  1. I can't see the Celerio anywhere in this video.
  2. Why put yourself though a lot of pain and extreme difficulty? You owe it to yourself to live better. Life it too short to be in constant despair.
  3. From what I've seen if a farang goes to a hospital for an emergency like this they will take the opportunity to gouge the sh!te out of them. A million baht in just a few days? That's like the most expensive hospital in the entire world!
  4. I could see the USD losing 10% vs. the baht, maybe in an extreme case even 20%. But 80% is not even remotely possible. The U.S. has problems but nothing like the vast majority of the rest of the world. Thailand is a very corrupt country, it's NOT a land of smiles. There's a very small, elite class..and everybody else is screwed.
  5. I doubt Trump get's elected President again, he's got too many enemies and that Jan 6th ordeal should be the nail in his coffin. But, the media has kept him alive solely for one reason, to make tons of money. Even though Trump is favored in the polls right now(7% over Biden) I think Biden will win reelection. Regardless who wins, nothing really changes for the better. Only worse.
  6. It's a weak case: 1. Trump has been charged with falsifying business records, a misdemeanor in New York State. 2. This allegedly happened 6 years ago, so the statute of limitations expired 4 years ago, thus the case should have been thrown out. 3. However, Bragg claims there's a higher crime that the falsifying enabled, but won't say what this higher crime is. 4. Most judges would have thrown out this case because Bragg basically says "I don't have to tell you what the higher crime is". 5. As it stands right now, the case is a misdemeanor where the statute of limitations have long since expired. 6. Bragg insinuates Trump deceived the voters but New York Congressman Santos lied about EVERYTHING, yet not one single charge against Santos has been filed. 7. The next hearing is Dec 4th, the case should get throw out before then, but New York judges are pretty corrupt so the case could continue.. 8..and if the case continues it'll go Federal and then definitely get thrown out by the Feds.
  7. They get addicted to the chaos and power..take them out of that environment? very low chance for success.
  8. I follow Dr. Ekberg's YT channel. He talks a lot about how important it is to be insulin sensitive instead of insulin resistant as resistant is almost always the cause of medical problems(diabetes, heart attacks, kidney disease, fatty liver, etc). He even has a video that shows how if you're insulin sensitive then cholesterol isn't harmful, it's beneficial to living longer. At least check out his top 10 foods(which turns out to be top 23). These foods are all natural, makes so much sense it's almost impossible to argue against.
  9. They kidnapped, tortured, and killed a rich Chinese man's daughter. The Chinese will execute all three of them.
  10. I had the same thing happen to my brand new laptop, tried to get it fixed at 3 different repair shops. Basically, what Nanlaew wrote is 100% correct. If one of the Mosfet's on your motherboard fails, then high voltage will probably destroy the CPU(or the Platform Controller Hub), the "heart" of any computer. In short, it's very possible one of the mosfet's on your laptop failed and fried your motherboard. You have to find a replacement motherboard, which can be very difficult or too expensive. Honestly I think laptop manufacturer's do this on purpose to keep people spending more and more on laptops. Unless you travel a lot I would suggest buying a mini-pc for under 20,000 baht instead of a laptop. That's the setup I have now, a mini-pc with a wireless keyboard and mouse, connected to an HDTV via HDMI cable.
  11. No matter what country I'm in(except for Mexico!) I drink the local tap water. The crunchier the water, the better.
  12. In late 1992, my friend worked in the Whitehouse in the downstairs Communication Center. Between X-Mas and New Years he signed me into the Whitehouse. The sign-ion was in the East Wing, then we walked down the corridor towards the White House Residence building. Before I knew it we turned a corner and walking down the center hall of the White House Residence. The main thing my friend wanted to do was take me to the middle of the White House, where I could do a 180 to see out the North, then the South Portico. However, this day they were prepping the White House for transition from President Bush to incoming Bill Clinton. As we walked down the center hall the White House Usher(Head of Staff and Operations), stopped us. I remember he said to my friend, "no unauthorized tours today". My friend actually got a little smarmy with the Usher(I have long stories about the trouble my friend got himself in to), I was nervous, cooperative, after 10 seconds we turned around. My friend then said "let's go downstairs through the kitchen". Yep, a quick walk downstairs and we were walking below the main floor(Center Hall) all the way through to the other side, through the West Wing to the Executive Office Building. In the EOB, we walked past the Vice Presidents office and into the Indian Peace Treaty Room. I looked out a window towards the White House Residence and the side is not painted white, it's not painted at all..just the front and back are painted white. Before I knew it I was blindsided tackled and slammed to the floor of the Indian Peace Treaty room. I just knew I was going to jail..alas it was just my friend playing a joke on me. That's about all I remember but I've got a bunch of unbelievable stories about my friend and his travails/trouble that he caused working in the White House for 2 1/2 years.
  13. Also during Covid they may have suffered financially but their workload was drastically decreased. Once Covid restrictions ended the country was invaded by millions of tourists. Going from virtually zero work to 10x more work is very unpleasant, even for the Thai's.
  14. What I've noticed over the years is any place that's nice, eventually will get ruined. I was in Thailand 10 years ago, Pattaya was way less crowded, less polluted. It was kind of boring and every Thai worker was nice/polite(with the exception of one guy at The Pizza Company). Coming here after 10 years I see quite a change. Much more crowded/polluted. I'm sure this, along with economic conditions like wage theft, is the reason for less hospitality than before.
