  1. National Parks have diverse wildlife. https://www.thainationalparks.com/khao-yai-national-park/wildlife
  2. You think Buffet is your personal financial advisor? He got rich by outsmarting and screwing millions of people who lost money in the markets. You think all banks will collapse and everyone will lose their life savings? Society would collapse and everyone will revolt. And the elites cannot stay filthy rich if no one has any money to purchase their iPhones. Here is my understanding of banking, based on limited information. And this applies only to North American banks. Not sure what's going on in the rest of the world. In the US, the small banks will be collapsed into the big banks. And only 4 or 5 remaining big banks will remain. That's by design. Because they want to roll out digital currency and it's easier to implement a digital currency with fewer banks. But still, I think people's savings are protected (if FDIC insured) because the small banks are just being taken over by the big banks. The value of the dollar might fall significantly. As might the value of real estate. But that doesn't mean you should try to make 25% in the stock market to cover your losses. Stock market is and always has been risky. Also something to keep in mind. We are entering a financial period that has never existed before in history. We are in the midst of a complete economic upheaval/revamp. No one knows exactly what it will look like. The value of the dollar may decrease, but Elon Musk has stated that the value of goods will also decrease due to lower labor costs of automation. Anyway, I am not a financial expert. So don't make any major life decisions based on my post.
  3. I don't trust the news. I don't have any idea who is winning the war or what's really going on.
  4. one prediction i came across. russia will lose the war. putin regime will be replaced by a pro-USA regime russia will become part of EU. is it bs?
  5. According to Sten Ekberg (at 5:00 of the video) modern wheat causes insulin resistance and cardiovascular disease. ancient grains (spelt, rye, ...) may be ok for some people who are metabolically healthy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQw3mHMV668
  6. yeah, false advertising? just saying ... maybe there were other reasons people wore gold jewellery ...
  7. here is another example. she is talking about nuts. she recommends not eating too many nuts because they are fairly high in anti-nutrients and also fairly expensive. it's just one person's opinion, but sth to consider.
  8. that's because your article discusses the main problem with whole wheat ie the anti-nutrients. the other is carbs. most people eat a lot of carbs, but are not active. which will cause health issues.
  9. never got into beck much. but i really like this one. and he did a pretty good collab with paul mccartney.
  10. don't take crap from anyone, bob. most of the posters on this forum are quite intelligent. even though the forum represents only a fraction of expats in thailand. but still sth to factor in. your thesis needs more work.
  11. what is gold? why did people historically wear gold? as a sign of wealth? were there any other reasons? according to this site, there are "scientific benefits" to wearing gold. is it bs? https://dusoul.ae/blog/post/7-scientific-reasons-of-wearing-gold-jewelry
  12. Your article concedes that whole grains contain anti-nutrients, but then concludes that if you are getting sufficient vitamins and minerals, it's not a major issue. It could be, I guess. The human body is so complex, so I will not say that I know for a fact that these anti-nutrients are not causing major problems. But you should at least keep track of how many foods with anti-nutrients you are consuming daily, and at some point realize that the math won't add up in your benefit. One guy referenced a study in which whole wheat bread and beans were consumed with oysters and very little or none of the zinc from the oysters was absorbed. (but don't quote me on that ...)
  13. whole wheat is not healthy for the body. even without the added crap they put in that bread, whole wheat is not a health food. now the OP will accuse me of harassing him.
  14. that explains A LOT.
  15. Are you saying bignok and bob smith are the same person? Any scientific links to back up your claims?
  16. the problem is that you are chasing CHEAP thrills, Gamma.
  17. those are the only 2 things that annoy you?
  18. sugar alternatives: - stevia - monk fruit powder - erythritrol - xylitol (tastes almost exactly like sugar) all more expensive than sugar. you can find a lot of good recipes online of people baking with erythritrol ...
  19. one prediction I just read is that russia will lose the war, Putin's regime will be replaced by a pro-American regime, Russia will become a US ally and become part of the EU. not sure how outrageous those predictions are ... politics is over my head.
  20. In my opinion, recommending stock market to older folks is unethical. Stock market is high risk, no matter who tells you how easily they made money. After a certain age, it's best to stick to safe investments in banks.
