Why would anyone need a covid booster anymore? Probably why they're no longer readily available
-
I liked Hooters so will go to Nana next week to get a Hooters fix ???? Wasn't expensive if you timed it well for wings and slider specials, as well as half priced draft Edit: I must admit I didn't like the 7% Gov tax and 10% service charge added after the price on the menu

NO just in case people need to know what to vote ????

Just a heads up that Aussies can vote in the upcoming 'Voice' referendum at the Landmark hotel between Monday 9th to Saturday 14th October Sounds like a good excuse to go to Nana so I'll be there for 5 days next week ????

Rogue Immigration Officer?
Pattaya57 replied to Marky Mark Mark's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
What rules are we breaking if IO let me in for 270 days last year on visa exempts by air and 225 this year? Surely IO would have rejected me if it was against the rules to stay that long as a tourist -
Rogue Immigration Officer?

Why not, I've been doing it since I retired over 5 years ago. No problem -
Yep, 92 days as 2024 is a leap year. Not sure why people keep forgetting to count arrival and departure days in count. Either way LisuLover, if you do 20 days then 12 days in Vietnam you can come back visa exempt + 30 day extension so no need for initial tourist visa (that would still be 2 days short after 30 day extension anyway)

The post you replied to never mentioned visa exempt entries so again, what does visa exempt entries have to do with this thread other than you ranting about them? OP arrived on a tourist visa -

What has any of that to do with OP arriving on a Tourist Visa? -

What I don't get is that you're supposed to already have an onward flight to get issued a tourist visa in the first place? -
Lost passport with overstay
Pattaya57 replied to Jackm93's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Are you taking the piss? A month ago you posted you were in Mae Sot on 1 year overstay with lost passport. Despite advice given one month later you're still in Mae Sot with a lost passport (so 13 months overstay now, not 1 year) -
Comparing at 8pm at night, where are you getting 50 baht bottle of beer on LK Metro? Cheapest I know is Scooters with 65 Baht all night. Rest I go to are 80-95

I'm retired but nett about A$100k per year from bank interest, early superannuation payments and apartment rental. I offset this income by topping up my superannuation with legal tax deductible contributions. In all I paid only $722 tax last year. But now I'm convinced by OP. I'll now declare my off shore 2,300,000 baht yearly income to the Thailand tax office and let them decide how much tax I should pay over my already legally taxed income covered by a double tax agreement ???? OP maybe you are the one who needs to consult a tax accountant before you sprout such nonsense as fact. Fancy telling everyone they must declare all overseas income to Thai tax office ????

This is the exact same recommended price in Australia (A$799 = approx 18,300 baht). However PS5 now on sale for A$649 so 14,900 baht. Surely Thailand is cheaper than Aus so < 15,000 is somewhere?

Pattaya Visa Agent Recommendation?
Pattaya57 replied to CanadaSam's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Why are you dragging up a 15 month old thread commenting on dead posts? -
Yes you are. Glad you finally realised it ????

People on here say an agent takes all the stress away and you don't have to speak to IO with their varying rules of the day. Plus you get 15 month stay in one go. As it was I didn't do it as 23,000 for just hand holding is a joke price when no commissions to pay the bank staff and/or IO to look the other way. The no money method was 25,000 Another agent quoted 10,000 for non-imm O + 12 month extension but with the caveat of no guarantees. I assume that was because they suspected IO might still ask for their cut for every agent submission. This agent also strongly suggested it'd be better to do oneself if you have 800k seeded. Good advice from what seemed an honest agent

I did a walk through this morning. Looks good with every bar having new furniture. So many bars though with similar Tree Town just around the corner By the way, the gate that opens to soi bukhao was shut this morning so I had to walk back to 2nd road to get out. So depending what time they open and shut the gate you may not have access to soi bukhao (why even have a gate?)

Asean Now definitely the most scaremongering forum around 1. You can not fly into Thailand on a one way ticket if visa exempt as you'll be deported (except many of us do all the time) 2. If you do have an onward flight on visa exempt it must be within 30 days even though Thai embassies all over the World actively promote the 30 day extension and many people fly on 60 day flights, but yes, apparently you'll be deported if flight more than 30 days 3. You must always carry 20,000 baht, or equivelent, in cash when you arrive in Thailand, $1 million in bank account will not be of any use and you'll be deported as you obviously can't afford a holiday in Thailand if you can't scrape up $560 in cash in this cashless society 4. You can not stay more than 180 days in a year or you must register as Thai tax resident and declare all of your overseas income so that Thailand can double tax you, including if you transmit your already taxed pension or savings to Thailand (which people are unbelievably saying Thailand banks should withhold 15% for tax) I don't know what's worse, the posters constantly scaremongering stating everything as fact, or the posters believing everything said here so much they make life decisions based on this crap (eg. I'm now leaving Thailand)

You could have saved some time and just put this straight in the Pattaya Bar death watch thread ????
