Why would number of weed shops impact anyone? If you're not into weed just ignore them and walk on by (just like people ignore Gogo bars, Gentlemens clubs and beer bars if they're not into them)

Why not? It's your name, birth date, passport details and address which I seem to know by memory so don't need to look up anything (with reason being one word for me "Tourism")

Can't believe so much contention on a TM7 form you can get at immigration office and takes 30 seconds to fill out. And why wouldn't you just sign it with blue pen to avoid any doubt (no-one has ever said blue is not accepted, unlike black pen)

He didn't wait last moment to apply for an extension like you think. He had no idea how his multi-entry tourist visa worked and he did 2 entries with 2 overstays. He was then denied his 3rd entry to Thailand (not expelled) when he tried to enter for 60 days on his expired visa because he thought it was a "triple entry visa" (while also stating the IO had an IQ less than 10 because she couldn't understand his visa)

Congrats. Pretty sure they lined up the Friday 30 June as last work day to give you non-imm O visa before your current 1 July permission of stay. If you leave the country you'll return on 30 day visa exempt which will change the details you provided (resulting in different non-imm O start date and you may need to apply again?) I'd go in July after non-imm O issued (you'll need a re-entry permit for 1000 baht)

My Mate got his non-imm O visa + 12 month extension from Manareet for 26k. Glad the certified letter they arranged from Bangkok Bank saying he had funds for 3 months when he actually didn't is not considered illegal fraud, I was worried for him ????

So in summary you thought you had a "triple entry" tourist visa but actually had a multi-entry tourist visa that gives you 60 days per entry before 12 May. You then said you did overstay on your first entry of visa and also overstay on your 2nd entry of visa. You then asked to enter for 60 days + 30 days extension even though your visa had now expired on 12 May No wonder they denied you entry for 60 days (maybe if you asked for 30 day visa exempt they may have given it to you, or maybe not)

OP how did you get a triple entry tourist e-visa from Australia when Australia don't do e-visa and tourist visa are single entry 60 day only? (You referenced Canberra office)

OP had a tourist visa from Australia which can only be a single entry 60 day stay visa What was your date of entry to Thailand as you then should have left within the 60 days allowed by the tourist visa (or got the allowed 30 day extension). As you said IO indicated you were on overstay I assume you stayed longer than the 60 days allowed by your visa

I just bought a couple of these for 300 baht each at Amorn Electronics in basement of Tukcom. They had other types but as I have LG air-con this was perfect

You said you planned to cross the border and come right back, so I assume you did not have any luggage with you. Wouldn't taking no luggage be a clear sign to immigration what your plan was so no need to ask?

Note that as a non-thai his name will not be in the blue house book whereas a copy of his Condo Chanote (Deed) will have his name (to prove "house registration")

If it's just the power button you could try Amorn electronics in basement of Tukcom. Pretty sure they can fix anything. They did a great job on my non-working entertainment system (took 3 days as had to order part from Bangkok)

First of all the temporary 45 day visa exempt entry ceased on 31 March and it is back to 30 days. Secondly, was your flight on 17 May. If so 15 June is a correct 30 day stamp as arrival and departure day are counted in the 30 days

You can apply any day on or before your 1 June stamp. I usually go the week before my stamp date

The TM7 extension for visa exempt will give you 30 days from current 1 June stamp (so July 1st)

There is a simple explanation. With a blue pen signature it is easy to see the form is an original, whereas a signature in black pen is easy to mistake as a photocopy. My work had the exact same rule so it's not just a Thailand IO thing

So are you suggesting we should have joined other Pattaya groups months and months ago in order to know about this earlier ???? I've only seen a couple of random posts advising this in last 2-3 weeks on Asean Now (one of them was mine) so hardly known for a good long time. I first saw it on Pattaya Expats Club page who posted a warning about it on 17 April, too late for me of course as I'd already arrived on visa exempt.

I had an appointment booked at Vientiane on 23rd to get a tourist visa. Came down to personal choice deciding I couldn't be bothered travelling all the way to Nong Khai and back and dealing with a Thai embassy in a country I've never been to Point is I shouldn't have to leave the country to get a tourist visa if Jomtien just followed the regulations that the rest of Thailand follow As for posting here, at least people planning the visa exempt entry to non-imm O conversion will know to get a tourist visa instead if they're coming to Pattaya

A TM-30 requires you to state the entire time of stay. One night in a hotel or guesthouse doesn't meet that requirement for non-imm O 90 day stay

Surely that requires me to rent a condo in Bangkok whereas I have owned a Condo in Pattaya for 15 years requiring no rent?

Thanks but I'm 57, way too young to get a pension and I would never qualify for pension anyway
