  1. But you need to be fluent in Thai for most jobs except English teacher? Does anyone have a list of jobs available for non-Thais? I saw a foreigner working as a real estate agent, FYI for OP. You may consider that. Not sure if Thai fluency is expected as most people renting those condos are foreigners.
  2. Yes, I was going to touch on that. You make excellent comments. Maybe we can never fully trust AI? So assuming Big Pharma is controlling AI ... but I just asked ChatGPT a question and it's not censoring information that is contrary to Big Pharma or what your doctor tells you, except it urges you to consult your doctor.
  3. best time to invest in the stock market is when there is blood in the streets. (joke, joke)
  4. No, I don't know what is really going on. I'm suggesting that no one except the puppet masters do. This whole Putin/Ukraine thing is so weird that I wouldnt take much at face value. Trump made an appearance in the WWF at one point. The politics in the news is a lot of fakery, just like WWF. Maybe they pretend to be enemies and then go for drinks behind the scenes. Bodyslam! Hostile takeover!
  5. yes that's right. trump is 15 moves ahead and anyone who tries to understand whats going on by clinging to every news article is a sucka. you dont know what theyre doing or why they're doing it. the entire article headline sounds like a joke to me ... pissed off and angry.
  6. Restaurants hate me because I rarely order drinks. And drinks are probably their biggest profit margins and no effort required. I hydrate at home. And just order the food there.
  7. Street vendors are not even allowed where I come from. It's to protect restaurants for sure. Bu then again, there isn't as much disparity and lower class people who can't afford restaurants. I don't go to restaurants very often. Now people think they should be able to afford eating out every day. I only eat out once in a while and I don't lose sleep over the prices. The food stalls are mostly a waste of money. Or maybe OK for an ocassional indulgence. A 50 baht pad thai doesn't do it for me. There's probably less than 10 grams of protein in there. I can't survive on that and would rather grab stuff from the supermarket. I popped into a bar. One bar girl said she used to work as a cook in restaurant in Bangkok, but it closed down after Covid. So she ended up in the bar to survive. Everybody's Got a Story.
  8. Good topic, I have also thought about this topic. Presumably AI will work only in the best interests of people and will not be corrupted to be profit-driven as is the case currently with the medical system. Then it's quite possible that the future of medicine will look very different, where corruption will be stamped out. Also, you can query AI and it will have access to all the latest science, whereas your local doctor may not be up to date with everything. Also, regarding surgeries, even the best surgeons might make mistakes and only be perfect 99 per cent of the time. But a robotic surgeon might be better than the best surgeons in the world and available in every corner of the world. Medicine will get interesting with AI.
  9. Ha ... the more educated less evil doppelganger twin of Harrisfan?
  10. harrisfan conspicuously took his first day off the forum since covid?
  11. It's not always easy to discern if something is good or bad. Here, feel free to debate with the Finnish president on this one. Finnish President Thinks It's a "Good Thing" that Trump is Making Europe More Self-Reliant
  12. You can enjoy yourself without buying the most expensive equipment. And there are some interesting gadgets out there, like binoculars with built-in camera which might be good for birds. https://www.lazada.co.th/products/bekintek-10x25-digital-camcorder-binoculars-with-2-lcd-10x-optical-zoom-8x-digital-zoom-40mp-photo-25k-video-recoder-camera-for-bird-watching-concerts-sports-outside-i5340268498-s22696212616.html?c=&channelLpJumpArgs=&clickTrackInfo=query%3Abinocular%2Bwith%2Bcamera%3Bnid%3A5340268498%3Bsrc%3ALazadaMainSrp%3Brn%3A7a76d5a0cf3129bfa84194f0f0ccfbac%3Bregion%3Ath%3Bsku%3A5340268498_TH%3Bprice%3A2200%3Bclient%3Adesktop%3Bsupplier_id%3A100827216019%3Bbiz_source%3Ah5_hp%3Bslot%3A3%3Butlog_bucket_id%3A470687%3Basc_category_id%3A6096%3Bitem_id%3A5340268498%3Bsku_id%3A22696212616%3Bshop_id%3A4868466%3BtemplateInfo%3A107882_D_E%23116176_A0%231104_L%23-1_A3_C%23&freeshipping=1&fs_ab=2&fuse_fs=&lang=en&location=China&price=2.2E 3&priceCompare=skuId%3A22696212616%3Bsource%3Alazada-search-voucher%3Bsn%3A7a76d5a0cf3129bfa84194f0f0ccfbac%3BoriginPrice%3A220000%3BdisplayPrice%3A220000%3BsinglePromotionId%3A-1%3BsingleToolCode%3AmockedSalePrice%3BvoucherPricePlugin%3A0%3Btimestamp%3A1743328923525&ratingscore=&request_id=7a76d5a0cf3129bfa84194f0f0ccfbac&review=&sale=0&search=1&source=search&spm=a2o4m.searchlist.list.3&stock=1
  13. A farang started talking to me at the supermarket. I wasn't going to be rude and not talk to him. So we chatted for 15 minutes. He was telling me his whole life story, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Some people have had interesting experiences. But then he wanted me to go out for drinks with a bunch of his buddies, which is when I bowed out. I don't like to mingle with half the expat population close to where I'm living. People start to know too much about you, interfere in your life, jealousy, backstabbing, wasting time and money drinking in bars. and then it's hard to extricate yourself. When you make a bunch of "friends" in the real world, you have to constantly watch your back because you can't really trust people. Online, it's anonymous and it suits me better. Online communication doesn't have all these problems, and I am constantly on blogs, so I keep an extra tab open on AN. That's one reason I'm on here so much. Harrisfan doesn't bother me that much. Keep in mind he was orphaned, so maybe have some sympathy for him. But happy and fulfilled are strong words.
  14. ungodly hour, slippery character ... ha ha ... nice job chatGPT. you sound like a real journalist
  15. thanks for reminding me. i need to get a rabies shot. these stray dogs seems docile, but you never know when one might be in a bad mood. yes, but you also moved to thailand? the sunshine, warm weather and vitamin D is half the battle, if not 80 per cent the problem. most people in cold countries might be better off with 5000 IUs of Vitamin D in the winter than the flu shot.
  16. No, I cannot be sure. It's possible I guess. But they did not take care of their health at all. And realistically, they should have died much sooner if not for the concoction of pharmaceuticals they were on for many years. I'm trying to avoid all of that, but it's hard work. You gotta skip the donuts.
  17. Personally, I don't plan to ever take a flu shot. But my parents took it for years and years and years. It wasn't the flu shots that killed them. It was good ol' fashioned chronic illnesses.
  18. The flu shot may not prevent the flu, but neither is it killing people.
  19. I did encounter an american many years ago, long before trump came along, who expressed fantasies of taking over canada. maybe it's only a small minority, but there are people who enjoy flexing their military might for no reason. i'm with john and yoko
  20. It's not that much food, especially if you're only doing 2 meals a day. You still need ample protein to maintain health.
  21. supply and demand. oversupply due to more chickens f***ing due to planetary alignments making them hornier.
  22. maybe has nothing to do with Trump
