  1. One might also view that the document's intent is to actually make the laws on possession of THC extract products (exceeding 0.2% THC) a bit more lenient. Meaning, prior to this, there was no indication about possession limits and what amounts of a THC extract product could be viewed as being illegal possession, but still for personal use. But now, under this new legislation, one can possess up to 30 grams without being charged as possessing it for anything other than personal use. Prior to this it is possible that if somebody was in possession of only 15 grams of a THC extract product they could still be charged under the law as possessing an amount more than just for personal use. But now this gray area has been clarified. Perhaps before possession of even 1 gram could have been charged as a serious crime and now that quantity has been raised to a minimum of over 30 grams. Whether possession limits will ever be placed on flowers remains to be seen. But, unless flowers are ever reclassified in some way as a Class 5 Narcotic, then it seems unlikely any limits on possession of flower quantities can be enacted when it isn't an illegal narcotic substance to begin with.
  2. I've read through the document more closely. The only real intent of this is legislation is to specify the possession limits for illegal narcotics in categories 1, 2, and 5 which will now be deemed as quantities viewed as being for personal consumption under the law. One can assume that possession above the specified limits (which is a limit of 30 grams of THC extract exceeding 0.2% THC) will now possibly be considered to be a quantity large enough to be used for sale/distribution, but it doesn't actually say any of that in the document. And presumably possession of any quantities of these drugs under the newly specified limits is still deemed illegal and will still face criminal charges for possession as always, depending on the actual quantity and circumstances. However, this document is issued by the Ministry Of Public Health, which doesn't prosecute crimes. So that's why there is no discussion in the document itself about consequences or punishments for possession of the listed substances that are in quantities either above or below the specified limits being set forth herein. At some point they may put some laws in place to try to limit the recreational use of cannabis flower, but they have already clearly stated that they have no intention to add cannabis flower back on to the Class 5 Narcotics list. I also don't think there is any deeper intent here in this legislation to support or place limits on medicinal use of extracts or to limit the use of flowers for medical use either. Presumably, if you have been given a cannabis extract product by a licensed Thai doctor or a Thai hospital, and it is intended to be for medical use, then these limits won't apply because the limits in this document all seem to apply to illegal possession and not legal possession. Meaning, for example, if a hospital were to give you 60 grams of a cannabis extract product containing more than 0.2% THC then it likely wouldn't be viewed as exceeding the limits stated in this document because it wouldn't be criminal possession to begin with. As I already stated earlier, this new legislation issued by the MOPH appears to be of little importance or consequence to most people because it's only focusing on the already illegal THC extract products and not flowers. As a side note, the fact that many legally licensed cannabis shops are currently illegally selling THC extract products that exceed the 0.2% limit means that a person caught in possession of any quantity of these extract products (even when bought from a licensed cannabis shop) is still breaking the law.
  3. This isn't a material change to the existing law prohibiting products containing more than 0.2% THC content made from a cannabis extract. Extracts products containing more than 0.2% THC were already still classified as a Class 5 Narcotic, whereas cannabis flowers were removed from the list of Class 5 narcotics almost 2 years ago. The only addition to the law I see here in this document is that they added in a quantity limit of 30 milligrams to the existing law on THC extracts and to say that going above the limit can also be considered as an intent to distribute. So this just seems like a tightening up of the existing law to make it a bit more clear, whereas prior to this there was no specified limit on extract quantity. In any event, extracts isn't the part of the cannabis narcotics law that anyone is really concerned about. The majority of people are growing, selling, buying, and consuming cannabis flowers and which has no THC percentage limitations and flowers are also no longer an illegal Class 5 Narcotic. So they can be sold and consumed at any quantity. This is all that really matters.
