Yeah I think Pattaya/Jomtien grew way too much and when a place gets super crowded tempers flare easily. I was in Pattaya from 2007-2011 it was much nicer, practically a ghost town compared to what it is now. They keep building and building in Jomtien I tell my friends its unsustainable they just can't imagine what it's going to be like in 2-3 years.

I'm in Da Nang now until mid June there's enough positives that I'm thinking about moving here. Or I can keep my Condo back in Thailand and spend most of my time in Da Nang. I don't mind travelling back and forth a few times a year it's like the best of both worlds. It's definitely cheaper here, a lot less unstable farangs, better restaurants, excellent service, very few issues with traffic, beach walk is a thousand times better than Pattaya/Jomtien. Pollution is bad in both places but I think it's worse in Bangkok/Pattaya than Da Nang. Drivers license isn't an issue, at least for motorbikes. People definitely a lot skinnier here, makes for a much happier atmosphere. Less bad attitudes towards farangs that's for sure. Weather wise it's got a much cooler winter here and the rainy season is from Sep-December. Those are the months I don't want to be in Da Nang. Somebody told me the other day that Vietnam prices are similar to what Thailand was 5-10 years ago I think that's about right.

What animals would you kill or remove from inside your home?

The temp got a little cooler during the winter and that's when I had a battle with a Tokay Gecko trying to move into my house. Stubborn little beasts that's for sure. -

Unfortunately not for cannabis. If she smuggled heroin she'd be facing death. -

46kg. Wow that takes a lot of guts and stupidity and probably desperation to maintain or reach a lavish lifestyle. She's lucky there's no death penalty for importing cannabis in Sri Lanka. -

When I got to Thailand I was pretty happy they made me go through a pretty rigorous process to get a motobike license. The 50 question test was a little challenging, a couple of people I knew didn't pass it the first time. And then, once I got my motorbike license I find out that the police are nowhere to be found. They DO NOT enforce the rules no wonder everybody breaks every rule. What's the pushishment for driving down the wrong lane? What's the punishment for swiping your mirror? What's the punishment for not even wearing a helmet? It's a dang white line nightmare!

Bangkokians are now the fattest Thais
Furioso replied to short-Timer's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Yes the seed oil is pretty bad but my god just go to the grocery stores. They can't stack enough sugary junk whether it's cola's, cookies, cakes, confections, cereals, chocolates, candies, creams, chocolate chips, cans of crap, etc. -

I'm currently in Da Nang, Vietnam until mid June then back to Thailand. There's a lot less fat/obese people here in Da Nang. However, I can see the Vietnamese are starting to eat the same sugary junk that Thailand stocks in their stores(to the ceiling). I count about 1 in 20 Vietnamese being obese when I'm back in Bangkok or Pattaya I'll go to a store like 7/11 or Big C and usually 8-10 out of 20 are obese. Literally every day gets worse and worse. -

Pattaya is no longer known for its sandy beaches, but for blood on its streets! -
Razor blades?: I upgraded from regular Gillette Mach 3 to Gillette Mach 3 Sensitive as they are the best blades I've ever used. Not cheap, I usually buy through Lazada. Shaving cream?: Usually Gillette Foamy or Gel Sensitive.

Well, we're living in a world with over 8 billion people, adding 70 or 80 million people each year. It's possible the only driving force into the worlds future will be chaos and disaster.
