Thailand’s AOC launched to tackle rising online scams
BenStark replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
They could start with the platforms named Shopee and Lazada, who are very well ware of the counterfeit listed on their platforms, and actually promote it. File a return for a counterfeit or not as described product, and you are not allowed to make a review of the product you return. So you have to keep the counterfeit product, and subsequently lose the money you paid for it, to be able to review it and warn other potential customers. If your review is too negative, even then it will be hidden from view. Most of the reviews that have 3 or less stars are empty. Really. This simply stinks -

https://news.yahoo.com/former-crypto-tycoon-sam-bankman-002733975.html Sam Bankman-Fried, the one-time cryptocurrency golden boy accused by US prosecutors of stealing billions of dollars of his customers' money, was found guilty on Thursday on all counts, and now faces up to 110 years behind bars. Underlining the high level of interest in the case, US Attorney General Merrick Garland issued a statement after the verdict thanking prosecutors and the FBI for their "outstanding work in bringing Mr Bankman-Fried to justice." "This case should send a clear message to anyone who tries to hide their crimes behind a shiny new thing they claim no one else is smart enough to understand: the Justice Department will hold you accountable," he said.

Extension Online "Faster & Easier" NO!
BenStark replied to Thjames's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Unless something has changed, I will do my next extension in the same way I did it early this year. Book an appointment at 2pm through the immigration website, not the vfsevisa system, so no prepayment involved. Arrive there at 1:45pm, with all documents in hand which I had prepared at home, and allowed to pass the entire and extensive queue waiting outside on showing my appointment. At 2:30pm I was outside and already at the revenue office on Jomtien second road -
That is a ridiculous price, since a cup needs 7gr of instant coffee. I know the manufacturers tell you 2gr is enough, otherwise it would be too obvious they are ripping you off, but I go by my taste and just asked ChatGPT, who seems to agree with me I buy, and like the Tchibo Gold, often in promotion at 199 baht per 200 gram

Who got bored in Thailand and went back?

I haven't locked my doors for the past 10 years, don't even know where the keys are. I lock them from the inside at night, as i don't fancy to wake up with someone standing beside the bed. But when I go out I never lock. My reasoning is that someone who wants to be inside will get there anyway, so I prefer he goes in through an open door, instead of breaking a window. -
What a load of drivel, which I recall you post frequently. To offcially import an Android box you need an NBTC license, which cost about 10 baht, but maybe a bit of a pita to get as an individual customer. So buy one locally, then you put the burden with the seller, and if he didn't get the import license then that's his problem. Just make sure you get an invoice

I always bring, or let bring my friends that come visit, cheeses - salami and sliced ham. All these items are here at least 4 times the price from Europe, some up to 10 times, even if they are produced in Thailand.

As I'm not an English speaker, what is probate? I can notice that it is the most expensive part of the will, but most don't seem to bother with it