  4. The WSJ has covered this issue extensively over the last 12 months for iPhones with lots of good advice on security protection in the 3 videos linked below on how to protect the data in your phone from thieves. Also, many of the weak iPhone security issues have just been addressed in the latest iOS 17.3 with Apple's new "Stolen Device Protection" features. So everyone should update to iOS 17.3 ASAP and enable this feature under "Face ID & Passcode" settings. Some more things you can do to secure your personal data straight away; don't store scans of your personal ID documents in the Photos App itself (use a free and secure encrypted cloud service for your sensitive photos like Proton Drive), don't keep any internet banking login information in the iCloud Keychain (use a free, encrypted, stand alone password manager like Proton Pass), lock all text based notes on your phone containing any sensitive information with a separate password (use a password different to your phone unlock password) and, if you have any PDF, Word, or Excel files stored on your phone with sensitive information, then also individually password protect those files too. https://youtu.be/QUYODQB_2wQ https://youtu.be/tCfb9Wizq9Q https://youtu.be/gi96HKr2vo8
  5. I can understand people growing it themselves as a labor of love or a small passion project, but it's not something that I (or the majority of people) want to spend time doing. Just like very few people that drink beer or spirits make their own alcohol. And at any given time I'll have 10 or more different strains of beautiful high quality bud on hand that I have paid very little money for. Personally, I could never obtain that much variety of high THC content weed by growing it myself, nor would I ever want to wait months for a plant to mature (and possibly have it yield only low THC) when I can buy an unlimited amount of ready made product at any moment I want it. Thus, rarely are people converting their home interiors into miniature cannabis farms filled with lights, coolers, and fans. As for the carbon footprint issue, I always laugh at those kinds of naive comments in general. Want to reduce your carbon footprint? Get rid of your car, your second home, don't fly on airplanes, don't eat beef, and definitely don't have children. The rest of anything else you can possibly do on this planet pales little by comparison. On the legal front, nothing will materially change in Thailand with the cannabis laws this year. Unless they put cannabis flowers back on the list of criminal narcotics (which they have already expressed no intention of doing) then the only thing that can possibly change is the need to obtain a trivial piece of paper that says you have a medical need to consume it. Too many large financial interests are already involved to turn back the proverbial cannabis-clock in any meaningful way. Last thing, get yourself a dry herb vaporizer or make your own cannabis oil. Lung pollution issue solved. The need to smoke big bong hits and damage your respiratory system is long a thing of the past. And breathing in the constant heavy PM2.5 in Thailand 24-hours a day can be far worse than the occasional toke. Peace Out ✌🏼
  6. I'm reading some comments here from people saying how giving up smoking cannabis is about growing up, being responsible, being more productive, etc. I can say the same exact things about cigarettes, alcohol, pain killers, or any other dependency forming and/or mind altering chemical that people gravitate towards. I find cannabis to be the opposite for me though. As I get older I find that my thoughts about the world have naturally become more negative, cynical, jaded, judgmental or whatever you want to call it and something that can safely counter balance some of these kinds of thoughts is a welcome entry. Thus, adding cannabis back into my life has helped to reverse some of that effect. It seems to have made me happier, less tense, have less anxiety, etc. All good. It's also brought me back towards the more carefree feeling that I had when I was younger. Plus, I am also at an age now where I am not trying to be as productive and am more interested in enjoying life. There is also a difference between using a bit of it at night to relax (when the day is done) and to sparking up first thing in the morning, then continuing it throughout the day and letting it set the tone of things for the rest of the day. So I only see positives to it, when used at the right time, but I guess it all comes down to mindset and perspective and to each his/her own.
  7. I had also given completely given it up for decades. I never really enjoyed it much before to begin with. As you said, the quality was also very touch and go back in the day. I'm surprised to hear getting off it was a challenge though. Anyway, a lot has changed since then as you suggested. It's now a cornucopia of great quality flowers with high levels of THC. And in all kinds of colors, flavors, and smells and at very reasonable prices. That's what also eventually drew me back to it. The current generation who recently discovered weed doesn't realize how far it's come since the eighties and how off-putting the experience was back then with mostly underwhelming and harsh tasting brick-weed from Mexico, Columbia and Jamaica. Alas, you might want to look into trying out a dry herb vaporizer. No more coughing and no more harmful particles entering your lungs. Regular smokers who have switched to dry herb vapes claim to be able to consume about 1/3 the amount of weed as before, while still getting the same amount of effect. And after the weed has been fully vaped, the already vaped bud still holds at least 25% (maybe more) of the original THC and CBD content, which can then easily be used to make cannabis oil or another form of edible.
