Think thrice before leaving your computer with all your private details in hands of some freelance repair chap in the area. Of course if you have no personnal e-banking data or similar on the computer and it's only for posting here and watching porn the news, that's a different story.

Not to forget that Thailand recently signed with the OCDE, full international cooperation and exchange of tax revenue, which one assumes is also for revenue generated within Thailand. Simply put, the foreigners who have bought houses or condos in Thailand, renting or not, but who have "forgotten" to declare the property to their tax authorities back home, are also in some spicy soup. Their homeland tax people have strong chances of getting the info sooner or later, and then some sour tax summons are going to appear on all those renting the pool villas and not having declared theproperty/ revenue back in the west Many foreigners who own property in Thailand have not declared it in their homelands.

Look around all over either in Bangkok, Hua Hin or elsewhere. You see those irresponsable falangs riding with no helmets, wearing flip flops, trying to look more thai then they are not, rashly driving, overspeeding, with no thai licence and often no 2 wheller licence in their foreign licences. No to mention all those 50-60 year olds in Hua Hin .getting drunk in bars and riding home on the rented 2-wheeler...not surprising. The authorities should also start to crack down on all the unscrupulous renters who just don't care on the driving licence of the foreigner, as long as the money comes in. Because of a bunch of retarded tourists, it's the entire expat and foreigner community who pays the price and has to go through tougher immigration and bureaucratic hassles.

One thing in Thailand is that the reale estate owners selling property (houses or condos) just do not supervise the work of their painters or electricians. The finish is often very bad quality and the problems start to show barely one year after completition and after you have paid of course. No matter how costly or luxurious the project may be - the work is very often crappy so watch out. Rent, don't buy. Leave if you see bad workmanship as it could end up in a short circuit or fire in the premises.

They have some nice gsm cellular network jammers. People have them in a bag and it cuts all network in the limited radius. But these gadgets are not permitted in many countries so would not recommend this at all.

I once bought smilar stuff as the person who was Thai in front of me had at 7-11 and she got her stamps. When it was my turn the casher did not give and when I asked, she said the usual "no have". On walking away i saw the chap behind me, who was Thai who by miracle got his stamps and no more "no have".

People dont care for Singapore or elsewhere by train. People want fast, reasonably priced and direct connections with fast train to Bangkok and Bangkok Airport from Pattaya. Hua Hin or Phuket and further.

You can surely lock in a shed if you have a garden ? or CCTV ?

Like many thing, those who brag or show the most are the ones who got the least.

Costly of course. But hardly more costly then the top private hospitals in Thailand. As for visa, most under Thai visa waiver are also eligible to 90 day stay with the US tourist visa B2, and 1000 times less hassle once you get it.

How about a robot lawnmowe ? Far better- it does the job for you and you won't risk stumbing into a snake.

A dozen is not all

The USA has lovely beaches, 90 day stay hassle free visa, cheap food and of course great health care. Miami not to mention and other areas. Even Mexico has great quality of living, cheap cost of living, good infrastructure and does not harass people for visa, immigration or other absurd forms that Thailand enforces on foreigners. You cannot judge a country just after a 3 week holiday spent mainly with barstool ladies and whisky.

IPTV sticks or Android TV box are illegal and get one into big trouble or even jail.

It's the polluting trucks with old engines, the vans, public bus, two wheelers that contribute to pollute in Bangkok area and all over. The air in Bangkok had reached danger levels a few weeks ago - it was all over in the media. Many tourists cancelled the visit to Thailand due to the health risk with the alarming rate of PM particles in Bangkok area.

I just don't feel confortable giving out a foreign passport with bank details, or showing my signature..... to a stranger in Thailand.

Another good reason why many foreigners are looking to leave Thailand. Such behaviour from Thai government offices is always in the press all over the world or on social media. Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia and many other countries in the ASEAN region are far better and hassle free on immigration, cheaper cost of quality living, good and affordable health care and better value for money.

Could be true as booze and prostitues are cheaper in Thailand which is what much of the foreigners come in for...

Always the usual problems with the screen and keyboard with the previous MBPros, fixed by Apple of course. However at a hefty price. Not sure if I would go for the 2024 model.