  15. Yes, perhaps in the future. However, if you look at these numbers the USD and the EUR have been 75% or more for 45 years! Why? Because they are much more stable than the rest of the world. True, things are really getting screwed up in the world..we literally don't know what's going to happen tomorrow, let alone next year, 5 years, decades ahead. However, Europe and U.S. are still kings in this category. It will take A LOT to knock them off their perch.
  16. I agree the USD cannot be the reserve forever. However, right now there is no other currency to take it's place. Gold or Bitcoin probably have a better chance than either the Euro or Yuan. Actually, I think the current reserve status hurts the U.S.(and almost all other countries) because until something drastic happens financially the average human will continue to be extremely unhealthy(obese/morbidly obese, stressed, unhappy, relatively poor, victim of wage theft, which is a HUGE problem, etc). Yes, we have a habit of looking only at the overall financial wealth of a country..and making our opinion on this one sole basis. However, there's much more going on under the surface, which very few people seem to think or care about.
  17. I agree Climate Change is worrisome(and I have studied this quite extensively). However, I agree with KhunLA there are much bigger issues than CC. 1. We're adding 70 million people a year to planet earth. 2. Soon 50% of earth's population will be obese. 3. Air Pollution is extremely dangerous across the globe, affecting billions of people. 4. Wars are still being fought, tensions are rising across the globe, there have been many genocides in the past, with many more likely in the future. 5. The latest pandemic was badly mishandled. A future pandemic may very well be apocalyptic. There is one cure to climate change and all the issues I mentioned above. This cure was theorized by the late, great professor Al Bartlett. He pounded the idea for decades and decades that the answer is NOT growth and conspicuous consumption. The ONLY ANSWER is NEGATIVE GROWTH. Without NEGATIVE GROWTH the citizens of planet earth are doomed.
  18. Here's a few notes/updates: 1. 25 kg cylinder containing cesium-137 was stolen from a coal power plant sometime between 17 Feb-10 March. 2. Officials found what remains of the cylinder on Sunday..by detecting radiation emanating from a metal foundry in Prachin Buri(east Thailand). 3. The readings came from scrap metal that had already been compressed into cubes ready to be smelted on Sunday evening. 3. Cesium-137 has a half life of 30 years, it remains in the environment for over 300 years. If this is true the original cylinder is now just metal cubes, the extremely radioactive cesium-137 is released into the environment, that whole plant and surrounding area must be contaminated. More info to follow...
  19. It's already melted? WTH!!?? Does this mean they've contaminated a large area with radioactive gas/dust?
  20. I've been here about 7 months, it's been hard to make friends. The majority are either too busy with their gf/wife, or they're loners, or they're still working. I'm lucky I've found the friends I've got, about 3-4 that I talk with on a regular basis. It's not quite enough though, I'm learning to get out there more, be friendlier, more approachable. If you're lonely I'd suggest to start a club that you're interested in; book club, computer club, chess club, tennis, ping pong, scuba club, etc. I would probably join all of those lol. GL!
  21. I bought my new Acer Swift 3(prod. date Dec, 2020) last Aug, 22. It came with Win 10..which is great because I don't want Win 11 until they fix all the bugs. My previous laptop was a 2010 HP, it came with Win 7 Home and worked great for 10 years, mostly because I replaced the HDD with an SSD. Unfortch, my new Acer is in the Pattaya2U shop right now. It's a huge, long story I'll write up once/if they're able to revive it.
  22. There are dozens of types for sale on Lazada, Shoppee, other websites. I see one now that measures PM 2.5, PM 10, CO2, CO, etc. for about 700 Baht.
  23. - Yes, I would definitely get the ultrasound. - Why? because it will show you the % of fat in your liver. - A liver can be 35% fat, which is really dangerous. - This usually hits a person around their mid 50's as it takes about 35-40 years after graduating high school - Probably need to lose around 15kg. The liver fat % would go way down, you would be much healthier/happier. - There's a YouTube channel names "Nutrition Made Simple". He has dozens of videos on how to slowly change what you eat over months/years. This channel has helped me immensely, I hope it does you as well. Good luck!
  24. I really enjoyed reading this thread. I love/hate Windows with a passion. I long for the day someone asks me to troubleshoot something like this, especially if I know it's probably something that's glitchy, just needs a different set of eyes, a guy who just takes it personal eyes, that is. Just stick me in the room with that dastardly Bill Gates son of thousand maniacs beast and close that door! I'll chomp mindlessly on sugar free gum while furiously klattering on the keyboard and scrape the mouse across that well worn Star Trek Generations mouse pad like a Stradivarius. I'll scream and curse at that Monitor "You WILL submit!" and by god if that door opens with anything but hot coffee(with a healthy dose of sugar/milk/red bull) I'll yell "Get the f out of here, I'm working on it!" After a couple of beatdowns I'll slide the uncomfortable chair back a foot or two..let go of everything and cross my arms. Sixty seconds of thinking how great it would be to chuck the whole stinkin' metal from hell out that window! Then a terse "you motherf__ k_r!" and leap right back on the wireless logi. "It's round 2 you piece of sh!t!" Oh yeah, I'll pound that driver in there somehow, doesn't have to be pretty neether. After I get my way my hands spark from the keyboard and clench in victory. Deep breath, rub the hands, walk to the bathroom, fix the mussed hair, wipe off the brow sweat, wink at the mirror then go and calmly tell the desperate owner "you're all set". As I walk out I'm mumbling to myself, "I'll see you in hell Bill, I'll see you in hell".