  8. Part of the problem is you have a negative bias since you are questioning yourself each time as to why are you doing it again. Not a good start. Paranoia is also a common reaction for first time smokers or people who haven't smoked in a long time. It's caused by the elevated heart rate that often occurs for the first 15-20 minutes, then it's the subconscious mind reacting to an unfamiliar psychoactive feeling, and then finally the mind's own natural fear of the unknown. The best thing to do before smoking the next time is put yourself into the right mindset first. If you're feeling scared or nervous about it then don't do it. And if you plan to continue with a negative feeling about it in general then it's probably not going to work. Wait until you feel it's right. Then remind yourself that you are doing it because it's going to be a pleasant, relaxed and happy experience, that you are going to go on a fun little journey for 2-3 hours, and that then it will end. If you premise your thoughts on this basis then all should go great the next time. 👍🏼
  9. Yup, no shortage of 1,000 Baht per gram weed shops on Samui. So leave your weed at home. Just bring your rolling papers, your grinder, your favorite rolling tray and stash canister and just a few suitcases of cash and you should be able to stay high during your trip. 😜👌🏼
  10. Yup, all wishful dreaming. But for those who have been taken in by the fanfare for the last 10-20 years, it will be hard for them to accept the fact it's really just been a big hoax. Here is also more of the useful reading on the subject: https://www.vice.com/en/article/kbvz9m/weed-strains-are-mostly-bull<deleted>-weedweek2017 https://www.insider.com/why-theres-no-difference-between-indica-and-sativa-marijuana-strains-2020-4 https://www.thestranger.com/weed/2017/08/23/25380755/please-shut-up-about-indica-versus-sativa
  11. For the first hour after I vape I wouldn't try really operating anything, nor would I really want to (because my aim is almost always to relax). Not a motor vehicle for sure and I have trouble even remembering things like which app I was going to tap on after unlocking my phone. So springboard gaze can become a serious dilemma. And any kind of heavy multitasking is definitely off the table. I've tried testing myself by working on a spread sheet with lots of formulas right after vaping. Not much success. For the first hour, if I'm really high, the biggest task I can handle without time lapsing is usually something like dish washing, lol. But after about 60-90 minutes then I can start to get some things done again, even like driving a big engined motorcycle. I can also become hyper focused and aware of my surroundings, while still feeling high, which can be fun. Sometimes I do get a bit of an elevated heart rate for the first 15-20 minutes after I vape, but generally I am not bothered by it. I guess some might consider that a bit of a Sativa effect (even though I don't believe there is such a thing), but when it happens to me it could happen one day and not the next, whilst also having vaped the same strain on both days. It's even happened on some days and not others when using the same blend I made. So, again, I just attribute it to the various different possible effects from THC on the subconscious mind and it not being strain dependent. I tend not to mix any other psychoactive substances with weed though. Any other stimulant would only usually disrupt the desired vibe for me. M-150 is loaded with sugar and caffeine. Probably enough to negate the effects of THC such that one can then focus at a fairly normal level again on just about anything. Not sure why one would want to mix the two. It would be like mixing a downer and an upper together. But one man's rubbish is another man's caviar, so I'm not here to judge. In fact, there was a segment in the "Rotten" documentary series on Netflix about cannabis edibles where an emergency room doctor explained how they treat young kids who are freaking out after having accidentally and unknowingly consumed an entire chocolate bar edible belonging to their parents (perhaps 60-100 mg of THC in one go). I believe the treatment is usually something from the benzodiazepines drug class and that benzodiazepines can greatly neutralize the psychoactive effects of THC, whether one is feeling either up or down from it or whether the source of the THC in the edible was from a shorter Indica or taller Sativa plant. Enjoy...
