretend you are in severe headache pain and it digs deep into their compassion sensors and your treatment should improve. For the tough ones you may need to fall to the ground and fake a heart attack.

You are not wrong but you need to read between the lines. The overall policy of Thailand is to limit importing and stick with the Thai manufacturing, services and products. Thailand is very protective of its brand and fairly so. But at a price. Lack of choice. I have no idea on exact details on oranges but I do know that if I tried to import a container of navel oranges into Thailand it would be impossible without paying massive paper bag money first.
