Xmas is extremely painful to tolerate. one reason to move to thailand is to get away from sibling rivalry and Xmas. being alone is better than being surrounded by hostility. and you can pop into a bar on Xmas ... you're never alone in thailand.

The word democracy is like the word love. It's so abstract that it's hard for 2 people to define it the same way and hardly means anything. Let's say the president decides to vote on abortion. And 51 per cent like it and 49 per cent don't. Technically, that's democracy, but still half the population is miserable because they don't get what they want. It's like that for just about any issue. Not everyone agrees on everything. So people will always be upset about something.