  12. Last night I vaped the same 10-strain blend again that I created. I have about another 8 grams of it remaining, so it should last me a while longer before this THC experiment ends. At the moment though I also have a good supply of nearly 10 individual strains, some of them are in the 10 strain blend and others are more newly acquired. But they all have really good strength (between 20%-30% THC) and some have some beautiful and unique terpenes too. So I'm not using any low-level brick quality type weed for this experiment. I still often consume individual strains too and the blend was created mainly for experimentation purposes, but also for those times like last night when I didn't want to have to choose which strain to use. So the beauty of the blend is it gives me the pleasure of taking in so many great strains at once, while ensuring I still get a good, strong dose of THC at the same time. Last night I loaded about 0.3 of a gram into the vaporizer as I usually do. I started out by taking 5 good pulls from it and, then, about 2 hours later, I ripped the same load another 4 times. I normally only take about 6-7 hits in total from one load of weed in the vape, but I went 9 full pulls on the cargo this time before dumping it out. The high was great. Totally relaxing and peaceful. Periods of strong couch-lock and that great feeling went on for about 5 hours in total. Was I feeling an Indica or a Sativa high? Who knows, but since I believe that THC can only have one psychoactive chemical effect on the brain I simply believe I was just high; the same type of high as I always feel from any type of good cannabis. Technically I guess every type of weed strain is within this 10 blend mix, but to me it still feels no different than consuming any type of good cannabis strain individually. Also, I'm not here low-key trying to convince anyone of anything. I'm only sharing my personal results. People are more than welcome to go on believing whatever anecdotal conjecture they would like to believe about getting different psychoactive effects from different types of cannabis strains. Remember -- all I am offering is the truth, nothing more (blue pill, red pill, lol) But I do suggest everyone do some blind tests of their own using the so called "unique" Sativa and Indica dominant hybrid strains, as well as create some mixed strain blends using 5-10 different buds, and see where it goes for yourself. By the way, 0.3 of a gram in a vaporizer is about equal to smoking one standard sized bong hit. It's great that one can put that small equivalent amount of weed into a vaporizer and stay high for so many hours. The same high wouldn't be achievable with that limited amount of weed in a bong. So for everyone in this thread who is so concerned about sourcing low cost weed in order to economize; I suggest you try using a vaporizer instead. The same small amount of weed will go so much further in vaporizer as compared to a bong or a rollup and then it matters less if you are paying 30 Baht or 5X the price for a gram for the highest quality gear. Peace. ✌🏼
  13. All this talk about strains keeping you awake, putting you to sleep, or making you relaxed, happy, euphoric, creative, feeling uplifted, etc has always struck me as just marketing techniques to get consumers to feel more engaged to buy more and to buy various different strains. And if you read a lot about Indica and Sativa, the only real scientific difference between the two types of plants is the physical height. They are just height classifications with no scientific evidence that they have a different psycho active effect. Same goes for all the different ways different strains are supposed to make you feel. That's actually supposed to be based on subconscious reactions to the terpenes and not the cannabinoids themselves, and again there is no scientific evidence to support that different strains can have different psychoactive effects. THC is just THC. It's the amount that's the main controlling factor. Over the last 2.5 months I did a lot of personal experimentation with around 20 different Grade-A strains. The only significant difference I noticed between any of them is that some made me more high and others made me less high. At times the "Indica" ones that were supposed to make me more relaxed or sleepy made me more awake and uplifted and other times I felt more relaxed and sleepier using the same strains. I have come to the conclusion that the difference is really based on your own mood and energy levels at the time when you are about to consume it. I even made some different blends using 5 different strains in each blend. One blend intended to make me more sleepy and the other intended to