  1. You clearly fail to see that there is not balance - 999 or 9999999 - 1 wrong death is not worth it.
  2. Then you will gladly be put to sleep - no problem. However - and maybe you dont know this (yet) - the real world is very different to what you think. When faced with that choice it is amazing how lifelong views suddenly change. And in fact it is often the one who for decades said 'put me down' (acting tough etc) who screams and fights to stay another day.
  3. One wrong death by the State is not 'balanced' by 999 correct ones. That one person could be you or your son or your brother etc etc etc.
  4. Please show me - you are the 3rd person to make that claim. International transfers show in all Thai bank books/accounts - the reason does not necessarily do so - but the source of the money does. Prove that wrong - please. There are lots of worried people about incxome taxes who would love to know this - me too - please show us. If Expats can transfer money into Thailand and it does not show in the Thai bank records as an international transfer, then most income tax issues are 'gone with the wind'.
  5. Google - 'Trump claims auto industry faces a bloodbath' . Any fool can do that - maybe not one with TDS.
  6. Not how it works as far as I know and I have used Wise for years. Perhaps it works that way for Wise transfers from certain countries?? Please show me - prove it to us all. International transfers show in Thai bank books/accounts - the reason does not necessarily do so - but the source of the money does. Prove that wrong - please. There are lots of worried people about income taxes who would love to know this - me too - please go right ahead and show us.

  8. I believe that all overseas transfers from Wise are shown as international transfers in the Thai bank book. Maybe try a small amount for each one and see what happens?
  9. We drive a lot around Thailand and it is without a doubt more dangerous here than back home in Aust. However, back home in Aust you are executed for failing to use a blinker (joke) - it has gone way too far in Aust and I am sure when they enforce a 10km speed limit they will say they have saved lives. The reality is that driving a vehicle at 80+ kph is inherently dangerous - giving people $500 fines for going 10kms over that arbitrary speed limit on a 4 lane divided highway is effin total BS. IMO Thailand needs to do a few things - buit never do what it is like back in the west where there are speed cameras in every parked vehicle and driving a car is a nightmare of worry and constant watching of the speedo. Thailand should implement Red light cameras, Random booze buses, and 'active' speeding patrols with vehicles out on the roads looking for those going 20-30+ over the speed limit (not those doing 5-10kms over). My last fine in Aust was on a road on the way back from the golf course in Qld. I was going 8kms over the limit - which was 80 kms on very safe and straight divided highway with no other cars around. Those buggers were on that road for a week - after that we saw them each time we went to/from golf that week. The very next week a stolen car speeding lost control and killed 3 people in another car on that exact same road. Speeding cameras are revenue raisers - I know far more then most aboput that fact because I was involved in them starting way back. What was initiaily all about running red lights and speeding through intersections, quickly became an integral part of revenue raising and putting them out on the roads makes SFA difference but mnakes a lot of money.
  10. This is why I will never agree to the death penalty. Just one false convinction and someone loses their life - which is all we ever have or will have. However if someone convicted of a very serious crime would rather take the needle than spend 30-50 years in jail, then OK let them go out (and save the money).
  11. I said something similar and probably worse about Cinton and then Biden - punted out both times. The point being we all went too far - egged on by click bait posts that TV deliberately posted for the advertising revenue. In the end it was like allowing Russians and Ukrainians in for 90 days with a Visa - short term gains for long term pains. Changing from TV to AN failed to save it - and now it is back on track so to speak, I just hope the new management (old George) does not go down the same path.
  12. Sounds interesting - thanks.
  13. Interesting - may I ask what work - designing parts for manufacturing? I have looked at 3d printers and they amaze me - a brilliant innovation - never used one though. I worked in IT&T and Computers from 1970s to 2010s - saw a lot of innovations.
  14. I hear you, but I am surmising why they banned his shop's sign and I think it is because he did the first big one without permission and they made him remove it, and then he did the next smaller one again without permission, and was again asked to remove it. The local ordinances had been changed because of whatever reasons all over UK, but I understand long standing signs were given an exemption in some councils/boroughs (and can be 'touched up'). I am surmising - but I think I am right - I doubt the issue is the Union Jack - it is the sign itself. He has tried and lost the 'local channel' - so now he is trying the social media path (smart).
  15. What do you 'print' on that? Genuinely interested. I assume you dont play computer games 24/7 in Thailand.
  16. Allow undesirables into the country for 90 days Visa free in the name of economic recovery - what could possibley go wrong. There is a reason people from certain countries are not easily allowed into the West - and yet Thailand has allowed them to freely enter for 3 months with no questions asked. And guess where they mainly went - to the most corrupt place in the country - Phuket. Good luck getting them to leave later - they will be dug into the corrupted systems like an Alabama tick.
  17. Reputable and Safe - No - and there never will be in our lifetimes. IMO dont install any App with access to your bank account - so many things can and do go wrong.
  18. Dont worry - he will grow up one day and join the real world - hopefully.
  19. Advertising signs are not allowed on walls - I would say that is their issue. If they allow one sign, then they have to allow all the others. Maybe put it on the windows? or door?
  20. It is endemic - Thai females have been caught up in the FB stupidity. But lets face it, if it was not that it would be somehting else. Good thinking to let her buy some crap rice and learn it is all scams - as opposed to a lot that have bought 'diamonds' and found out that they are those 'lab made' moissanite diamonds that look great, but are not real diamonds. Not much in the way of consumer laws here in Thailand - good luck getting money back - seller probably outside the country anyway. Women are extremely silly when it comes to things like that - especially Thai women.
  21. Wise decision - all social media platforms are inherently insecure and the User are prone to being taken advantage off. One of the first things I did was remove all the wife's personal data from her facebook, and then restricted access to who could post what to her. She got all the others in her family to do the same.
  22. Yes - it is OK to 'advertise' on social media - but actually paying using that is just silly. Using one's loaf as you said - not something taught in school for decades.
  23. That is great advice - We are all out on parole - so we do need to 'behave'.
  24. There are things that are in writing and then there are things the saleman says. What any salesman says is not worth the paper it was written on. In this case, any later complaint will be responded with something like - 'I show him how IPTV worked good on TV. I no say they are free.' 🙂
  25. And who was saying many years ago that it was not a good idea to allow Somchai borrow money to buy a new truck? Educated Thais and Expats. But no one listened and those making money were happy, and the Junta Govt said the economy was growing - what the problem? And who is now saying it is not a good idea to allow certain people in for 90 days without a Visa just for short term economic gains? Educated Thais and Expats. But no one is listening and those making money off them are happy, and the Govt is saying the economy is growing - what the problem? And on and on and on it goes - year after year, issue after issue. The inevitable end result is coming. Vietnam and Malaysia are eating Thailand's breakfast and Philippines is moving to get involved - soon they will all move on to the Thai lunch - and when they hit the Thai's dinner, it will be all over. And then it will be - what happenned? And then it will be a revolution. Maybe that is what is needed here.
