  1. The smart people in Thailand usually leave the country during the Songkran madness. Anycase nothing is reliable or functions during the hysteria.
  2. LTR on the BOI website is down since the start of Songkran.
  3. And if all the immigration harassment continues, it's not only the bond investors who will leave but also the foreign retiree home owners who bring in lots of money in Thailand.
  4. The golden rule to remember in Thailand is that the clerk or officer behind his counter is God in person when dealing with a pesky foreigner. So "God" makes his own rules that the pesky falang is required to obey by the thumb. Even if the law says the opposite. Welcome to Thailand.
  5. Those remarkable champs in the immigration booths just love to see how they can make a fuss against foreigners. If a foreigner has a been granted a visa valid for x years, the immigration fellow just needs to stamp the entry date and that's it. But we all know depending on which chap or lady one can fall upon they will try to fuss on your health insurance, how much cash you got etc...fully knowing that a retiree can spend in a day, what those lovely people earn in a month maybe. And then they whine why foreigners do not want to come to Thailand.
  6. Yes but more costly then in other cities as competition is low.
  7. Very true and amongst the most wealthy are the retirees from Switzerland, like them or not !!
  8. The plan seems to work, .Give those wealthy global pensioneers a ltr and once they are settled, put a hefty tax on their foreign pensions.
  9. Many suggest solar as the solution agains the electric price scamming all over. Very true. But the maintenance of solar pannels that need regular cleaning seems to be overlooked,. Not to mention to find a reliable company to do the setup and that is a job in itself in the Land of Scams. Not to forget the legal paperwork that needs to be submitted and any eventual insurance issues ? Thai Home insurance firms that are far from being customer friendly, even through a broker, often are rather cold on solar pannels with regard to fire issues.
  10. One calls to ban others call to developp. All depends maybe on which side has invested or interests in the issue ? 😉
  11. Usually it's for the girl's family to pay dowry to the golden goose falang who will be later expected to fund the entire family. Not the other way around. Some guys should get a better sense of inner value.
  12. Nothing is consistent in Thailand, One chap with golden wings and dressed in brown may say it's fine but another at some airport may plainly refuse the document. Why chance ? Change the passport, get a new one and have the visa stamp transferred.
  13. Much of the world is seing the horror in Gaza, the difference in treatment between Russia an Israel, all orchestrated by Biden and his cronies.
  14. Us guys have spent a lifetime woeing and paying for their drinks and meals and more. Time has come to fully open arms to the feminist woke revolution and let them do the hard work. Let's see them start to play the flirting game and take the incentives, us men had to bear for ages. So no problem, welcome to the feminist liberation and please start now to invite us out, pay for the drinks, invent those absurd excuses to bring us up for nightcap at the appartment and all the other rubbish us men were doing for ages to get those fine ladies come up and share our intimacy. 🤣
  15. At the end of the day nobody seems to have a concise and reliable answer to all the doubts of taxing the retirees in Thailand and their pensions. Many retirees in Thailand could start selling their property and perhaps are looking to relocate in other countries in the region that are more foreigner and tax friendly.
  16. one or two suggestions please in bkk ? Hua Hin ? Phuket ? for a start please ? 🤣
  17. Who on earth goes to Thailand in the rainy season in summer in the first place ?
  18. A definate NO.
  19. The best gadget would be to get quick the high speed train from Bangkok to Phuket, via Hua Hin. Thank you. 🙏
  20. No to speak about Mr Trink who has my full respect, but Man many of these old lads from the golden era were real stuntmen...all bonkin' around unprotected with all the aids and std....wonder how they made it through time ?
  21. kindly name them , thanks
  22. you seem to have some experience on the matter...
  23. As for most issues in Thailand, name and shame the faulty unit's brand and the lousy installer who cannot do the job. Use of course a bogus FB account from a public wifi.
  24. They say to avoid mixing diairy products with fish.
  25. Twice I started to chat a young fine lady in at Bluport mall Hua Hin. Both times they ended up after hanky panky to ask for money. One was direct and honest that she was a freelance apparently and the other was starting to hint for being taken back to the Mall for a shopping spree at my expense. Far more straight forward to entertain at a the local "massage" parlours. Will cost you much less for the same top notch quality females.