make me more uplifted based on the "type" of the strains. Again, the results varied each time I smoked each of them. At one point I got the two different blends mixed up so I was eventually forced to do a blind test and couldn't notice any difference between any of the psychoactive effects. Eventually I mixed all 10 strains together and my conclusion again was that it simply made me "high". Some days sleepier and some days having more energy when consuming the 10 strain blend. How high I get or how long the high lasts I found depends purely on the THC level in each strain and what I'm doing physically at the time. And even if it is a weaker strain then I can just smoke a bit more and get the same effect as a stronger strain. Now I mainly look for certain physical properties when I buy bud and I try and get ones with the higher THC levels so I can consume less to achieve the same desired effect. I don't pay attention to what sort of mood they are claiming it will provide, nor whether it's a "Sativa" or "Indica". And smell and taste is a bit more important to me now when choosing a strain since I use a vaporizer. My results are purely personal, but I tried to take an objective approach using a lot of different strains and my results lead me to my anticipated conclusion. Try doing your own test. Get some different "Sativa" and "Indica" dominant hybrids and do a blind test by consuming them without knowing which one each one is and see if you can work it out after you smoke it. Without the subconscious preprogramming by knowing anything about the strain before consuming it you might find you have similar results to what I experienced.
  14. Yes, and your weed goes so much further in a vape as you said. Many people here are concerned about the (already low) cost of the higher quality weed. But if you use a vaporizer you can likely get at least double the amount of benefit out of your weed versus when smoking it. A rollup will typically use up half a gram and much is also lost as it continuously burns between hits. So in the end a vape can also help reduce consumption cost if you prefer to buy the higher priced good stuff without (literally) burning though so much weed.
  15. With the average price of good quality flower coming in around 150 Baht/Gram, it's hard to imagine one is going to get anything really good for only 10-40 Baht/Gram. Even if it's not "brick weed" it probably has a similar level of THC, smell, and consistency to brick. So it might as well be labeled brick, even if it hasn't been pressed. Also, a seller claiming to offer 30% THC weed for only 10 Baht/Gram isn't building a lot of buyer confidence with that sort of advertising.
  16. Nice to hear someone can enjoy 10B/G weed. I haven't seen any yet though that would interest me at that price. And you say strong, but that weed is likely to be 8%-10% THC (possibly less). Thus, "strong", is that relative to regular brick weed?
  17. Yup, it's very easy to get caught up in the trivial soft-milky political minutia of the whole diatribe, but at the end of the day nothing is going to materially change unless weed ends up back on the illegal narcotics list and that train won't be pulling back into the station.
  18. Can't wait, I'm coming now. Will it be Gorilla Glue, Acapulco Gold, or OG Kush this time? 🤗💯❤️
  19. It's unfair to blame them for being upstanding by abiding by the 0.2% THC limit law. 🤣
  20. Personally I much prefer all the LINE App shops passing off bunk Thai-brick-weed as Grade-A/30%-THC high quality bud, but at only 5% of the price of the tourist high-street fleecers. 😂
  21. That is definitely not correct information. That would require every foreigner in Thailand to also have a yellow book to apply for a Bangkok Bank credit card, which is definitely not the case. AFAIR, Bangkok Bank will allow any foreigner (on a long term visa) to obtain a BBL secured credit card as long as they lock up a sum of money equal to the credit card's credit limit into a locked bank account at Bangkok Bank. I think the minimum sum is ฿10,000. KTC (Krung Thai Card) offers the same option to foreigners.
  22. The notion that it was the government's intention in 2022 to legalize cannabis for medical use only is a completely farce. A government doesn't fully decriminalize cannabis and, at the same time, license over 6,000 retail cannabis shops to open up across the country selling weed to any swinging d*ck unless it's your full intention to legalize it for recreational use. Thailand's economy was reeling from the pandemic, and the huge drop in tourism numbers, thus they needed something to pump some life back into the economy. So you need to look purely at what they do and not what they say.
