  1. Will he be shaking hands with the new Agricultural Minister? I'd loved to be a fly on the wall for that meeting....LOL
  2. If the average temps would stay in the 16-25 range, I would be OK with it too....
  3. It will take decades for this to be fixed, long after all the dinosaurs are dead and in the ground.
  4. That ship has sailed, long....long..... long.... ago.
  5. I wear my custom Chaco Z/1 sandals i bought from the states, the soles seem to be made of car tires, never had an issue with those and the heat here😉. Will be leaving for a few weeks in April, but I hate it when I land here and it feels like a blast furnace when I exit the airport.
  6. So which IO are you going to? I use black and white like others, never copied/printed anything in color here, not yet at least.
  7. Has he been smoking some of his Public Health Ministers medical only weed supply, that stuff must be potent!
  8. His administration will do nothing but build more debt, scheme after scheme of vote buying doesn't reduce debts.
  9. Well, he went and talked to Cambodia about this issue last week, that obviously went nowhere. But the Pot calling the Kettle black probably fell on deaf ears anyways.
  10. Here in Muang Thong Thani the air is filled with eye burning smoke, I haven't seen it this bad before, just a quick walk with the dog and my eyes and throat are burning and irritated. Stay safe, and don't go out if you don't have to.
  11. Obviously someone was not passing the envelopes up the ladder, let that be a lesson for those who wish to run their own show, the Royal Thai Mafia has your number.
  12. You can see some type of distinction between the driving habits of Thai minibus drivers and Thai taxi drivers?! I avoid both, from experience, never again will I use either of their services.
  13. Exactly, unless people have experience riding motorcycles in a 3rd world country, I would suggest avoiding getting on a motorcycle here. Anyone fresh from Australia, UK, US, Europe will be like a fish out of water on the roads in Thailand.
  14. I'm a US citizen, and fairly conservative, but the one thing I think we should have in the USA is universal healthcare, instead we spend way more for way less, not to mention the long waits for just about anything. At least you guys have something to fall back on, in the US, you're on your own.
  15. You can't borrow 560 Million Baht, then hand it to poor people, and expect it to return anything. Tell Pheu Thai if they wish to move forward, they will have to guarantee return on investment, otherwise the government will seize all of its members assets to pay for the debt, starting with all of PM Srettha's extensive personal assets.
  16. Lesson one, don't ride a motorcycle in a foreign country while on vacation unless you've been there for quite awhile, thus understanding the dangers of doing so. There really should be a warning to all tourist coming to Thailand, highlighting that 80% of road deaths are from those riding on motorcycles. In fact, I am surprised any insurance company would even have coverage for tourist riding motorcycles here.
  17. Yes, imprison them too, especially that snake Prayut!
  18. Driving a motorcycle in Thailand, without a helmet, and without proper insurance, maybe not even a valid motorcycle license. I can't even fathom why anyone would come here and even take a chance riding a motorcycle, knowing full-well that this is a seriously dangerous place to drive anything, let alone a motorbike without a helmet.
  19. That's how slaves are made, as long they continue thinking like that, they will stay slaves.
  20. In the End, the Junta and Elite stay in power, coups trump all.
  21. The MFP would have only been a start in the right direction, it would still take many years to correct the wrongs in Thailand. With the current situation? Things are hopeless, we are decades away from any meaningful change now, it's time for people (Thai & Foreigners) to decide their own personal direction and act on it.
  22. <sarcasm>Yes, because the Pheu Thai party is devoid of corruption.</sarcasm>
  23. The reason I bought a car here was because of the dangerous taxi drivers and bus drivers I encountered while here in my first 3 months. It's bad enough to have every Thai driver driving like laws don't apply to them, and like their life and yours means nothing to them, but being in a taxi or bus driven by one of these lunatics is even more dangerous.
  24. Without a truly democratic government, any expectation of growth from trade or international business ventures is just a pipedream, unless they want to hitch their wagon to only one horse (China).
  25. Soldiers? Just get the lazy police officers sitting in air con rooms, who are doing nothing, back out on the streets enforcing the laws on a regular basis. I would send them out every day, and would expect regular reports of what they were doing all day, then match that up to traffic accident and crime reporting.....if no reduction in those areas and no legitimate use of their time, then fire them. Senior officers should also make regular patrols checking on their officers, traffic rule compliance, taxi rule compliance, and safety within each officers area of assignment. There are plenty of officers, I checked their numbers, they have the same amount per 100,000 citizens that they do in the West.
